Buckingham BLU-RAY SoundStage Feb. 7, 2012

FINALLY!

Lindsey Buckingham with special guest Slicky Nicks.
(Who?)

Anyways I'll be adding this to the collection.
Can Fleetwood Mac Live In Boston be far
behind. Bring it on!!!

If only the Mirage and Tusk video's
were up for the Blu ray treatment. If wishes
were fishes.

In HD we will be able to count the actual
number of hairs he's lost between then and
the Small Machine.

On a side note, wouldn't it be nice if they
included everything they recorded that night?
Flubs and all, as bonus features.

Even better, a new interview with Michael Richards
asking the hard hitting questions. Lindsey could comment,
Dude, I like your hair, Richards Right back at ya brother.

Keep this on the down low, don't let Nico read this.

Micheal Richards would only be reminded of his lack of hotness in company with the gorg specimen that is current LB and his misunderstood hair.

iamnotafraid 12-01-2011 03:20 AM

Nico you weren't supposed to read this!!!

Let me think a little bit, then I'll post something
really nice about you and Mr. Buckingham.

While I'm thinking, you should post something
about yourself so I'll have a better understanding
of whom I'm chatting/posting/dealing with.

There were no flubs. It wasn't like Soundstage where he did two takes of the songs and talked in between. He just sailed right through as if it was a normal concert.

But yes, it would be nice if they used all songs recorded that night.

I thought iamnotafrad was referring to the Soundstage Michele...maybe I misread.

iamnotafraid 12-01-2011 05:46 PM

Taking a break from playing my guitar...

Yes, I was and am talking about SoundStage.

Here's the original setlist (how it went down)

Somones Gotta Change Your Mind
Steal Your Heart Away
Big Love
Go Insane
Trouble
Peacekeeper
Red Rover
Never Going Back Again (w/Nicks)
Say Goodbye (w/Nicks)
Murrow Turning Over In His Grave
Go Your Own Way
I Am Waiting/Down On Rodeo

How it was telecast

Someones Gotta Change Your Mind
Trouble
Big Love
Go Insane
Down On Rodeo
Peacekeeper
Red Rover
Never Going Back Again (w/Nicks)
Say Goodbye (w/Nicks)
Murrow Turning Over In His Grave
Go Your Own Way

Nico "online charm"...
Does that mean you're different
in person???

Michele were you at the taping?

Nico 12-01-2011 05:55 PM

I would have loved to hear "Steal Your Heart Away!" I've revisited that song lately and fallen in love. "I Am Waiting" deserves more love.

Iamnotafraid, no I'm even moreso in person. So I am told. ;)

elle 12-01-2011 06:01 PM

well, I am Waiting And SYHA are available on the soundstage DVD as extras. somebody on amazon commented that reported length of blu-ray is a bit shorter than soundstage and were wondering whether that means that IAW and SYHA will not be on the blu-ray.

i would love to see all the flubs (Murrow solo that people have talked about) and double takes, but that doesn't seem to be happening:laugh:

Full of charm, look like Jessica Alba,
and to top it off a Buckingham Super
Fan.

Indeed if all this is true and you're
over 30 years old, rich and have been
FEMALE all your life! Then please pm me
as soon as possible.

Yes, I haven't watched the dvd in awhile, so of course I had forgotten about the bonus parts. Do you think LB would let his guard down enough to include anything that isn't a perfect presentation? I would LOVE that, but realistically I don't think it would happen.

I still want the stuff left off Destiny Rules, tbh.

You're obviously joking, but you are hilarious and sweet. I am happily taken, but I am certain you'll find your Jessica Alba (or better) very soon. :wavey:

Erin 12-01-2011 08:04 PM

I'm not sure if I'm ready to see myself in HD! Happily I was in the back.:o

It's too bad they didn't tape the requests he did after the taping ended (SMAP, etc.). The flubs weren't all that interesting, elle, especially after 3 and a half hours and you never got a chance to eat before you left...

oh i would love it if he recorded Small Machine the same way as Soundstage with every song being done twice - i would gladly live without food for that!! :blob2: hey - i spent several weekends in the last two months basically living on jelly-sandwich breakfasts, a bit of coffee, couple glasses of red wine and a liberal dose of lindsey music / concerts and it was a great diet!

but yeah, even though i definitely don't like SMAP i liked the concert versions he did from time to time as encores and would love to see the requests after taping ended!

even better, didn't he say in some interview recently that he'd consider doing a concert series where a third of the songs would be requests from the audience? would be great idea to set up the spring tour this way LB - bring it on!:wavey:

I believe he also did Bleed to Love Her, but my memory could be faulty! I remember how surprised I was about SMAP.

Elle, it would be awesome if he did a request show, but he'd probably be scared of all our OOTC requests! My friend and I were so hungry by the end of Soundstage we were sneaking suckers I had in my purse between takes.

I love it  And I love that he did it in the 92Y interview! I've watched that about 100 times :)

Elle, I think you and I could diagree ad nauseam about SMAP and WATL

I would DIE if he took a whole ( or a third ) concert of requests!!

Erin, I can't tell you HOW MANY TIMES in my life I have played BTLH. It is simply gorgeous and my favorite song on The Dance album. I find it so gorgeous.

Nico 12-01-2011 09:28 PM

Wait a minute elle!!!

Girl, you can't be serious...b-bbbb-but SMAP is beautiful. It's SO beautiful. Would you change your mind if I plugged it with a drop-dead gorgeous/stunning young LB?:

How can you not?

I'm messing with you. You have pretty phenomenal taste so I'm going to leave you alone over this, even though I think it's a PERFECT song.:wavey:

 Well...let me just say this: I am so grateful to be surrounded by the awesomeness that is you LB fans. You have no idea how cool you are in my book. However, we will agree to disagree on these two songs until another debate arises. Until then, I declare my undying love to both those masterful songs and I would love to hear him play them live many times at some point in the near future.

But it's all good Lindsfan. I hate "Not Too Late" and many people disagree passionately with me on that. :wavey:

yeah in fact this has always bothered me - i'd like to share this vid with people as a one-two punch showcasing both his Tusk music and how off-the-charts gorgeous he was but since he's doing SMAP that ruins it. :p almost ANY other of his Tusk songs would work perfectly instead of SMAP (well, other than That's All For Everyone).

Yeah, "That's All For Everyone" is my least fave of his Tusk songs. But it's crazy popular with the indie crowd and a ton of my artist friends consider it the most beautiful song on the whole album. So what the hell do I know.

I guess I'll dream of conversations that might have been.

And I'm totally jealous of all who attended this show.

A little off topic, but they're also releasing one of Chris Isaak's
SoundStage concerts in HD. January I believe.

Memories

From my post over six years ago:

At the taping, a couple of memories:
Lindsey complaining that his new shoes were too tight.
When the show started off with Someone's Gotta Change Your Mind, I knew it was going to be special.
Fans calling out for Holiday Road and Neale Heywood playing a few chords and sharing a laugh with Lindsey (apparently, Neale suggested that it be in the set, but obviously it did not make the cut).
Someone yelled out Miranda and Lindsey stated he has never played that song before (obviously he meant Live).
After a short break, Brett Tuggle was nowhere to be found. Showed up a few minutes later complaining about the chili he had earlier in the day.
Hearing Murrow live was great, as was the scaled back version of Trouble was magnificent (the best version I've ever heard). These versions were so fresh, it was like I had never heard them before.
Down on Rodeo was a pleasant surprise. I think he omitted the "can you hear me Annie" from the live version.
Lindsey probably could have played longer, but wanted to be with his wife (winking and saying "if you know what I mean") before she flew back to California.
Gosh, I hope they put this show on DVD, including the audience requests of Save Me a Place and Bleed to Love Her.

everything that's on DVD is on blu-ray edition. including SYHA and IAW.

the only difference i can see so far is that during the setup / listing BL plays in the background, not GYOW like on DVD.

Groovy! How's the picture quality?

Also... does it list on the back of the cover what Region it is?
