The FM Game: If I never hear this song again it will be too soon
These are songs by Fleetwood Mac that you like or that you love but you are simply burnt out on hearing them.
Don't Stop Go Your Own Way |
Don't Stop. Don't Stop. Don't Stop.
I need to be in a very particular mood to want to listen to that song, otherwise I just can't handle it. Don't get me wrong, it's a great song... it just makes me get violent. |

Rhiannon |
Definitely Don't Stop.

^
Same two as elle chose - Dreams and Rhiannon |
Dreams.
I will never understand why this is the ONLY FM song (other than the occasional EO17) they will EVER play on the radio... Actually, throw in Landslide too. The Dance version, of course. |
Don't Stop.
Sara. And maybe Landslide? Stevie said it herself, it's all the TV exec's want her to sing. My mum ruined Sara for my by singing 'Sara, sara, sara.' over and over and over again in such an off key voice I had to resort to earplugs. |
Hmm..
I am definitely sick of Rhiannon in every incarnation - live, demo, album, single - they're all tiresome to my ears. I will turn off the radio, skip the track, change the channel, go get a beer - anything to avoid hearing it one more time. I think that's really the only one I can't endure, although Sara is getting there. Very close. Just thinking about it makes me want to play something loud, male and British to ensure I don't have Sara stuck in my head. |
The Entire Rumours album...Plus Rhiannon and I'm all Set:D oh and Brown Eyes...moreover I'm sick of hearing what a brilliant song it is.......it's not....lol
Mick |
Brown Eyes is brilliant. Don't know what prompted me to type that.:D
Anyway, I'd say Dreams (any version), Landslide (the Dance), and Don't Stop (the Dance) are at the top of the list. And let's be honest--most of the band's live setlists since 1978 onward are pretty tired. |
At the moment Landslide is a pretty sore note.
|
Don't Stop, mostly.
|
Landslide. It's a great song, but gets too much exposure. I understand everyone being sick of Dreams, but I've been playing that song alot more recently for whatever reason.
|
GoldDust Woman.
I don't hear Sara that much anywhere anymore. : ( |
Don't Stop is always a skipper for me, even though it's a great song. Landslide usually gets skipped also just because it puts me in a mood ;)
|
Yup - it's gotta be Don't Stop. I'm just sick of it!
|
I opened up iTunes and noted of late that I've been skipping Sisters Of The Moon and most of the rest of Tusk as well. :sorry:

Pretty much anything by the Rumour's era crew except Stevie's stuff off of Tusk.
Couple of exceptions to that of course (I can still listen to songs like Isn't It Midnight, The Chain, Murrow, Miranda, Seven Wonders, etc) but in the main, I am so over the Rumour's FM right now that I tend to skip them when they play on my iPod. I'm much more inclined to listen to solo albums or the Welch/Weston/Walker era. :( |
I work at a grocery store that insists on subjecting it's customers and employees on a near-daily basis to a never-ending stream of 70s AM radio schlock (read: sappy ballads, the occasional decent classic rock song, and lots of ****ty disco). So yeah, you can imagine I'm dead tired of Rumours. I was tired of it before I started working there, and really, I wouldn't mind hearing something from one of their other 17 studio albums just once.
At this point I'm like "so you went through awful breakups...during the Ford Administration. Cry me a river, won't you!" |
Save Me a Place...I've never cared for it and I file it under 'What was Lindsey thinking?!!!'. The lyrics are fine. Maybe he'll totally change it with a very different live version at some point.
Also, The Second Time....why Stevie ever thought this was okay is beyond me! |
Everywhere.
Wimpiest song ever. Talk about running to hear something with balls after that. |
Landslide (live, or by another artist) the studio version is still beautiful to me..
|
I haven't listened to the The Chain since August 21st. Its just not one of my favorites.
Also Rhiannon, Everywhere, and Tusk I just don't care for that much. I know everybody's tired of Don't Stop but I still get soooo excited when that song comes on. |
Don't Stop for sure. I love that song and everything, but I can only take so much of it.
|
"Landslide", with "Don't Stop" a close second...

I think we have played this long ago.
To me it's always temporary. There are periods when I get sick of Dreams, Silver Springs, Little Lies, so I choose not to hear them for 3 or 4 months, and then I enjoyed them a lot. I even try not to listen Fleetwood Mac, but no 3 or 4 months, just 2 or 3 weeks and then I really enjoy them |

Don't Stop (please do--I've hated it since Clinton campaigned and it was playing endlessly on the compaign trail)
Dreams (there is just nothing that interests me in this anymore...no nuance, nothing) Landslide (as someone said, it's a great song. A song that was one of my favorites and still is, if I'm in the right mood. But, I'd just rather hear something else and have a chance to miss it! Can't do that if it never goes away) I'm So Afraid...unless I'm right by Lindsey's feet--then, it's kind of mesmerizing and...even if I'm in the line of fire to get kicked by those ratty old shoes. Big Love...I just have had enough of that house of the hill. I know it means a lot to him but...I just don't love it. |
I'm probably the odd one here.I never get tired of FM/Stevie/Lindsey tunes. But now its the off season of touring here and I do slack off on playing them by going back to country tunes ,oldies and lite rock tunes.
now holiday tunes.Time to time I'll play them but not every minute of the day like in the mitz of their touring season. And I'll play them to reference of comments from this forum to see what the poster is talking about. |
I think I get tired of a lot of songs after I wear them out by playing them over and over and over.....but all I do is not listen to them for about a month or so and then I can start obsessing over them again

I can't go ONE day without Lindsey solo! :distress: |
Don't Stop - have never really cared for it all that much

Don't Stop. It's just cheesy.
|
Another vote for Don't Stop. The only version I like anymore is the one from the Dance.
|
Weird, I think Don't Stop is one of the better choices to hear on the radio.
My vote goes to Dreams. Such a snoozefest. |
The Second Time
