[Just the same stuff. One interview that they all draw from]
By Arcade Staff and Associated Press http://www.dailytribune.com/articles...mode=fullstory FLYING SOLO TO LORAIN: Lindsey Buckingham, continuing tour without Fleetwood Mac, says he’s having the time of his life Published: Friday, November 04, 2011 Though Fleetwood Mac rose to fame in the swinging 1970s, the group’s legendary leading guitarist-singer Lindsey Buckingham said he’s still having the time of his life as he embarked on his latest solo tour that takes him to the Lorain Palace Sunday. The 61-year-old musician, who earned a spot in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame with Fleetwood Mac, won countless awards and defined the sound of rock for the last three decades, said in recent interview he is at a “creative and personal peak” — and one supports the other. He said he thanks his happy home life with wife Kristen and their three young children for enabling him to enjoy the 2009 reunion tour with Fleetwood Mac and to create some of his best work yet, which he released in September as his sixth solo album, “Seeds We Sow.” As he was preparing for this solo tour, which began in September, he talked to the Associated Press about the new album, Fleetwood Mac as a whole and what the future might hold. As for the inspiration of his new album, “It wasn’t any one thing that inspired it,” Buckingham said. “Normally there’s kind of a calling. “In the case of this one, Fleetwood Mac had just come off the road, and I thought we’d do some more dates. “There was no agenda to make an album, no agenda to express anything in particular, but the time opened up as a surprise, and I thought I guess I better fill it.” His best yet However, Buckingham said this new album might be his best musical work, yet. “When I’m working with Fleetwood Mac, it’s more like moviemaking. It’s collaborative, and you have to bring in something like a full-on song, which would be like the analogy of the script,” he explained. “It’s a more political process. “When you work alone, it’s more like painting. You go down to the studio, and you’ve got this sort of one-on-one with the canvas. You’ve got the freedom of not necessarily having a full-on song. You can have a rough idea and you make a start. It’s like a painter throwing colors on the canvas — at some point, they’ll paint over some part, but the work starts to take on a life of its own and lead you in a direction you might not have expected to go. There are many more surprises that happen when I’m doing solo work.” For the album, Buckingham not only wrote and performed the music, he mixed and engineered the entire album. “Basically, you kind of grow into all that,” he said about the challenges of wearing so many hats. “It’s all my own sense of how to do things. It always has been — how to teach myself how to play guitar, how to teach myself to write or sing, how to teach myself to record. “Because I don’t really know music. “I mean I do, from a certain center, but not from an academic point. I think a lot of people who get taught try to get back to the place I’m at, but I think of myself as kind of a refined primitive.” Still likes Fleetwood Mac His current solo tour is not to suggest he was unhappy with his 2009 tour, which marked a milestone reunion with the enter Fleetwood Mac band. “I keep feeling like the Fleetwood Mac experience ... seems like it keeps getting better for me.” Buckingham said. “That’s just a reflection of how things have gotten better for me personally as a solo artist and just in my personal life, and I can bring all that back and appreciate all the nuances of Fleetwood Mac and add to the mix in a very communal and supportive way.” The band’s biggest album, “Rumours,” was partially about Buckingham’s breakup with Stevie Nicks. But his relationship with her now is hardly adversarial. “I’ve known (Stevie) since high school,” he said. “I spent some time with her when she was finishing up her solo album and mine was already done. We worked on some stuff together and had some real quality time. “And all these years later, that there’s still some chapters to unfold with the two of us seems just to be the sweetest thing. When Buckingham’s tour ends after this month, a lot of things will be up in the air. “There’s a certain amount of ... I wouldn’t say chaos ... but a certain amount of the unknown that you’ve got to allow for if you’re going back and forth from one to the other (solo work to Fleetwood Mac). “There’s been a lot of talk about a Fleetwood Mac tour next year, possibly even a Fleetwood Mac album. I think it would be fun to maybe find a producer other than myself, just to make it easier for me and someone who could overview the situation in a healthy way so we could enjoy each other as band mates a little more. “So I’ve heard a lot of rumblings about that, but nothing’s been written. There’s nothing on the books for Fleetwood Mac next year, but I would be shocked if that didn’t happen at some point.” If you go Lindsey Buckingham performs at the Lorain Palace Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Sunday as part of Time Warner Cable Music: Sessions series. Tickets are $29.50 to $75, available online a www.LorainPalace.com and www.livenation.com. Loge seating (which includes food concessions) is $250 for a table seating four people . CONCERT IS TOMORROW!!! :D |
I know!! I'm really not familiar with this place- how is the parking situation?
|
Quote:
If your going south on Broadway and make a right at the light right before the palace there is a parking lot (I think lot 6, that's right by a church) that I plan on parking in. I also plan to get there about an hour and a half before the show starts. EDIT: Anyone know what time the doors open and what the camera/video policy is? |
For personal reasons I have opted out of attending tonight's show. Hope everyone who is going has a good time.

according to all the tweets during and after the show, plus all great videos, this show was something else... don't know how but apparently LB + the band are still getting more and more amazing with each show:nod: - can't wait to read the reviews of people who were there!!
here is video of Turn it On with the "edge walk" / hand shakes and some guy yelling "you rock dude!" - also, bunch more vids from Cleveland show on this guy's youtube channel. |

The show was super amazing! I'm glad this guy got video! I'm not proficient with video and only have a big honking camera that I'm pretty sure is frowned upon at shows.
I was blown away (per usual). After the disappointing Pittsburgh show (not Lindsey, but the audience and security) this was a welcome change of pace! The audience gave standing ovations after almost every song and once the coast was clear the front of the stage was packed. The head security guy actually yelled at another security guy for trying to make people go back to their seats. Finally getting on the same page I think! I won't go over the songs because it was the same speeches and same setlist, but I loved his interactions with the crowd! Example: A woman yelled "I LOVE YOU LINDSEY" His response: "I love you, too." Another woman yelled "I love you more!" and he said "I'm liking this. Let's all meet up after the show." :p When the same woman yelled out her love to him later he paused, seraching for a comeback and said, "Well...I'm glad you're staying faithful." I was fortunate to get up to the front of the stage and get a high 5 and you know, play his guitar and stuff. It was great to have a crowd so energized and into it. He said it was the best audience yet (oh, you say that to all of them I'm sure). We went out to the bus afterwards and Brett posed for pics with people (Neale may have, I don't remember) but LB got right on the bus. You could see them all sit on the couch with Family Guy on and pizza being passed around. I guess everyone needs to chill after a long day's work! |
I was there and it was the BEST LB concert I have ever been to. And that says a lot since I have been to so bloody many, and all of them were individually amazing. But this one was OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!!
Hold on; I'm getting a review of sort ready. I mean, even my words won't be able to capture such greatness. |

LB in Lorain: flawless, incredible, making your faves jealous!!!!!!
Ok, I was so stoked that I waited until the WEEK prior to buy tickets to this show because my seats were fabulous, which I didn't expect. But of course I'm not complaining! This show was simply amazing. I can't even...look, I've seen Lindsey live many times and every time I am left speechless and mind-blown, but this was something else altogether.
Typically, I have found that people from Ohio really LOVE Lindsey. or at least every show that I have seen LB or FM in Ohio in has been incredible. I guess people from Ohio just love to rock out at concerts- maybe all the mid-west humdrum-ness rebelling in an awesome way. Any way you want to describe it, the audience was a wild and crazy fun one! Lindsey walked out and people were already shouting, "You're a genius!!" "I LOVE YOU!!!" "Oh baby!!" It was so awesome. He actually tried to sssshhhhh people because, you know, he had to start "Shut Us Down." Which was SO perfect, OMG. People were giving him a standing ovation even after the first song (myself included of course). I'm really bad at going through the whole set-list of stuff because, you know, I leave things out or I forget some details...but I was sitting next to this guy who had never seen LB live before and he kept saying how amazing and awesome he was after each song. Like, right before LB started "Go Insane" he asked me what song it was- and afterward he was just... Yeah, pretty much dude. Anyway, the entire acoustic set was marvelous. Even the typical drawn-out NGBA sounded so...perfect? Like, I can't complain about ANYTHING...he was on fire x 400 up there, and loving all the adulation. He was eating it all up, but in a very humble way- or maybe semi-humble...but still, he deserved ALL of it. I want to say that, although I definitely started dancing during "In Your Own Time" in Pittsburgh, as loud and into it as this crowd was, I wasn't in the position to begin dancing until "Second Hand News". My seats were the section 4 row B and so that was the far left, second row but MAN they were great seats. There were a ton of people sitting sort of diagonally behind me so I was a little apprehensive about dancing. But Brett kept winking at me since I was getting jittery (meaning I was sort of "seat dancing")- and I am always a dancer at LB's shows and Brett knows it. So when I got up to dance there was me and another young woman from my section (don't know her, but we totally gave each other the "get it girl" eye while dancing) and then a bunch of very provocatively dressed ladies in the front row center (Go on girls!) and then some other women in the far right section. Maybe there were a couple guys, but it was mainly women I saw dancing to be quite honest. It looked like LB had suddenly turned into a old version of Justin Bieber in a smaller setting. All these women bringing the love!:lol: He was LOVING it. I remember when the woman kept saying "I LOVE YOU!!!" and LB was like, "Well, it's good to know your...faithful..." He was SO cute. SO cute. Oh and there was something a lot less "rehearsed" about the speeches. Yes, they were the same but he seemed to improvise with the state of the audience, who were sort of hanging on every word. Like he mentioned his new album and I shouted "YEAH BB!!!" (you all know I fangirl for SWS by now so what's new?) and then, well, let's just say everyone was hanging on his every word. So back to when people started to when we all came up to the stage. It was during "Tusk" that a security guard brought two girls from the back to the front and started to motion for people to get up to the front and have fun! HELL YEAH OHIO CROWDS!!! It got crazy, it got loud, it got sooooooooo amazing. Lindsey was just on FIRE!!!:blob2: And I somehow ended up in the front center, with my very high stacked black seude Stevie boots. I felt bad since I was so tall with them, but then I realized it was all relative to my actual height: which isn't all that tall and so no one seemed to care. In fact, it was awesome. This one couple who drove 12 hours to see LB, the lady shouted "You're the greatest guitar player ever" during LB's speech (right on girl!). I screamed all kinds of pleasantries about his amazing-ness along with some other people- many of them females, and he gave us a LOT of eye contact. In fact, during the entire "End Of Time" and "treason" performances I was singing along (because I know all the words to every song of his, lol, like most of you but I was so obvious about it I guess) and LB smiled at me like a lot. :xoxo: He has such intense eyes, but he was in such a GREAT mood. He kept laughing. At one point during "Go Your Own Way" he went a little stomp/run/walk crazy towards the end while doing his solo and he almost tripped. It was funny because he just looked at Brett who was laughing at him. Wonder if it's happened a lot? I don't know how to conclude this other than to say the ENTIRE show was magnificent and flaw-free. LB was/is simply one of the best live shows you can see for your money, if not in the top 5. He was SO amazing and had the energy of a child. His voice was stunning, his playing was...well, you know. And to the person who said that SWS has no sing-along songs: you should have been there Sunday night because EVERYONE was singing along to TTWLG and EOT. Everyone was going wild. After the show, sushud82, the gentleman sitting next to me, and I went to the van and we saw Brett, Neale, and LB get on. I spoke to Brett and got pics with him, as we know each other (such a sweet guy!). But LB sort of just went on wearing his long wool coat. There were some inappropriate and rude "fans" who were voicing their feelings about LB "snubbing" them by shouting "BYE STEVIE" and making all kinds of dumbass Stevie comments. Dear idiots, he just put on a mind-blowing show for you. And you're complaining about not getting an autograph when the man, who is OVER 60, needs to rest? Shut your mouth and go cry in a corner. Not necessary. Anyway, I've got pics to share- and some video!!! Yay!! I'll hook you all up later. Thanks to everyone I met. Sushud82 is so sweet. And Caroline, I'm so sad. :( Next time girl. So glad you were there though!!!!:blob2: |

and also, so happy for LB and the guys to get to experience more and more adulation and everybody responding so well to the new songs as the US leg is winding down - hopefully LB will feel the withdrawal and decide to get back on the road some time in the spring. |

Thank you ladies SO much!!! :xoxo: The show was unbelievable and I know I should be posting these instantly but it takes me forever to get things sorted. Here's a few to hold you over (remember my pics always tend to come out rather average because I get too distracted by the actual music/show to really take the best pics...plus I used the small camera this time just because...):

Absolutely fantastic pictures Nico! Thank you!
Really, I have only one ickle complaint about everyone's photos and it's not their fault - just wished Lindsey could have worn some different outfits so that all the pics don't look like they came from one huge show! If he could have worn something a little different for each we could have distinguished between shows. Come on Lindsey - wear something different for us in England please! |
