greetings from the road

Hello from lovely boise idaho! I got in on the bus at about 8am and just wandering around town who do I run into? Well lets just say he's the subject of this forum.;)

Mac Attack 09-12-2011 11:48 AM

Ha ha, cool, did you get a picture?

Silver Springs 09-12-2011 12:05 PM

Holy Duck. So jealous! What did you/he say?

DavidMn 09-12-2011 12:19 PM

I tapped lindsey
on the shoulder and said "hello stranger." He turned around and said hey dave good to see youa and gave me a big hug. Apparently hes a big tennis fan because he was on his wau to watch the us open mens final. I didnt get a pic this time because I didnt want to bother him 2 much.

DavidMn 09-12-2011 12:49 PM

You're on a name basis with him? I can't even....Wow. You did right not wishing to bother him, because I'm sure he gets sick of people feeling they have a right to harass him wherever he goes because he's a "Celebrity" (I hate that word).

Me too - I am in awe!

DavidMn 09-12-2011 01:21 PM

Well it comes from being polite and respectful each time I see him. I am grateful for a couple minutes of his time and let him be on his way.

I look forward to seeing what songs make it into the setlist so I know what to look forward to. I know better than to hope for D.W. Suite, but some of the old classics would be nice (and obviously songs from his new album). Wrong (very unlikely), Down On Rodeo, Trouble, Satisfied Mind (Hmm...), Don't Look Down and Johnny Stew (That would be AMAZING live to see how he acts out the Caveman-esque aspects of the song) would be wonderful to hear.

erwk05 09-12-2011 05:02 PM

you can show me how its done on friday saturday and sunday :)

Hmm. Not entirely sure I'm sold on his choice of songs, but maybe hearing them all together live will be great. I wish I could just send him a setlist and have him stick to it for my shows, haha!

DavidMn 09-12-2011 06:25 PM

Souncheck: under the skin & end of time.

michelej1 09-12-2011 06:36 PM

Why is he hanging on to Under The Skin and ignoring gems?

Especially since he did both shut us down and under the skin on the last tour too. I love them both live but enough already. It's not like people are dying to hear those two. He could choose one other song from both albums and the casuals would never even notice. I would do horrible things to hear underground, rock away blind, and try for the sun in his acoustic set.

that's so cool David! we'll take this as a good omen for the tour and the things to come - have fun tonight!!

well, i saw this live, and although i think it's much much better than Bass list - mainly b/c new songs are so great (consequently DVD will be much better!), i wasn't completely happy with it. i really hope he got rid of all my sorrows and under the skin, and replaced them with some others from OOTC and UTS. and replace treason with underground. and add GOS or right place to fade. and add you do or you don't. and of course walk a think line. and play 3 hrs.

I love Under the Skin (and All My Sorrows).
I want You Do or You Don't and Surrender the Rain.
And Gone Too Far.
And Stars are Crazy.
And When She Comes Down.
And Make Me a Mask! (as long as we're talking long shots!)

Oh, my goodness. If he heard that song title, I could imagine Lindsey just saying, "Huh?"

I would imagine it would get the same reaction Stevie gave the Sisters of the Moon request;-)

Hmmm...do I have the nerve to actually shout something out at Lindsey? (probably not but maybe I can pay someone to do it!)

I've done it twice. The first time he actually did it. I was yelling Down on Rodeo and at the end of his set he goes "did I hear rodeo?" He then proceeded to play it on acoustic guitar.

The second time I did it, I yelled "underground." I was right below his feet. He replied back "we didn't rehearse that one."

But Stevie is aware of SOTM. I'm thinking Lindsey may not readily remember Mask.

Although I like the Acoustic version of "Trouble" I'd prefer to see it Live this time around Full Band.

Thanks David - you've just fired up my excitement even more!!!!!!! :]

I can still hardly believe I'm gonna see him 3 times, when I never really thought it would happen once! :blob1::woohoo:

As far as the M&G goes - I think me and Bee might just DIE as soon as we get within a few of him!!!!!!

Yep. That sounds about right. Can see us just collapsing into a heap and him just stepping casually over us :p

I'm loving the enthusiasm I'm reading for his live performance, and it's only making me even more excited that I get to experience it twice.

Moi aussi!!!!!! I'm really glad it's later for us - we've still got it all to come and our excitement will just build and build!!! :]
