Great video. I'm just not a huge fan of fan made live videos, because you always get a couple who sing along tunelessly which I found terribly grating. But it's a lovely version, non the less.

So at least I know one song to expect on the schedule when I go see him. Not exactly a curve ball, but I'm happy :)

im hoping to get an idea of what he will play and then theres this whole other list of what i would LIKE him to play! wonder if the uk tour will be different songs!

only 5 days to go and all will be revealed .. :)

Yuck. I loved the full band version so much. I guess he need material for his acoustic set.
I could never understand why people feel the need to sing along at concerts. This isn't American Idol folks.

You'd be surprised at how delusional some people are in
Thinking they can sing.

You'd never do at a gig in Ireland....

That said, Go Insane (acoustic) is a song completely innapropriate for singing along to.

We sing along because we just want to "rock away blind." I'll admit the videographer is not Ann Wilson but it was a fan vid and not a pro so allowances should be made. I'm just grateful they took the time to post it.

It literally has nothing to do with showing off. It's more about showing how much the music moves us. Most artists actually encourage the audience to sing along, especially Rick Springfield, who actually goes into the audience, mike in hand, encouraging fans to sing along or alone. If the artist doesn't mind that's all the matters.

I'm a little surprised that there's not more videos/photos/setlists from this already, especially considering it was opening night.

yeah... i could only find one guy on twitter who said he was going but haven't heard anything back. well, we will have our man there on Monday, but it would be so nice to sift through the impressions and setlist before the week starts.

EDIT: it was probably not the person who took that video that was singing, but somebody around them... i'm sure they are even more unhappy then we are with what that did to the video.

elle 09-11-2011 10:45 AM

yeah, nothing on youtube so far except this snippet (end of GYOW i guess) and go insane, from the same poster:

Had I gone their would have been photos and videos posted ASAP!

I agree with you on that second part. Kind of like the way some of The Stevie videos at The Wiltern show were ruined.

This exactly. Concerts are, and should be, a communal experience. A give and take between the artist and the audience. That's what make them so amazing.

elle 09-11-2011 11:25 AM

ok, GYOW popped up (really bad vid/sound but still):

and still, people sitting... glad i was not at that concert! ;)

I was referring to the video above. Why are people like this at his shows? It must be the theater atmosphere.

Is this for real? Not one person on the board was in Vegas last night? I am bummin hardcore!

Even though I bet his set was the same as the Saban show, I need to know for sure! :D

The show last night was in Sparks, NV. I guess not too many people were in a rush to go there. LOL.

I read on the Lindsey Buckingham HQ Facebook page that he's doing the exact Saban setlist, but hey, you never know, he might change it here and there. :)

Me too -- it's a total bummer... :distress:

michelej1 09-11-2011 02:42 PM

I feel awful too, but I hadn't planned on staying for the 2nd show and I just couldn't see changing my plans for bad seats.

I'd like to see this show in every city, but I just can't travel like I could in the past. Michele

I would not be upset!! That set was really good! However, I think he should add Rock Away Blind in there somewhere. I would be okay if he dropped Under the Skin or Treason and add something else from those two albums. Try for the Sun and Right Place to Fade are two dream tracks for me!

Also, I'm glad we are getting OOTC tracks but I am not a big fan of All My Sorrows. Soul Drifter and Turn it On would be fab!

My Aunt and I discussed doing this. I really don't think I would ever tire of his show. He clearly appreciates the people who follow him around the country. Alas, I am only doing three shows. At first I thought I might only do one but I have to see his show more than once. I might even try to wait around for him after this show.

Let's hope people film his show as much as Stevie's. There are 4,000 different versions of Rhiannon and Landslide from every tour she's done in the past three years, yet barely any videos of Lindsey from his last tour!!

And he needs one of his recent rockers in there. If he doesn't want One Take then at least go back to Gift of Screws, which I adored. So quick and dirty. It was like he was a different person when he performed it. Michele

SOO good. There was a stretch of 'Love Runs Deeper', 'Tusk', 'I Know I'm Not Wrong', and 'Gift of Screws' before his acoustic set on the last tour. Pure bliss! I'm actually surprised he's not doing GOS!

i would be very happy with these songs!! :)

bucklind17 09-11-2011 06:58 PM

He played "Love Runs Deeper" too early on the GOS tour. It's my favorite song from the album but I feel like I wasn't "warmed up" enough for when it came in the set. I'd love for him to play that AFTER the acoustic set. That ending solo is too high energy to get lost in the earliness of the show.
