Lindsey on Extra NOW

Lindsey will be on extra after the commercial break to 'discuss his breakup with Stevie Nicks.' No mention of album on preview.

wondergirl9847 09-06-2011 06:43 PM

Oh for FRICK SAKE!

NO MORE BREAK UP TALK, PLEASE!

I hope they talk about the album. :(

CADreaming 09-06-2011 06:47 PM

I'm sure they'll talk about the album...and the break up! LOL

AliceLover 09-06-2011 06:48 PM

Next preview: he said, she said segment/fleetwood Mac reinuon

michelej1 09-06-2011 07:28 PM

Not only is that annoying for fans, but isn't Extra a little embarassed to tease a break up that happened 35 years ago?

If I see or hear more garbage about a Fleetwood Mac "reunion" I'm going to lose it! I want to hear about both of their solo projects. Stevie is only 4 months into her's and Lindsey's just came out today for crying out loud.

CADreaming - you were right, his hair does look good here. i like this SWS version too - much better than on Tavis imho.

Regina 09-06-2011 09:00 PM

Hmmmmmm....I'll be good.
I will say that I put that interview on full screen and my dark gray cat would not get away from the monitor. I think her thought was, "Daddy! At last, I've found you."
Another highly random thought...is wearing leather 24-7 really that comfortable? Cause, I wouldn't think so. And, the leather of the jacket blended in with the leather in the chair and I thought that Lindsey had really bulked up since last night!
And, other random thought (perhaps breaking that first resolution)...if I were married to someone who smiled so sweetly and didn't look directly at the camera when discussing a certain someone and chapters yet to write...I'd be a bit miffed.
And, the best random thought that I just now realized! He didn't use the word MACHINE even once!!!! Although, someone needs to set him straight that not all fans want old stuff from FM. Don't close that door completely, por favor.

Yeah, it looks more coiffed. :)

FM stuff doesn't bother me in the least. They are using it to promote themselves. It's smart.

Nico 09-06-2011 09:12 PM

It was cool that the guy actually pulled one of LB's quotes unexpectedly on him. They've been making him explain those quotes a lot lately. Then of course he goes on and on explaining them, but perhaps he'll learn to come up with terser quotes when he gets drained from all the explanations.

He really looks great! I mean, his face looks really good for an almost-62 year old man. His hair...well, um.

Ok, I agree with Regina about the chair, lol!

That dude: "Professionally." Yeah, little buzz-killer. ;)

Um, I love that LB isn't into hypothetical thinking too much and Stevie is. They are so different and so similar in many ways...

Gorgeous SWS. :xoxo:

I loved his answer - "well, that's a nice thought".

Regina 09-06-2011 09:24 PM

That was a really nice version of SWS. I almost gave up on it after the Tavis Smiley appearance.
Oh, shoot. Conan is on soon. I better get my fanny off the Ledge and move toward the tv, before I forget.

Yeah, who knows what he really thinks. Lindsey is very good at keeping those real thoughts private I guess, and all we get is some very seemingly casual reply. But I sort of dig that about him.;)

Yeah, I love his little smirks and smiles. I can almost see the wheels turning under all that hair. LOL

Yeah, it makes me extremely sad to hear that Lindsey of ALL people has finally caved to the pressure of making FM a purely oldies act. :distress: I don't know, I guess it's the eternal optimist in me, but I still think Fleetwood Mac's best music is potentially ahead of them. This group of musicians have been perfecting their respective crafts individually and collectively for 4 decades now. The possibility for new music from Fleetwood Mac is almost limitless. They could make such a profound, high quality statement if they wished. The only thing stopping them is... them.

I thought that was a total 180 from where he was in 2003. He was the one trying to propel them forward. It's a bit surprising.

Did Lindsey's voice quaver a bit when he said, "Yes" ?

Larry David had an epsode this season where they were saying if your voice gets higher when you answer a question, that means you're lying.

I agree. I was thinking about that the other day. I actually think that might be the whole deal behind the Big Machine/Little Machine blather. I think, in some ways, he's trying to justify the whole thing to himself. And, that's okay. No one can be idealistic all the time (especially when he's the only one in the group doing it) but...it has to bother him, on some level, beyond belief.

Sometimes, you just have to talk the talk to try and make yourself believe something you don't.

And, IMO (and I would guess nearly everyone on the Ledge), he's right. Might be a huge commercial risk--but...you have extremely talented people not using their talent.

I bet he did say something about it before he played SWS, but they cut it out. That guy interviewing him....something about him seems too smooth or too fake....almost like he's trying to trap Lindsey into saying the wrong thing!!

CADreaming 09-07-2011 09:49 AM

^They edited the album promo in with all the little Rumours sensationalizing clips.

I know that this audience cares mostly about Brad and Angelina and the only way to sneak an interview with some one as obscure as Lindsey Buckingham is to disguise it as something else, but it really makes me mad. I'd almost rather he not be on the show. Let Fleetwood Mac do Extra. I don't see the point of promoting his new album on there. Of all the many viewers that show has, I doubt that any of them are going to buy his album due to that interview. He just does not fit their demographic.

Michele
