Billboard Chart

Stevie is back on the charts at #150 this week!! GO STEVIE!!

Woo Hoo!! It's amazing how these TV appearance's, along with her tour (with practically universal positive reviews) & no doubt her FWIW video release last week impacted sales. She has sustained a slow burn run on the album charts 4 months after IYD release! I think that's been the marketing plan all along.... This is wonderful news!!
I don't recall if TISL was still on the Billboard Top 200 charts 4 months after its release!?! Or was it? As I remember it had a quick accent & quick sales (selling & achieving gold status (500K) in 6 weeks) then by late July 2001, it was completely off the charts.

WildHearted 09-01-2011 10:38 AM

That's so amazing. That's a Pretty hIgh jumP back in, too. Go stevie!

Phoenix 09-01-2011 10:40 AM

Yay!! GO STEV:]IE!

wheart 09-01-2011 10:43 AM

Very nice indeed!! Always encouraging to see her re- enter the chart!!!

Macfanforever 09-01-2011 11:13 AM

150 .she got along way to go.

To where? ... And don't say relevance.

well considering she wasn't even on the chart last week, 150 is a great improvement. I don't think anyone expects her to hit #1.

Jondalar 09-01-2011 01:12 PM

Good for her. I think it's impressive that before the new album, she didn't have an official facebook page. Now she has over 500,000 followers on it in such a short time. It's still growing. If each one of those people bought an album, she would be set.

Yeah you don't seriously expect this, do you?

J.Miller 09-01-2011 01:47 PM

TISL was at 152 during the same week (17) of its release. Go Stevie.

tabruns 09-01-2011 02:16 PM

In this day and age I really don't see In Your Dreams (as good as it is) selling 660,000+ like Trouble In Shangri-La did. I'd love to see it top Street Angel's 230,000 sales though.

MacMan 09-01-2011 02:29 PM

I think TISL spent 23 weeks on the Top 200

I agree. And if it had come out prior to that, I believe it would have gone multi-platinum and spawned several hit singles.

Definitely! So much potential exists with IYD it's still not over yet, we may get some surprises, one never really knows!

greendaze5 09-02-2011 08:39 AM

Speaking of Billboard, how did "Secret Love' do? What number did it go up to?

I assume it charted on the 'Adult Contemporary' list.

SL peaked at #20 on Billboards Adult Contemporary chart, as well as peaking at #26 on Billboards Triple A chart.

Some were optimistic FWIW would debut in the Top 30 AC this week, as it was bubbling under and starting to get more spins, but alas it looks as if its not to be. It has been released for nearly 2 months already...so it's not looking so good right now:(. They probably need to think about another single soon. Maybe a song that already has a video pretty much in the can from the IYD documentary. Annabel Lee, Moonlight, In Your Dreams, Wide Sargasso Sea, You May Be The One & Italian Summer had video's supposedly already filmed in January 2011 over 4 days  I suspect FWIW was an unplanned 2nd single, and released based on the great response it received from critics and fans alike after IYD release.

I don't think a lot of fans LOVE it. The response wasn't overwhelming.

Disagree. I actually think a majority of fans love it, as you can see by the numerous threads devoted to this song, not to mention its great standing so far in the current "In Your Dreams" survivor thread. The problem is that conglomerate radio & the remaining few cable TV outlets still playing music video's simply chose not to play Stevie's new music anymore. She has long fallen out of the key $$$ demographic, no matter how good her new songs are. Triple A & AC kinda gave SL a chance, but that song wasn't strong enough imo to leave an impression or have an impact. Stevie has had more impact with her numerous high profile TV appearances/performances & extensive media & print interviews, along with her short IYD tour. It's just reality.

Any recording artist 60+ years of age will have the same uphill battle. Stevie has actually fared very well so far and not only walked away unscathed, but celebrated and honored. Between the well spring of great reviews almost across the board and selling so far @150K copies of IYD in the US alone 4 months in, that is probably better than Warners anticipated in the new music business model reality. And much better than any of her contemporary peers.

mitzo 09-06-2011 07:53 PM

Is anyone privy to the actual sales data so far for IYD?

tabruns 09-07-2011 02:55 PM

Last I saw was something like 146,000+ in the U.S.

michelej1 09-11-2011 07:09 PM

Whoa, I saw that Doris Day, 87 years old is charting with an album of new songs in the UK.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-14870590

Album is called My Heart. Better hustle Stevie.

First album that Doris Day had on their charts was 62 years ago.

With it debuting in the mid 5ok that'll be tough.

It won't top Street Angel?

But that's OK. She's a catalogue artist. She'll always sell records and they'll always be in stock. IYD just adds to the pile. And those who delve into it will have wonders to explore. God Bless Rumours.

Macfanforever 09-15-2011 02:39 PM

If she jump tracks into country,Rap hip hop. Hah god forbid or sign with these younger artist. It would of done alot better.I hate to see when FM releases whatever next year.I might call it a flop.but it still to early.

I would love for Jay-Z or Kanye to do one of those remixes/rap interludes for a single song on IYD.

Macfanforever 09-15-2011 02:41 PM

I do blame WB for not promoting the cd.

If IYD keeps being a slow but steady seller she might top Street Angel yet. A third strong single would help. I don't know if "For What It's Worth" is still slowly building at Adult Contemporary or if its time to move on to a third choice.

Huh, this album has had more promotion than any of her CDs.

The only thing that was done wrong was pretty the songs she chose to release as singles. They are boring. There is better stuff on the album.
