Enjoy a very rainy New York and cry over my 2nd row tickets which I can't return.

Hartbreakkid 08-23-2011 07:34 PM

Oh no! Storms hitting here -Boston- Sunday. The show is on the waterfront on Monday night!

I'm sure it will only be a little rainy Sunday

PastelGravel 08-23-2011 11:08 PM

I'm going to take the lack of replies to this to mean that no one's really worried so I can sleep tonight :)

daniellaaarisen 08-23-2011 11:13 PM

Buying my plane ticket last minute just in case.

HejiraNYC 08-23-2011 11:35 PM

I have to admit that the forecast is really starting to make me freak out a little now. NYC/Long Island is basically in the bullseye as of the latest forecast:

  :distress:

Albany looks "ok". That's where we're flying into. Trying to stay calm.

Oh Lord! What the Heck is going on!? 2 earthquakes in the U.S. within 24 hours of each other (Virginia & Colorado) and now this hurricane threat! Everythings gone to hell in a handbag.:o:shrug:

DavidMn 08-23-2011 11:54 PM

I dont nececarily think Bethel would be affected other than rain. Boston is the only show I could possibly see an issue with. But I think the storm is supposed to be past New England by then.

Macfanforever 08-24-2011 12:04 AM

That sob is nearing Cuba .Thanks for the tracker Ed.according to it.8pm it will be in the NY area.I hope it will take a quick right out to sea.

I agree.According to the forecast Saturday looks good for Bethel.probably leftover rainfall from Irene will be in Boston.SPAC should be fine.I just have to leave earlier for safety..

1sttimelongtime 08-24-2011 02:48 AM

If that tracker is accurate, the stupid thing will be down in North Carolina for Bethel, hit us on Stevie's day off Sunday and be long gone by Monday. I refuse to worry.

HejiraNYC 08-24-2011 07:42 AM

It looks like the track has shifted east and that Boston will get a direct hit Monday morning. This could affect the loading/setup of equipment, I would imagine. If the show does go on as planned, I'm sure Stevie will later boast that she performed during the middle of a hurricane.

SaraThePoet 08-24-2011 07:58 AM

Oh man...well I live 2 hours from boston and spac,so travel isnt an.issue, but ill be bummed if they are canceled. I was looking forward to meeting some ledgies! Oh yea,and seeing Stevie:)

jkmaletic 08-24-2011 09:14 AM

I wish you guys the best and "pray to the commercial Gods" that this storm doesn't cancel any shows.

My parents have convinced me that Boston will be canceled. I'm playing it by ear, but it looks like I won't be making the trip.

I hope they give us an early notice if it does get canceled before people travel.

jkmaletic 08-24-2011 10:01 AM

I follow the Patriots on twitter and they just announced that the Kenny Chesney concert that was scheduled for sunday at Gillette stadium has been rescheduled to friday due to forecast.

Wow they probably dont want to take chances like what just happen in Indiana.
If Stevie's show got postponed .They probably can reschedule after the JB show.Cross our fingers it wont happen.

SaraThePoet 08-24-2011 10:27 AM

BOA pavilion on Boston is an open air arena..near the water no less..i am definitely worried :(

I just was on the Livenation site.I notice this fridays Orange County Chopper Show was canceled at the BOA.They didn't say why it was canceled for.but the venue does have openings before the JB show and after the PNC show.I dont know how are the ticket sales for Stevie's BOA show did.It it was sold out or not. Also I dont know if Stevie's crew wants to lug her stuff up the Boston from NJ.Irene is far from us now.it could go anywhere.Kenny Chesney was lucky to have an opening at the Gillette on friday. It sucks for the fans that had to travel to the concert.but at lease the show did not get canceled.

I'm very glad I haven't bought my plane ticket for Holmdel/Jones Beach yet because this is scaring the crap out of me.

The storms should be long gone by then! At Holmdel, everything is covered, except lawn. It looks like shows from Sun-Tues are what's in question.

I'm supposed to leave for Vermont on Sunday and come home Tuesday. We're deciding if we want to risk it or postpone. I just don't want to spend my whole trip inside but I"m not sure how affected northern Vermont will be if the storm hits anywhere betweeen NY and Boston.

eric51078 08-24-2011 04:22 PM

I work for one of the major power companies in the area. We are supposed to hit Sunday night and it is supposed to die down Monday morning. That was the latest report I have heard from work.

Bank Of America is NOT an open air arena. Its covered except for the concourse seating. Not possible to even get wet under the tent and I have been there in severe rain.

olive 08-24-2011 04:25 PM

Monday...Partly sunny with a 30 percent chance of rain. Windy with highs around 80.

olive 08-24-2011 04:27 PM

it was just updated
Monday...Mostly sunny. Highs in the lower 80s.

Monday Night...Partly cloudy. Lows in the upper 50s.

Macfanforever 08-24-2011 06:33 PM

Oh that forcast made me feel better.I remember when I was at the PNC in holmdel years ago when they had a bad downpour.Luckly I was inside. But when everybody got up leave at the end of the concert.I remember seeing the mud and the water from the lawn came washing into the undercover part of the venue. Those poor fans outside got a free shower nevermind what they were wearing got ruined.

I meant open air as opposed to completely inside,my bad :) I've been there before..just seems as though if the hurricane hit they would be apt to cancel..

HejiraNYC 08-24-2011 06:57 PM

I'm sure the hurricane will be long gone by showtime. My concern is about the aftermath of the hurricane if there is a direct hit. Power could be out. Roads could be flooded. Trees could be down everywhere. If Mama can't set up, Mama can't play.

We'll cry together, lol. I'm trying to put it all in perspective but it's proving difficult. I'm coming from SO far away and can't cancel now even if I wanted to. Nervously watching this bitch Irene make her way up the coast...

I think that if we found a way to cancel now, I'd seriously regret it if this all fizzles out so we're just going to keep forging ahead and make it into an adventure, even if we get stuck in Minnesota for a night (supposed to be flying into Albany on Sunday). Ugh.:distress:

Scaaaaaary! I'm from the westcoat of canada...I have no idea what to think of this...

Morgana 08-25-2011 07:04 AM

I hope that Mother nature turns Irene so that she goes out to sea and doesn't travel up the east coast like it's projected to do. Right now forecasters are saying that she is going to make landfall on the Outer Banks of NC (not far from where we live) then shoot straight up to New England where it will fizzle out near Connecticut. It would be nice if forecasters could nail down (no pun intended) if Irene is going to visit Boston or not!

Here's wishing that Irene turns to sea and that Stevie's show goes on!
