At least she recognizes it.
I took my cousin with me to the ATL concert (who, for the record, is three years older than me, and as a side note, we have another cousin named Rhiannon so it's not as if our family is unaware of FM/Stevie) and she said she didn't recognize a single song. She stood up most of the time just out of like, courtesy, but she just stood there. I was like.. what. I figured she would at least know EO17, Dreams, Rhiannon, Landslide, GDW, Stand Back, L&L.. I figured she had to know ONE OF THOSE. She didn't. I was appalled. |

Beautiful Child Landslide- such a beautifully written song...does she know that? I'm sure she'll tell you she thought the Dixie Chicks wrote that |
Must be a slow news day.

and to @amlyn yes she knows landslide. lol |
LOL.
On Twitter someone was confused on Gypsy. They said, "Wait, Fleetwood Mac did Gypsy? I thought that was a Stevie Nicks song." I had to explain to them that Stevie was in Fleetwood Mac and is one of their three songwriters. She had no clue. Oh, baby fans. They're so cute. |

Well atleast she knew the song? I can't imagine not knowing that "Edge of 17" was a Stevie song. Even before I became a real "fan" I knew that Stevie sang it and such. However, the other day my friend and I were driving and I was blaring "In Your Dreams" and she was looking at the CD cover and goes "Stevie Nicks she was in that Fleetwood Mac band right:distress:. However she kind of made up for it when she asked me how old she was...I told her and she about had a panic attack. She could not believe that she was 63. We both agreed that we would kill to look like her at that age

When I went to an Unleashed show at MSG and had 7th row, this family of 4, including 2 young kids, parked in front of us, sat through the first half and then left. WTF?? |

I think that those people get good seats just for the heck of it, and/or give tickets they don't want to their friends. |

 Once in a while I'll have someone confuse or interchange Fleetwood Mac with Stevie Nicks or vice-versa but to not recognize ANY of those songs. WOW. |

I think it is basically an age thing .Anyone 45 or more who doesn't know who Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks are or recognize the hits from that era were either in a coma in the last half of the 1970s and the first half of the 1980s or are developmentally disabled.

I'm not even kidding about this. I know a music director at a country station I can't talk music with unless we talk country and only country. I've tried. She gets about as far as the names of groups and that's it. And every time I try she says that she only listened to country back then and she only listens to country now. It's no wonder she ended up in country radio... I'm not saying all country fans are that way. If that were true, then I wouldn't know anything about Fleetwood Mac. |

This comment bothers me, because besides Allison Krauss and a few other country artists, I find country music to be bland. I like Mean by Taylor Swift, but the rest of her songs off her new album only stay with you because they get played to death on the radio. It's pretty bland stuff. If Italian Summer and some other songs were edited and got a ton of airplay everyone would see things differently. I'm also getting sick of groups like Bon Jovi getting airtime on country radio. I liked a few of their songs in the 1980s but even then they were just rock 101. It's gross to me that they have been championed on country radio. They haven't really wrote country songs. Stevie has. The country radio popularity thing has everything to do with MTV and VH1. They quit playing rock videos in the mid to late 1990s and concentrated on Soul and Rap and all that jazz. CMT and some other country television stations concentrated on country. No one is playing classic rock videos. As a result, country, soul, dance and rap songs kept getting requested and rock died. There is nowhere for Stevie to go. She has four songs on her new album that should be getting a ton of airplay on country radio, but I'm sure the "witch" persona is stopping that. |

Yes todays country music is not my cup of tea.Mix rap crap into country does not work for me.MTV.CMT.VH1 stinks now. I had not buy a new country cd since 2006.Which was Carrie Underwood. That was a gift for my late sister for Christmas or her birthday. |
