Indy Cancelled

Just confirmed with the venue that the show is canceled. I won't buy more tickets if she ever schedules here again. Her management must not think we're important enough to keep us on the schedule.

mezzoforte 08-15-2011 09:22 AM

Maria, I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope you and your daughter get a chance to hear her soon, but this must be a huge blow.

Mac Attack 08-15-2011 09:33 AM

Sorry to hear this. What a downer, three days from the show.
I don't know why they couldn't re-schedule. The logistics wouldn't be easy but not impossible.

Travis 08-15-2011 09:35 AM

I really don’t get this. Instead of moving the Atlanta show up 2 days (not much notice for fans), it should have just been re-scheduled for the end of the tour (still annoying but certainly enough time to let fans plan accordingly) and just keep Indy in tact. Nothing that hasn’t already been said, but I feel the frustration.

wow! i'm sorry to hear this. must be because of that accident they had there. was she even playing at the same venue?

*hugs* to you!

sara1998 08-15-2011 09:38 AM

The stage incident happened at the fair. Not the same venue.

oh dayum. sorry love.

Regina 08-15-2011 10:26 AM

I'm so sorry. I am so not a fan of her management or whoever booked this tour. They've made incredibly stupid moves and cost a lot of people a lot of money (not to mention heartbreak).
And, they've broken trust. It's just too much of a risk to buy a ticket out of state to get stuck with the cost of hotels/airfare, etc.

gypsy4life 08-15-2011 11:01 AM

This would have been my first time seeing her.....I hope she gets better soon...too bad all the way around

KarmaContestant 08-15-2011 11:04 AM

So sorry, guys! What a bummer, for sure. Maybe the show will be rescheduled later?

HejiraNYC 08-15-2011 11:04 AM

I'm sorry if I am sounding unsympathetic, but: GET OVER IT. Seriously. Yes, it's a bummer. Yes, it has messed up people's schedules and/or bank accounts. But that's life- full of unexpected turns of events (which is why they invented travel insurance). There's no need to take it all so personally and to point fingers in blame. Make lemonade out of lemons. Given Stevie's recent history, buying tickets to any show is a bit of a crapshoot, let alone a show that involves airplanes and hotels. I would rather Stevie cancel a show than to have her stressing out over giving a sh*tty, less-than-100% performance. I'm sure she feels bad about this, perhaps more than y'all ever will. Nobody wins here, especially if y'all harbor a grudge.

BTW, I have had three Stevie cancellations this year alone.

Not all of us can afford 3 cancellations. Have fun at one of your shows.

And what would a Stevie tour be without cancellations??

tabruns 08-15-2011 11:16 AM

I had a cancellation during her Trouble In Shangri-La tour, and a postponed date during the Fleetwood Mac Behind The Mask tour (that latter one was kind of funny....they were supposed to play Sat night but postponed it to Sun night. Sunday night they played and the band was baffled that the crowd was somewhat muted....well the crowd was muted cuz it was *Sunday night*...everyone had to work the next day! lol).

fumidesigns 08-15-2011 11:18 AM

WELL DAYUM! Ed has spoken honey!

Wow, that's a bit harsh don't you think? A lot of people are out of money (myself included) and very disappointed at the last minute cancellation. I don't think it's too much to want to vent to fellow fans about it.

Considering she canceled Indy during TISL as well. It feels a bit personal.

I think venting is one thing (and very understandable), but it's another thing to accuse people of bad intentions. And even if the show was canceled due to poor ticket sales (which didn't appear to be the case last time I checked), that's their prerogative. Sometimes it's up to circumstances that are simply beyond Stevie's personal control.

Again, sorry if I am sounding unsympathetic. But I have been there, trust me.

i understand both of your point of views. it sucks a show got canceled but that's life guys. s-h-_-t happens ya know? i am happy, yet sadden, to report that webster hall was my very first cancellation!

Macfanforever 08-15-2011 11:28 AM

To come to think about.Did Stevie cancel out of any of the last Casino tours in the past few years including the FM unleashed tour,CV tour. Not last Mays shows.plus the Heart and Soul tour not included.

I'm wondering if the outside shows are the problem for her.

I agree .Yes I'm still alittle ticked about the Webster/AC show.and NOT rescheduled.Stevie's human too.

SapphireSister 08-15-2011 11:35 AM

I feel for you guys and am so sorry for the disappointment but things could be a lot worse. You or a loved one could have been standing under the stage that collapsed at the state fair. Now that would suck.

i need her to be healthy! that's all i pray....let this lil woman be healthy!

oh and *looks up to God* please let her do JB!!!!

There were a handful of cancellations for Unleashed- I think they were somewhere in the West. All I remember with certainty is that when FM came back from the cancellations (Tacoma? Vancouver?), Stevie sounded dreadful. Admittedly there were a number of other shows throughout the tour in which she seemed to be under the weather.

All of us are in the same boat.Stevie knows that some fans come from out of state. at lease give a better notice for the travelers like most and probably the whole ledge board are travelers.

Regina 08-15-2011 11:37 AM

What is wrong with venting hours after you hear an announcement that something you had been looking forward to for months is cancelled?

No one is pointing a finger at Stevie.

I remember a few months ago, people were A LOT more sympathetic when the Webster Hall thing was cancelled. I don't believe I read one "get over it" back then. What changed?

I agree on that one.I'm a Sugarland fan too.I could be dead too if I traveled the fair tours.

I was at both those shows...no cancellations there. Stevie was awesome.

Exactly!

Eugene 08-15-2011 12:05 PM

"Illness" has become LiveNationspeak for "we didn't sell enough tickets and we're going to lose money if this show happens".

Went through the same thing with Elvis Costello @ The Borgata last month.

But fingers were being pointed at the management and the promoters. Are they responsible? Who knows. The fact is that people vented about Webster without swearing off Stevie forever or blaming people. In essence, people got over it.

WelshWitchPMD 08-15-2011 12:32 PM

Melacine and Maria I am so sorry that your show got canceled. I was one of the Webster Hall crew and while I know she was sick I'm still somewhat bitter about it. I just wanted to chime in and show my support. Melacine, I am a big fan of your blog by the way.

Ah, I see. I live in New England and have never had to "travel" to a concert, so that didn't occur to me.

daniellaaarisen 08-15-2011 12:41 PM

This is making me pretty damn nervous about flying back east to see her again...
