Stevie on KLOS 95.5 right now.

Just turned the radio on and heard Secret Love playing for the first time, and she is being interviewed by Jim Ladd.

Is it a new interview?

It's 1:30 in the morning here... guess it's not quite so late on the West coast, but dang.

Gypsybecca 08-02-2011 12:30 AM

Yes, it's live, and she just called Aboeba Records the 'last record store' and she thinks the signing is 'going to be a riot, a good riot.'

I listen to this radio station everyday and no mention that she was going to be interviewed tonight, so Iguess I missed the first 20 minutes, and I have no way of recording this right now!

WildHearted 08-02-2011 12:35 AM

Listening to it now :) Thanks for letting everyone know!

She keeps singing, and she sounds great.

aleuzzi 08-02-2011 12:36 AM

I like this post. It's not a poll for a least favorite song!

LilyRose 08-02-2011 12:36 AM

Link to listen online. They're playing FWIW right now.

Thanks for posting the link...wasn't smart/awake enough to do so!

Doesn't Stevie's voice sound so different? Have a feeling she's been smoking.....no!

LilyRose 08-02-2011 12:48 AM

It does sound kind of husky, but I don't think she'd go back to smoking. Maybe because it's getting late? That happens to me.

I absolutely adore Jim Ladd. He gets some of the best interviews with her. <333

I agree, and I love Jim Ladd too! I love how he always seems to throw Stevie's songs into his theme nights...if it's a color theme, then he plays Gold Dust Woman, if it's a number theme, the Edge of 17.

She sounds kind of young. And she's being really softspoken.

GoldDustWoman22 08-02-2011 12:59 AM

Thanks for the heads up!!

Just for the record I would love to read "40 pages of airy fairy poetry form Stevie Nicks"

Is it just me or has she been more self-deprecating lately??

And yay their playing "Wide Sargasso Sea"!!!!

Right?! And then I would need to sit down with her and have her tell me all about them. HA!

I love that he's playing these tracks. I'm falling in love with the album all over again.

Gypsybecca 08-02-2011 01:01 AM

More great Stevie quotes!

About Wide Sargasso Sea- " It's like I wrote this book."

And, "She's white, but she's really black."

wth?

Lol. I think she meant that she dances like a black girl, but the way she said it..

LilyRose 08-02-2011 01:11 AM

Poor Lori. I wonder how many times she had to go to Phoenix to get forgotten sh*t.

RockALittle250 08-02-2011 01:11 AM

They're playing Annabel Lee right now.

Gypsybecca 08-02-2011 01:13 AM

Yes, poor Lori! How old is Al that she has to pick him up.

Stevie's less than sober right now, and I love her even more. ;)

GoldDustWoman22 08-02-2011 01:16 AM

She. sounds. so young!!!!
There she goes again about Lindsey taking melody and lyric pills again  Truth be told though I am extremely excited for BOTH of them about their music right now:thumbsup:
And poor, poor Lori having to go to Phoenix every few minutes:laugh:

That kills me about the Lindsey melody and lyric pills. I just decided that if I meet her at Amoeba, I will hand her a prescription pill bottle labeled, LINDSEY'S MELODY PILLS, and tell her to take 2 with her brandy. Do you think she would laugh?
:xoxo:

Macfanforever 08-02-2011 01:22 AM

nevedix20 08-02-2011 01:32 AM

LilyRose 08-02-2011 01:34 AM

What was Jim alluding to there? "Miss Ghost"?

Now I'm even more intrigued by Ghosts Are Gone.

Gypsybecca 08-02-2011 01:36 AM

She just said she's been up for 24 hours...Why Stevie?

Please don't push yourself so hard that you get sick again.

"Miss Ghost" is a song by Don Henely, so I guess for some reason he thought it was about him.

I wish Stevie would have continued on the subject of the shared lyric with Angel (and, for that matter, Sweet Girl). Would love to hear what she has to say about the connection between them.

She sounds so tired now.

In the book the character "passes" as a white woman, but she's really a black woman.

Ah, okay. Thank you.

And I agree, I wish she would have gone on about the connection.

LilyRose 08-02-2011 01:44 AM

Now Lindsey is her "dear, sweet friend".

What happened to "we're not friends"?

Oh, Stevie.

WildHearted 08-02-2011 01:46 AM

"My dear sweet friend Lindsey..."

She's back to adoring him again, if that wasn't already obvious.

She just said that they wanted Lindsey to play Sturgis with her but he couldn't get out of a prior commitment so Waddy is filling in.

Macfanforever 08-02-2011 01:56 AM

Hum. Why she was up for 24hours.

Gypsybecca 08-02-2011 01:58 AM

Also, if you want to help soldiers, donate to the USO. She has a charity but doesn't understand it, so don't send her money, send it to the USO.

Instead of just saying the above info., she had to throw in how it's not like when she and Lindsey joined FMac and they just handed them $200 a week. Then she said there are tax consequences. ilove how she personalized the most serious things and throws in a Lindsey story.

Gypsybecca 08-02-2011 01:59 AM

Now Karen' s in the mix?
:]

Ok, she explained where the Woodruff charity money goes.

Waddy is great but LB will be sorely missed. Stevie says she was specifically invited to Sturgis to do "Soldiers Angel." I never liked the song until I saw it live at the Wiltern. Without LB I don't get it. He got through to me with his playing and reverent harmonizing. It just won't be the same...but I'm not knocking Wad.

WildHearted 08-02-2011 02:06 AM

Lol @ Stevie sounding out February. "FEB-U-AR-Y"

"Well, inspired by Dave, who was probably inspired by Annie, which then inspired me to be inspired by Lindsey."

LilyRose 08-02-2011 02:08 AM

I think Stevie should be running off no sleep for every interview she does from here on out.

UnwindedDreams 08-02-2011 02:08 AM

o boy. not sure how that will go over without lindsey. maybe they can play lindsey's recorded vocals to go along with hers. i guess soldier's angel will be one of the seven IYD songs in the set.

Me too. This is golden. It helps that she and Jim go so far back.

"How very 80's of you."
"I know!"

Gypsybecca 08-02-2011 02:11 AM

She calls the Beatles A Day In The Life- "The Beatles car crash song."

WildHearted 08-02-2011 02:13 AM

Sending Lori back to Phoenix is becoming a running joke.

LilyRose 08-02-2011 02:13 AM

I'm in love with her. The end.
