New Songs This Tour..
 

Stevie was just on KBCO in Boulder and said that she will be doing 6 or 7 new songs this tour, she said she normally wouldn't - but it went over so well at the Winturn that she is doing it again! :-) :blob2:

Oh my gosh, I love her. I love that she wasn't offended by South Park portraying her as a goat.

Also, I'm in shock about the new songs. Like, I kind of thought you were April fooling us (in August).. but I love that he didn't ask about it or anything - she wanted to make the announcement.

I wonder if it will be the same songs she did at the Wiltern. I can't imagine her doing Soldier's Angel without Lindsey. Also, I wonder if she's going to keep the other songs the same or if those will change too. There was no Landslide at the Wiltern, right?

This has been done before; don't forget that on the TISL tour, six songs from TISL were performed at the beginning (but it ended up being four by the end of the tour).

How do I listen to this?!?!

well I hope for all you folks who are going to see her on this "very short tour" that she stays true to her word. :nod: Sounds like the makings of a fantastic show!

:shocked: :lol: OMG, she actually has a sense of humor about herself. But I wonder if it makes her extra self-conscious about goat throat. Her warbly vibrato was the first thing that drew me into the cult of Stevie; I would hate to think that she toned it down because of South Park.

If anything, I was wondering if she will be doing anything with Michael Grimm. I finally got around to seeing his videos on YouTube, and I am intrigued. He's not exactly my cup of tea because he tends to sound a bit like Michael Bolton :eek:. But he seems to have potential as an artist. I was wondering whether she might attempt "Soldiers Angel" with him, but then again, it might be too "sacred" to attempt without Lindsey.

I would be surprised if she performs "Soldier's Angel". I think "Secret Love", "FWIW", "Moonlight", and "In Your Dreams" are the definites. The other 2 or 3 are toss ups.

Man, this will knock out a lot of her staples in her set. :eek:

My suggestion? Wires and tasers.
If anyone in the orchestra section tries to sit, give 'um a small (but annoying) shock. If anyone tries to go for a potty break, taser 'um. If they reverberate a little, Stevie will probably just think they're dancing.

Seriously, I cringed every time I saw people sitting en masse, during her new stuff during TISL, or leaving their seats to go out for beer. And, she noticed. That's why we got the whole "I'm singing Landslide for the 90,000th time" mentality.

I freaking love this, it's so adorable. :laugh: It's like, yeah, I'm a goat. But I'm still worth the entire ****ing army.

I can do without Soldiers Angel, I like it once it gets going but the beginning guitar is annoying to me. It is the only song I generally skip past on the CD. Of course, if Lindsey shows up that is another story.

agreed. And if it's 7 I think she'll do soldier's angel. She won't do cheaper than free without Dave. I think she'll Play 16 songs. 7 IYD songs and 9-10 staples: stand back, outside the rain, dreams, sorcerer, gold dust woman, Rhiannon, landslide, edge of seventeen, rock and roll, maybe if anyone falls.

Ahh this is so exciting I absolutely cannot wait until the 20th...Stevie here I come:thumbsup:!! And I'm so excited about hearing her new songs. This is definitely what I wanted to see!!! I love the South Park comment! She just has the best sense of humor in the world. And I don't know about anyone else but I would love to be on a plane with Stevie. Especially since she's a "talker" and I personally have stuff that I would love to talk to her about :nod:

I would LOVE to know if she watches it enough to know who Mr. Hankey is!! He's my fav!

I hope she does not sing Rock and Roll. That is over for me. She should stick to her own songs. I don't think we'll hear Gold and Braid, Outside the Rain or HAEWAFY, but this is my wish for this show.

I'd never watched an episode of South Park either, not in it's entirey anyway, until I watched the episode where they mistook the goat for Stevie. It was hilarious. If nothing else, watch that episode.

As far as new songs go, I think you guys will get everything from the Wiltern except SA and CTF.

Based on her enthusiasm in multiple interviews, I'm likely to believe that she'll actually do 6-7 new songs.

However, I will believe it only after opening night.

We all remember how much she hyped up her Vegas "Dreams" shows at Caeser's a few years ago, right?

That's what I'm thinking too...

Not expecting SA or CTF, but they'll probably do all the other new songs she did at Wiltern (FWIW, Moonlight, IYD, Annabel Lee, Secret Love, Ghosts Are Gone) plus I'm hoping for YMBTO or New Orleans :nod: Wide Sargasso Sea would be the BOMB as well!!

I'm also wishin' for You May Be the One ... it's got such a great blues feel and intenseness...this is going to put icing on the cake of my summer!
