Holy mother I cannot wait:blob1::blob1: Love the picture of Lindsey.

TrueFaith77 07-29-2011 12:56 PM

It's so phallic.

WeepingWall 07-29-2011 01:57 PM

Am I the only one here who hates the cover? Lindsey is a great looking guy - so why has he been so heavily photoshopped in such a strange way? The word placement, as caroline79 said, and font is really off. It is pointless for me to go through a list, as there is nothing about the cover I like!

And the vibe it gives off is so different to the title and title track, in my opinion. While I don't think Gift of Screws was a flattering photo of him, I thought it worked well as an album cover, and the font was done well. Under the Skin I thought was very bland, and looked like someone's first, self-released album art, but at least it was a real photo. I thought Jeremy Cowart said he was doing a shoot for the artwork? The stuff on his site looks nothing like this.

I am super excited for the album, I just wish I was also excited by the visual side.

Nico 07-29-2011 02:59 PM

I also am not fangirling over the cover. The placement of the font looks strange, and Lindsey looks like he's, um, sick or something. His coloring is worrisome, like he was suffering from food poisoning when they took the picture.

It matters little because none of Lindsey's covers have ever been artistically compelling, aside from maybe Go Insane and I still find the pic HE took of himself on the cover of Under The Skin to be one of the most beautiful, as well as his sideways OOTC. ;)

I'm indifferent to this cover but it is a HUGE improvement over the Gift Of Screws cover. I mean, honestly, LB. I know your proud of your wife's talents but couldn't you have showcased some constructive criticism?

Sigh, the floating, uncentered "we".

The black jacket and shirt look nice enough that I'd like an unobstructed picture of him with the wording marginalized on the top, bottom or sides.

The font/words/writing whatever you want to call it look horrible. LB's name is decent but Seeds We Sow is simply terrible.

I don't mind the picture of him, but I do mind that.

snicksfan85 07-31-2011 08:56 PM

It's listed on Best Buy's website too.

Well, chalked the cover up to his version of the Street Angel cover.

....cannot wait for this record!:blob2:

snicksfan85 08-04-2011 09:25 AM

You can preorder it now on Amazon.

Nico 08-04-2011 10:42 AM

Thank you, and I will!

jbrownsjr 08-04-2011 06:41 PM

Really looking forward to this album..

I have to agree the album cover looks a little unprofessional....

Never judge a book by it's cover....

LB Freakazoid 08-04-2011 07:41 PM

What's even more awesome is how fantastic the two songs they collaborated on turned out. I freaking LOVE TP and I think him and LB should do more, more, more things together.

"Walls" from the She's The One soundtrack and "The Man Who Loves Women" from The Last DJ. I'll look for them on utube...

Nico 08-04-2011 10:06 PM

They aren't on there! There's only live versions but the studio ones are with LB. :distress: Sorry I couldn't share those with you.

Oh yeah. I know "Walls", not sure on the other. I count "Sea of Heartbreak" they did with Johnny Cash too.

Nico 08-04-2011 10:08 PM

I'll check out the Johnny one, but "The Man Who Loves Women" is a really great little song. I dig it. I dig so much by TP though. I consider him an amazing songwriter and he considers Lindsey to be brilliant (if you check out his book he talks about LB in it).

Thanks for the info Nico! Will check out for sure. I love TP too - agree he is def an awesome songwriter.

louielouie2000 08-04-2011 10:36 PM

How do y'all think this self-release will work? Will the album be available in brick & mortar stores, or will we have to order it online?

That's a really good question. I would venture to say it might be available at Best Buy as far as in-store, but I think that's goign to be about it other than online sales.

Nico 08-04-2011 11:26 PM

I'm so excited!! DavidMn, I know you must be getting pumped especially. I know you'll be seeing him live of course.

He's being distributed by Fontana which is a "indie" arm of UMG. So, I'm thinking Best Buy, Barnes and Noble, FYE, basically any place that has a more extensive music section. Also, more major indie stores like Amoeba, Grimey's here in Nashville, ear X-tacy in Louisville, etc.

But I think they will all be in limited quantities.

bangdrum 08-05-2011 11:47 AM

Most Barnes & Nobles I've been in have a TINY music section - top 20 sellers or such. I doubt you'll be able to find the album in the average B&N unless LB has a sudden resurgence on the charts! (Not that that would be a bad thing...)
