so out of tune! sorry pass!

Sanne2 07-17-2011 11:13 AM

She looks great

RockALittle250 07-17-2011 12:54 PM

Wow, this woman looks like Stevie's twin. Pretty impressive!

ontheEdgeof17 07-17-2011 02:08 PM

Not the best vocals, but she has the look and the setlist down pat.

David 07-17-2011 02:17 PM

A lot of the Stevie clones, like this one & the one in Southern CA, do great work. But they usually wave their scarves too much. You gotta capture just the right amount of scarf-waving: not too little & not too much. It's an art. I've seen some of these clones scarf-wave wildly all through a long set, & that takes away the coolness of it.

The guy who used to post here -- Jazzmen or Jazzman or something -- did just the right amount of it.

And also, you can't wear the Rhiannon black chiffon & top hat for GYPSY!! I mean, c'mon, Stevie clones! Learn which clothes go with which song.
:xoxo:

She looks just like her but doesn't sound anything like her imo. Honestly in my opinion people need to just appreciate Stevie instead of trying to BE her...

darklinensuit 07-17-2011 05:16 PM

This woman has obviously worked hard to get the right look & moves. (In fairness, I wish Stevie still kicked like that.)
As for the voice, it sounds pretty authentic...for Stevie on the Whole Lotta Trouble Tour of '91.:o

When you say this, I realize that the Stevie in the Big Love video was an impersonator, because the real Stevie would never skirt-swish that much. Real Stevie would only flick her skirt about once every 30 seconds or so and she wouldn't do it quite as . . .vigorously.

I think Stevie fans that think they know everything about her or pick on her every move, creepies me out!

Macfanforever 07-17-2011 11:51 PM

Yes. we are the worse critics. We know her moves.Have her open for Stevie.

This.

I guess I just don't get the appeal? I mean it's fun to play around as Stevie, but to dress as her and all that...idk

fringed n fab 07-18-2011 12:13 AM

The only thing I will add is I don't think us impersonators walk around in all our stuff day to day. Really it's a bit much and not very practical to go around looking like that all the time. Which is why Stevie herself most likely saves it for the stage. I don't personally comment on the other impersonators and just let everyone do their own thing. We all have our corners of the world and space to do it in to me.

I can think of a few instances where Stevie swishes her skirt while twirling around. They're so floaty and pretty I don't see how anyone couldn't. I do when I have them on  :)

I don't swish my skirts, but when I have on a full one, I do take my hand and raise it up as I walk. I feel very Victorian when I am doing this!

Wow, Julie looks, sounds, and moves amazingly like Stevie! If I didn't know it was Julie I would of thought it was Stevie herself!

Agreed. I never could quite find the right word until you just said it- creepy.

To each his own though. Vegas has tons of impersonator shows that evidently people like to see.

I think (and I'm going against my rule of knocking anyone) but I think what turns some people off is when they feel it goes beyond having fun and feeling that some people actually think they are her. I think there's a fine line you don't cross when dressing up as Stevie. There will always be only one Stevie. :) I'm proud just to sort of represent her when I can and help keep that signature look alive as an impersonator sometimes because she may not always be performing and someday not around :( and all that'll be left is us loving fans and the general public to remember her by. But lets not go that far into the future because she's going to be with us for donkey's years from now  So lets just have fun and be happy she's still doing it and still performing for us!

I agree. I think what really creeps me out is when this woman said in her video on her site, before Gypsy "This is a song about going back to my roots" Or if she would have said "this is for you, daddy"

She looks quite like her. But I don't dig her voice.

dontlookdown 07-18-2011 06:36 PM

gross.

she can't sing.

awful.

Funny you mention that because if you watch her "promo" video on youtube there's a clip from Landslide and and she DOES say, " this is for you daddy".

So weird.

Macfanforever 07-19-2011 10:43 AM

I just spot this on Youtube. She's cute.love the hair.

Macfanforever 07-19-2011 10:52 AM

I totally get everyone has a right to their own opinions & I respect that. She may be use to people making opinions in the line of work she's in but sometimes comments can hurt. I've had to watch myself & 'think' before I hit the button. I guess I feel for her on this 'opinion'. I hope she doesn't post here or lurk. I haven't said anything to her & won't.
