The "Street Angel" Survivor Challenge - Round Five

Here is what you voted off in Round One:

Round One: Just Like A Woman
Round One: Jane
Round Two: Docklands
Round Two: Unconditional Love
Round Three: Maybe Love Will Change Your Mind
Round Three: Destiny
Round Four: Rose Garden
Round Four: Listen To the Rain

Onto round five...

Listen To The Rain is gone.. sigh. I voted for Street Angel aand Greta. It's getting so tough now!

darklinensuit 07-12-2011 03:50 AM

"Greta" & "Street Angel". The choice couldn't be any clearer for me, and I hate that this drek outlasted "Destiny".
I am pleasantly surprised that LILAR is still around, but also disappointed that it's doing better than "Kick It".

My favorites on the album are "Destiny", "Kick It", and "Blue Denim". I'll be glad if one of them wins.

Blue Denim and Kick It to go.

SapphireSister 07-12-2011 11:06 AM

The only one I really give a darn about is Street Angel. I can honestly say it's the only track I love on this album. I really like LILAR from RAL but not this version.

Street Angel and Love is Like a River

Neal 07-12-2011 08:55 PM

"Love Is Like A Rivah" and Street Angel"

markolas 07-12-2011 09:06 PM

I only voted for Kick It. I can't vote off any of what's left.

StevieNicksfann 07-12-2011 09:39 PM

Let the street angel find love is like a river and vote them off!

Kick it over LILAR people? Really??? :) My memories of SA are so deep that I can't hate on any of them too hard (ahem, cough, cough, just like a woman, cough) but the concert, the obtaining of the posters, agh. SA = <3

Love is Like A River and Greta. Hard choices!

Christopher 07-13-2011 10:18 AM

Kick It & hit the Street...Angel

KarmaContestant 07-13-2011 12:43 PM

I don't know how anyone could favor Blue Denim over any of these songs that are left, but to each their own. I'll be shocked if another song wins this.

Ditto - BD is pretty shabby stuff.

Blue Demin always wins these Street Angel survivor threads (at least as far back as I can remember, same w/ Rooms On Fire on OSOTM survivor). BD along with Greta or Kick It, are almost always the last remaining songs. I can see why Blue Denim has the most overall appeal. Though not a spectacular song in particular, its straight-forward rollicking rock beat, and catchy chorus make it the most non-offensive composition on this record.
That's whats wrong with SA for most hardcore Stevie fans, it's a very middle of the road, no frills record. It lacks the majick, mystery & intrigue of her previous and later efforts. That and there is no epic grand song or theme to be found imho. However, I still love Street Angel for what it is, yet ache for what it could have been.;)

For me it's the all-time dumbest lyrics that ruin BD. Tied with Bombay Sapphires for the worst lyrical "I dunno, who cares?" vibe.
