Don't Mick and John have homes in Hawaii? Or have I snorted too much Shake N' Vac this evening?

They do. I remember some documentary ending with them laughing on a porch or something in Hawaii.

Is this some kind of a trend? Is Stevie next?

yes, they both live in Hawaii. that's why i asked the guy - i thought he may have gotten different mac members mixed up and is actually talking about Mick. but he confirmed he's talking about buckingham...

But if LB is hanging out in Hawaii all the time, how will he whine about the others heading off there while he's stuck in the studio?

Simple! He'll build a studio in Hawaii and whine about how everyone's playing golf and he's still stuck in the studio! ;)

Something along those lines. No doubt he'll find a way;)

chiliD 06-29-2011 09:44 PM

Well, Kauai & Maui are still a ways apart from each other...there IS water in between them. It's not like they're all going to be living life on Wisteria Lane.

michelej1 06-30-2011 12:48 AM

Stevie may not have a house there, but she's always visiting. Nice to know the gang will be together (sort of) in their twilight years. Michele

I freaking LOVE Kauai! My favorite of the Hawaiian islands by far. I can't even...I wish I was there now.

Mick lives on Maui, John lives on Oahu. Think I've got that the right way around!

You have been to a few of the islands? You lucky thing you!!!!

I've only been to Oahu - I adored it. I would love to visit some of the other islands as well!

Well if all the boys have homes there, and Stevie visits a lot, then we may finally have them all bunched together at the same time to get that album made!

holidayroad 06-30-2011 07:18 AM

Maybe he's having a house built closer to Mick and John so FM can record there from now on, instead of having to rent another mansion (as they did for recording SYW).

Had a brief chat with Mr.Buckingham today at LAX - he was flying to Hawaii........

Yes, yes! What was he wearing?! Wait...I can probably guess the answer to that one!

I think this exodus to Hawaii is fitting nicely into Mick's ulterior motive of getting John, Lindsey & Stevie to reform the "Island Rumours Band" (he'll still be bugging Chris to leave the English countryside until they're in their 80s).

Actually, I was excited by this news because I sincerely do hope that the band will make use of Fleetwood's Island Rumours musicians and cultural flavor. I think it could add a lot. And wasn't Amy Winehouse's third album supposed to be Hawaii-inspired? Something's in the air.

Anyway, this is great news and I hope it does mean the Mac is going to be recording SOON!

And so say all of us!!! :blob1:

What with Lindsey's tour coming up, and the real possibililty of a new Mac album......it's almost too much to handle! :]

Meh... I'd be happy if he just kept releasing solo albums and occasionally had Mick and John contribute. I don't know how much more Lindsey and Stevie have got to say together these days. Their styles are too disparate and I don't see an easy way to reconcile them without just making a bland pop album.

Wouldn't that just be a dream come true?

I wonder if this is a permanent move, or just a second home? I know Lindsey has commented quite a few times about feeling like LA wasn't the best place to raise his family.

He's always running his mouth like he's campaigning for father of the year. :p I love the guy, but really...

The entire family was there - they were in the gift shop while he waited outside. I have had a history over a 30 year span of running into him all over the place - Nordstrom, Wembley in London for an Elton John concert, Anaheim at a Natural Products Show, so this was not an isolated incident!

Cammie 07-07-2011 03:06 AM

Lindsey and His Family !!!

:D Thanks a lot for the interesting Lindsey information!!!!
Hope The Islands are alive with the sound of Mac Music!:]

mylittledemon 07-07-2011 03:59 AM

Maybe he plans on retiring there in a few years. That's my guess.

Typical guy - let them shop while he enjoys a bit of P&Q outside, bless him!

It's a lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely place.
But it's the only, only, only, only, only place...;)

i've noticed that too, but those comments were mostly at the time of UTS tour, possibly at the time kids were just starting school... i've seen an interview with Keith Urban where he talked how he met Lindsey (who he cites as one of his guitar-style influences) backstage when Lindsey had a concert in Nashville and Lindsey was asking him about living there... he had similar comments during LBT/LB Crossroads episode. so it almost seemed like he seriously considered moving to Nashville at the time. but now it seems the whole family is very entrenched where they are (he talks about kids having their own lives around school now), so i'd be a bit surprised that they'd consider permanent move at this point... probably just a vacation home?

I remember him commenting on not taking the kids out of school to tour with FM like Mick would and I thought that was pretty funny. I got the impression that he didn't think much of Mick's parenting skills.

Though, to be fair to Lindsey, Mick hardly has the best track record when it comes to child rearing. Look what he put his first two daughters through while they were growing up. It's quite shocking when you think what they were actually exposed to.

...or maybe it measures the disparity in import the two fathers place on Fleetwood Mac.
