What one artists would you like to see Stevie do a one-off duet with?
Hey guys
I was recently watching Bonnie Raitt''s fantastic ...and Friends dvd and thought how cool it would be if Stevie did the odd unexpected duet with people other than Vanessa Carlton, Sheryl Crow etc. What if she randomly brought the odd person out during live gigs etc? I thought about this for a second and then I think I came up with a great idea that features one of my favourite arists... What about a duet between Stevie and Alison Krauss on Beautiful Child?? They're both such fantastic harmony singers and the contrast between Alison's voice and Stevie's could be beautiful to hear. Alison could also do a lovely, mournful fiddle solo during the break. I think it would be beautiful. I think it would be very restrained and not have the big notes at the end, I dunno how that would work, but I'd love to hear them try it! On that note, here are Heart and Alison doing a fantastic version of These Dreams (Stevie connection!) and what I have in mind for Beautiful Child. So, what random duets do others think would work? |

Perfect song choice! |
Sorry Dodfather, I'm not impressed. This is the first time I've heard AK sing(I know she's been singing with Robert Plant for many years). If I were at this show I would be greatly dissapointed that they had her sing These dreams. This was Nancy's biggest hit song and I would have been looking forward to Nancy perfroming it, not Alison. After 3 minutes of this I said fukc this bull*****. It sounds too kerokee to me.:sorry:

You may know her songs from the Oh Brother, Where Art Thou and Cold Mountain soundtracks? As for working with Heart I was as surprised as anyone. This is a very unusual style of music for Alison to do - she's a bluegrass artist - but I sill think it works. Oh well, just me I guess. |
Beauty And The Beast with Beyonce...
|
Real Tears with Russell Hitchcock
|
I love Alison Krauss, especially on songs
Forget About It Crazy Faith The Lucky One |
Another soft but powerful pretty voice like Alison's is Mindy Smith. I wonder if Stevie is aware of her or listens to some of her songs ever...
|
Huummmmm...Alisons a nice choice but I think I would like how Stevie wraps her voice around a male singers voice..I would go with a James Taylor or John Mayer or Robert Plant or even Tim McGraw...The truth is I always wanted a Stevie & Rod duet but not soo much anymore!

Taylor Swift... (;
|
Lady GaGa, for two reasons.
I think it would be pretty amazing, for one. And, nothing else would give Stevie as much exposure, and it would certainly help boost the sales of IYD. I'd love to see her do something with Heart as well, although, I already like to imagine it really is Stevie singing on There You Go. |
ok this will be a VERY weird choice and most likely get screamed at for choice of person ....not even thinking how many people will even not know or like the style of music that this guy is in....
Dani Filth band- Cradle of filth I would love to see Dani and Stevie duet on Sisters Of The Moon. especially with that in my opinion, the almost dark gothic'y sense i always pick up on when listening to it....im probally completely wrong. just a very nice vision in my mind that i would literally go out my way to see... which was NEVER happen... and i mean.... NEVER :( (vocal style below--- yes i know everyone will hate it.........) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BA2qNFZd7vM |
Definitely Haley Williams, female lead-singer of the amazing rock band Paramore. Not only does she have an amazing voice and performs in a band with a bunch of guys but they are very popular with the younger generation and have had several big hits including the song "Decode" from the Twilight soundtrack. It would be amazing if they would duet on Moonlight since they both already have the whole Twilight connection. Check her out! She is so young and so brilliant!

I'll rather eat my shoe than see Stevie do another disastrous duet with Swift. |

Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus or Cher.

Cyndi Lauper...she just did a great blues album. Stevie said in an interview she wants to do a blues album. Even if it were a blues cover I think it could work!

Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus or Cher.

I would like to hear Stevie sing with James Morrison. I don't really know what song they would do together - but I think their voices would blend very well.
|
I'd like to hear Stevie and Bonnie sing "Angel From Montgomery" together. That is such a great song.

Though, I can't offer any suggestions at the moment. James Taylor is a great choice! |
I to see her do a duet with a male country artist.Old or new.It doesn't matter.

Alison krauss has one more Grammys than any other woman...infact she is second only to a symphany conductor for most Grammy won...I think she has won 26 or 27...like Dolly Pardon, she is a class act and can any song and make it her own....her cover version of Heart's "These Dreams" is another example..

Stevie should totally do a duet with Florence Welch, Florence is already a fan, and the exposure would also be good.
They both have the same presence on stage, Florence albeit a bit more like Stevie was back in the day. They could totally rock Edge of Seventeen and Dog Days Are Over together... |

I"d like the unexpected duet, something a little more ferocious:
Stevie Nicks & David Bowie, covering his 1982 song "Putting Out Fire." or something even more unexpected like a singing with Depeche Mode, Robyn (acoustically) or Bryan Ferry. |
Grace Potter

I would like to see Stevie sing a duet with Bryan Adams. I don't know, mabye it's the raspiness in both their voices, but I think it would be a killer song. I think Bryan Adams can be a nice compliment to Stevie's voice, IMO.
