Still no copy of IYD from Barnes & Noble...!

Can you believe it? Over a month now and I've not received it. Every time I email them they change the date that I should "wait until." It was June 3rd the last time around well now that's passed... now they've changed it to June 8th. WTF?!

fumidesigns 06-06-2011 05:09 PM

Ummmmmm I would get my money back and still get the cd from them!!!!!!! Write that letter!!!!!!!!

markolas 06-06-2011 05:35 PM

I'm glad I didn't wait for mine. Geez.

LOL... I have emailed them 5 times about it and I get a different response from a different person each time. It's BS.

Lee 06-06-2011 08:27 PM

I can't understand the problem. I got mine from them no problem. I think at this point, I'd just cancel my order & get it somewhere else. Of course, I'd give them a piece of my mind first.

Sorry that you're having problems with them.

Lee

mylittledemon 06-06-2011 08:43 PM

They admitted there's no way to track it with the method they used. So why not send another copy with tracking? Not that hard. :distress:

TerraRhiannon 06-06-2011 10:48 PM

That's why I didn't order from them. I don't even live near a Barnes and Noble, can you imagine, it would take an eternity for it to get here.

Macfanforever 06-06-2011 11:05 PM

Wow .What in the hell happenA .month later.

mylittledemon 06-06-2011 11:11 PM

I dunno. I pissed some lesser deity off I guess.

I'm pretty miffed with Barnes and Noble, as well.

Their website has said their bonus track edition "is currently out of stock" for weeks now. I didn't order it right away because I prefer to buy in stores when I have the choice. But my nearest Barnes and Noble is 50 miles away, and when I happened to be nearby a week after IYD's release, they were sold out and only had one copy on order. So I decided to buy online, but when I got around to it a few days later they were sold out, and have been ever since. I check daily, and also use the "find in stores" feature, all with no luck.

Was their exclusive a limited release or something?

Macfanforever 06-07-2011 12:33 AM

I had a problem with Ballbuster. oops Blockbuster Video years ago ordering some Stevie'FM video tape.maybe was the VHS HBO concert or the VHS Mirage show or something else of them.I got it after playing phone tag for a month.Never dealt with them again.

It's the version that had "My Heart" on it... though, WB might've had that one for sale too

Sadly, this is one of the reasons why Barnes and Noble will go out of business.

maybe they just can not keep it in stock? That would be kinda nice in a way...

I was about to say. I don't mind. It and Borders are so overpriced. Whereas I actually believe Amazon is the greatest company in the history of Western civilization.

I pre-ordered the bonus disc first thru Barnes and noble and when I got a notice it will be delayed I cancelled it right away and ordered the bonus copy thru Warner Bros. Stevie site to get the fan edition one with the lithograph and got it with in 3 days. If the litho bonus edition is available go thru the warner bros site instead its worth it and the litho is gorgeous love it.

I got a backup plan, thanks to Jake ;)

I do miss local bookstores though. Browsing.

But the pricing . . . I once had a member discount AND a 25% coupon and I bought the Sopranos dvd set at Barnes and Noble for 40% off the listed price and I still paid more than I would have at Amazon. Borders originated in Ann Arbor, Michigan, which is near and dear to my heart. I hate to see them driven out of business, but I can't keep fighting the good fight. Cost is sky high and the selection has dwindled down to next to nothing as well.

With Amazon, if they don't have it directly, you can find it in the Market place. There are probably used IYD copies already available there.

yeah... it's sad because the cool place in town to get new (and used) stuff went out of business only a few months back. It was called "Real Groovy"... I don't know how they went out of business because their prices were pretty good, and they were always busy. The only other place to go really in Welly is "JB Hifi" which is like a Best Buy outlet but about 1/4 the size of a Best Buy store.

StandbackStevie 06-11-2011 04:52 AM

I hope you do get your copy at some point that is a shame my cousin used to work for Barnes and Noble in Naples,Florida and he about 30 other employees got a pink slip back in April. I do hope you get your copy did they take your money and no product? or just not sending it to you.

darklinensuit 06-11-2011 05:20 AM

I worked for B&N many years ago. Since it was on a college campus, we were union. B&N suddenly came in (took over the store after negotiating a contract with the school) & did all it could to bust the union. Was a pretty sleazy situation for a lot of people. Was many years before I would shop at a B&N.

They refunded me my purchase cost of $22 saying they couldn't send me a replacement as the version with "My Heart" was no longer available. So much for pre-ordering. ;) :distress:

KarmaContestant 06-11-2011 04:51 PM

Much to my surprise, a free promo copy of In Your Dreams arived in my mailbox today from a drawing I entered at Classics Du Jour. So random!

mylittledemon 06-11-2011 05:07 PM

hey thats groovy! free swag!

Macfanforever 06-12-2011 01:56 AM

I wonder if it would be easier to have somebody get the cd from B&N in the states and ship it to NZ.I dont know what the cost factor will be with the shipping and the other charges that follow. This is to bad B&N has delayed her cd.
