Little things that I miss
-Sharon walking over to Stevie's mic to sing her "well I hear you" part on Edge of Seventeen
-Don Boyette -The Enchanted-era forehead jewels -Stevie's elaborate wardrobe -Christine McVie -The SYW tour cardigan (hated it at the time, but looking at older pics, and decided it's kind of cute...she just wore it into the ground) -Bootleg trading -When Fleetwood Mac concerts weren't so predictably rehearsed and contrived (I'm talking about song intros, interactions between SN and LB, etc) -The phrase "Shangri-Lalian" -The 2003 SYW tour bangs (shoot me now for saying that...I LIKED THEM!) |
Hmm. Al Ortiz is a great bass player. Has way less stage charisma than Boyette, though.
The SYW tour cardigan? Wow... it made her look like a biddy. I do miss Christine McVie too... to quote that clown in Seinfeld... "You're livin in the past man! Yer hung up on some clown from the sixties!!" |

I miss a lot of things about the Enchanted Tour- Frank on guitar(ok I thought he was cute), Mindy Stein , I liked the intro with the reading of the definition of the word, and finally the set list how I would love to hear Sleeping Angel again :) |
WAY miss Sharon joining SN @ mic. Wonder why she thought that was no good anymore.

MISS Miss Christine still HATE the cardigan, as does she. i think Lindsey ordered her to "tone it down" on that tour. don't recall bangs on SYW tour. i thought she had a side part swept off of her forehead. thoughful list, though. i enjoy your posts! |

A few more:
-The high note in Fall From Grace on "make sure you sureVIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE" -A really rocking "Rhiannon" -FM embracing the penguin mascot -Opening with "Outside the Rain"...I'll be the first one to complain about a boring setlist, but there's just something about hearing the opening chords of that song to get you REALLY energized and into full-on Stevie Concert Mode :-) |
I definitely miss the forehead jewels and penguins too.
I also miss the full on Rhiannon sleeves. Stevie only unfurls them for like the 30 second bridge of the song this past decade. I HATE that. I also miss the wind machines they'd put on Stevie back in the '70s. They gave her such atmosphere and presence. I am glad she has brought back the crescent moon necklace this past decade, though. That used to be the #1 thing of hers I missed. :) |
What the hell is the Say You Will cardigan?
|
LMAO about the big mac stares. Whoa.

And as for things I miss, the "Stand Back" cape. Just adds something to the spins. - Jake |
I forgot - I also miss full-scale "Rhiannon", with Lindsey having time to rock out with the guitar before the mellow "Dreams unwind" part.

First, a grouching session (mostly because I didn't finish my first cup of coffee yet). Lindsey did not make her wear that granny sweater (which I actually had no issue with, either). He probably did ask her if she could tone it down, and in typical cut-off-your-nose-to-spite-your-face fashion, she came up with this. And he probably DISLIKED it, so she wore it for two years.
I would. Anything to make a point;-) Now, I miss...oh, shoot. I forgot what I was going to say! Uh...I miss new clothing. She has a designer pretty much on call and...we see the same stuff over and over again (cue Everyday in the background). Oh, the canned speeches! So funny. I have a friend who I was standing next to--front row--who was kind of giving the speech along with Lindsey (for my entertainment). He noticed her doing it and laughed. But at least, we don't know now if he's going the art route or the film route. Or the big machine/little machine route. Stevie has the edge here because she loves going on tangents (my favorite thing!) |

I also miss Outside The Rain as the intro song...it's so perfect.
and... -the Tusk beret and hair bun -Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You -the more raw GDW wail -the SYW Sara red cocoon shawl |
Stand Back dance, pose-sequence type thing with back-up dancer (can't remember his name). It's terrible and wonderful at the same time and I can't stop watching.
|
the stand back shimmy from 2005
stop draggin my heart around seeing Stevie's hands this Rhiannon: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7sgV5...eature=related (IMO, the best one of the past decade) |

I miss... a full tour with new songs !

You can totally see the "Desperate Housewives" Terri Hatcheresque over botoxed brow that Stevie was talking about going on here. It is clear here WHY she chose to trim her bangs for the second leg of the tour. Her forehead/eye muscles are just DEAD. |

I also miss Outside the Rain as a show opener. Those opening notes brought out so much excitement for me!
I miss the funky little dance she used to occasionally do (starting at about 13:44): |

If she wants to keep this in the setlist, then she totally needs to rearrange it. This hasn't worked in years....for me, since the Street Angel Tour. |
I miss the square microphone!

or ....... maybe she was trying to de-sexify herself because of the man standing to her left. or..... she heard that rumour that if you dress like a biddy all the young boys wanna sit on your lap. #imjustsayin |

I miss: Christine McVie (a lot)
LauraTN on The Ledge Stevie playing the tambo more like she did on 'The Ghosts are Gone' at the Wiltern. |

But, we have to remember that 99% of the pictures taken of her are from an upward angle. That angle is not flattering for ANYONE. But, no excuses for "The Cardigan." |

I've often wondered why she doesn't rework them somewhat. Change the key a bit if she has to. Or else try singing them in a softer voice (like she sings the verses of moonlight on the album) where she is able to more readily access her higher register. Although judging from the video of Moonlight in the recent concert I noticed she didn't use that soft voice during the live version. For some reason I think that she feels like she's got to belt out everything in a concert. I remember having the same complaint during the SYW tour when they closed with Goodbye Baby. I love her soft voice but I don't know where it is in concert!!! |
