Oh dear... which of the turds is smelliest? I guess Empire State takes that dubious honor.

Well as usual I love all Lindseys songs - I fell in love with Mirage because of Lindseys songs!
But if I must choose I guess it has to be Book Of Love, but it's causing me pain :distress: |
Lindsey's songs on Mirage are terrible... :sorry:
I had to vote for Can't Go Back, even though I could of easily voted for the others. |
If I were to vote for a song, I would very hesitantly vote for Can't Go Back. But again, it's a Lindsey song. And guilt refuses to allow me the pleasure of a vote. I shall sit in the corner now and play Kumbayah while you all discuss.

Mirage is so hit or miss or miss or miss or miss for me.
Empire State, bye-bye. :wavey: |
Like much of his Tusk material I consider these more solo songs. Is Stevie on any of them?
I vote for Empire State, but I am obviously in the minority here because I like Book Of Love and Oh Diane. In fact, I'm making a best of Lindsey disc and Book Of Love is on there. Oh Diane was on there at one time, but I cut it (the song has a bit of a hook but doesn't go anywhere). Empire State is the weakest, but I don't hate any of them. |
Empire State. What a slap to the city!
Can't Go Back is one of my favorite Lindsey songs. |
Empire State..... blech.
I like the others. |
Oh Oh Diane, why you so ugly?
|
I don't hate any of these songs. They're more interesting to me than some of the Tusk songs. However, none of them are my favorite either. Still I think I'd be just as happy if he added any of these to a setlist as I am to hear EOTW played.

Of course I am going with Empire State, the only Fleetwood Mac song I really hate.
I love Lindsey but I can't deny he has put out some really lackluster songs on Mirage. Even though I do like Oh Diane and Book of Love they are certainly not the best songs of his career. I am also very found of Can't Go Back, except for the "clown" part...ugh. Not too familiar with Eyes of the World though. |
Empire State is great...compared to Oh Diane.

I really love all of Lindsey's songs from Mirage except for Oh Diane. I could play the rest of his Mirage tracks today and still love them as much as I did in 1982.
|
I am in the minority because I LOVE Empire State lol. Oh Diane has my vote for least favorite.
|
"Can't Go Back". I really like "Book of Love" & don't mind the others at all.

Can't vote on this one, just like I recused myself from the Tusk polls. I like all of LB's songs here.
|
Where's all the votes for "Oh Diane"? I thought that Ledgies really hated that one!

I always liked "Oh Diane" but I put together a playlist of Lindsey singles and whenever "Oh Diane" comes on, I want to skip it (I don't. But I want to.). I don't think I would feel that way about ANY of the other songs, including the sublimely silly "Empire State."
|
They aren't his best group of songs but I still find "Oh Diane" and "Book Of Love" so much fun. I voted for "Empire State." Any other album would have been extremely difficult to near impossible for me. But Mirage isn't his strongest collection. From then on it was all uphill so I'm not hating.

No contest, "Empire State" is his only dud on this album.

Empire State
Horrible. |
Was torn between Book of Love and Can't Go Back, since both are horrendous. Flipped a coin and went with Can't Go Back :blob2:
|
Although I'm not really of fan of Lindsey's songs in general, I kinda like some of these particularly Book of Love and Oh Diane.
I went with the majority and voted "Empire State". |
With 22 votes, "Empire State" wins least favorite Lindsey song from Mirage.
