Will this cd will be the last.
Hi Again. If this cd nose dives into the gutter for some stupid reason. Will Stevie continue to record or she will throw in the towel and say no more recording solo cd's.We waited 10 years for IYD .Now if she continues to record another solo cd .I hope in a smaller time frame then she did with this one.I dont beleave in 7 more years she will be on the Edge of 70.For our sake I hope she will continue to record solo and with the boys of FM.

I have a feeling this is her last solo record. She has done everything she can do with this record. Poured her heart out and tried everything to promote it. The one hope is her joy at making the album with Dave Stewart. I think he wants to work with her again and maybe he can get her to do another. I don't think we'll see a Fleetwood Mac album. However, I think there is a good chance for Buckingham/Nicks album. Fleetwood Mac is basically BN anyway.

Well ITD didn't take 7 years, It took less then 1 year. It just took a long time for her to "want" to do an album. Stevie now says shes in the mood to go right back into the studio. I think we will get another album within 2 years, either Fleetwood Mac or Solo.

This album has a decidedly "last album" feel about it, I hate to admit. All of the referencing to past lyrics and albums, not to mention the incredible overall quality. With the reviews being so incredibly glowing, in combination with sales being relatively lackluster, it kinda seems like Stevie would be inclined to let this be her last effort.
Like others have said, I do feel there will be another Mac or Buckingham Nicks album, though. Stevie will want to go out on top with Fleetwood Mac... she won't want to leave Say You Will as the band's swan song. I love the idea of another Buckingham Nicks album, but I don't think Stevie could leave Mick & John out in the cold like that. She knows they rely on her & the Fleetwood Mac name for paychecks. |
IF Mick & Lindsey sign off on Dave Stewart producing, Fleetwood Mac will do another album...and for this one, Stevie will bring along Sharon & Lori for the feminine companionship she missed on SYW without Christine.
If Mick & Lindsey balk at Dave producing, I see Stevie doing at least ONE more album with Dave and refusing to do a Fleetwood Mac album without him. IYD has shown me that Dave Stewart has done for Stevie Nicks what Jeff Lynne did for George Harrison, Tom Petty & The Traveling Wilburys. |
I don't understand how people can wish for a BuckinghamNicks album when that's what Fleetwood Mac is right now  Are You guys just against having a great rythym section and brand name attatched to an album of songs written performed by Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham. Are we opposed to letting Mick and John have jobs

I do think its Stevie's last solo studio album we probably would get another greatests hits package down the road. I do see a maybe new FM album or Definetly Buckingham Nicks album as well. In Your Dreams definetly has a feel of a last album by Stevie.

Regarding why I think a Buckingham Nicks album would be neat is a bit more complex, though. They wouldn't be obliged to make a signature Fleetwood Mac sounding album for one. And I wonder how much of Stevie and Lindsey's head butting is because they aren't forced to sit in a room with just two of them and figure out/deal with their musical and personal differences? I think if they were just put in a room without distractions and knew they had to make music together, without any crutches or egos to prove in front of other band members, they just might make some truly incredible music. Or they might murder each other once and for all. |

"Fleetwood Mac" is the balls out electric album with the best rhythm section in rock. (since Bill Wyman has retired & left Charlie on his own with the Stones...and the Derek & The Dominos rhythm section: schizophrenic Jim Gordon is behind bars for killing his mother with a hammer & Carl Radle dead from pickling his liver, so they're out...and Paul McCartney & Ringo Starr don't have John & George to play behind anymore...Richie Hayward of Little Feat passed away, Berry Oakley of the Allman Bros died in '71...so those two bands' rhythm sections are out) |
Unless she dies soon, she will do another album. She seems to have gotten over her fear of making new music and her touring crutch seems to be fading. I think Stevie will do something with FM next year and then start on another solo album after that. I actually think Stevie will make two more albums. As we all know, Stevie is very into the number three and I see her albums before IYD as being parts of two trilogies. BD, WH, and RAL were the cocaine laden albums during Stevie's prime. TOSOTM, SA, and TISL were Stevie's dark klonopin years falling from grace, hitting rock bottom, and rising back up again. I think IYD starts a new trilogy for Stevie and she will end her solo career with her 9th album, 3 sets of 3. Of course this is just my mystical speculation, but I can definitely see it happening.

NO
I think making this album sparked a lot of creativity. If she is having fun (and not overly concerned about sales so much) she will make more beautiful music. |
I say no. People have said "shes done, its over, no more albums" since the other side of the mirror. ESPECIALLY. After she released timespace, then again after she released the box set. People went on and on gloom and doom with "after an artist put out a boxed set that is their "swan song" for sure. And " Oh with every fiber of my being I KNOW that I'm right blah blah blah" they were wrong then and they will be wrong again.

That logic didn't work for the Lakers this year and Phil Jackson getting his fourth "threepeat" (aka "trilogy"). I don't think you can rule out the Enchanted box set, FMac's BTM & SYW from those "trilogies"...those were just as transitional as her solo albums were. She even based her tour set list from a BOX SET...some/most of those songs haven't seen the light of day in a concert set again. I think as long as Dave Stewart is at the controls of the next Fleetwood Mac album, you'd HAVE to include it as part 2 of the next Stevie Nicks "trilogy". With the process & results of IYD giving her the newfound confidence of recording again, believe me, she's going to be a force to be reckoned with when Fleetwood Mac reconveins...recon...oh, hell with it...when Fleetwood Mac gets back together to record their next album. LOL!! I think y'all are going to hate me just as much being on the GOOD side of my Stevie Nicks fandom as you did when I was the negative ogre of Stevie Nicks-land. Again, be careful what you wish for! ROFLMFAO!! |

I hope not! I think Dave Stew has done an excellent job on the record... the two of them together have made, I think, her best record in the last 20 years. I still have a randy for TISL of course... but I think if they are judging whether to make another record on SALES we might be disappointed. But Stevie has said on camera that she didnt care about whether this album sold or not... so if she keeps that attitude we may yet get another bewitching group of songs before she 'retires'

Ok, let's get Fleetwood Mac into the studio with Dave Stewart...Stevie can bring Sharon & Lori...and Waddy. Lindsey can drag Neale & Brett into the studio, too. Nothing's going to bring Christine back, so why did I even mention it...oh, just so I could type "Christine" again. ;) Then, when all the recording's done release a 3 CD set...disc 1: Fleetwood Mac; disc 2: Stevie Nicks "solo" album, disc 3: Lindsey Buckingham "solo" album. Everybody's happy, chiliD can finally retire from message boards into that great message board in the sky and we can all call it a day! |

Third, a completely reunited Fleetwood Mac would get a lot of press which would help album sales. |

Dave has really worked wonders on Stevie's creativity, enthusiasm and attitude towards risk (the last albeit from an incredibly low starting point), but it does worry me a little just how dependent she is on him now. If anything were to happen to sour that relationship, then I just think she would be a bit lost, go back into her shell and fade away?
Furthermore, taking that SN-DS relationship into the SN-LB environment could be hugely volatile, now that SN and LB are supposed to be getting on better, because it wouldn't just be Stevie using DS as a buffer - she could actually end up properly in the middle, trying to keep them both sweet, and failing. I also simply don't believe that LB is creatively receptive. Maybe he's changed, though. I think one more FM album is 99% certain, for several reasons, all of which have been given by others already. And it's my hope that 'Soldier's Angel' will have convinced LB that he and Stevie do actually sound nice when they sing together, with their natural voices, and give the chipmunks and playing sh*t at the wrong speed a fukcing rest. Doesn't she say in the IYD linernotes that she thanks Liz Rosenberg (or somebody else, idk) for helping her making "one more album"? Sounds like this might be her last one (for now)
|
^^^ Stevie's grasp of English is so imprecise, she could easily write 'one more' but mean 'another'. But who knows?

In Your Dreams is her solo swan song (last solo album)
New Buckingham Nicks album. Release original Buckingham Nicks remastered for 40th anniversary in 2013. Release all solo albums remastered with bonus tracks as Box Set (like Euythmics did) New and last Fleetwood Mac double album (like The Eagles did) with Christine. (produced by Dave Stewart) (Only tour United Kingdom for last FM album w/Christine) Of course, this is in my dreams. |

These words are exactly what I'm thinking. |
I am fine with this being Stevie's last solo album (although I suspect it won't be). It's her masterpiece. Meanwhile, I DO want more Fleetwood Mac albums. I don't even need Buckingham Nicks II (though that would be fine as well) because Fleetwood Mac is/could be essentially Buckingham Nicks+ the greatest rhythm section of all time.

her next solo cd will be her last. she's gonna tell ONE story, her last story. 13-14 tracks........beginning - end. it deep, loving, scary, funny, scandalous and heartbreaking. she's gonna blow our minds with this one!!!! there will be no BN album. IF, and lemme stress IF, there is another MAC album, Stevie will not take great part in it. i think it'll be more of a LB album than MAC. (maybe, just maybe if DS is apart of the next mac CD stevie will have more to say.........maybe). her last cd will come AFTER the MAC album which means they need to record NOW! |
At this point, I'd be a lot happier with remasters of all the solo albums, including 2nd cds with all the demos & outtakes for each album. Then, she can work on her last solo cd. I'm not at all interested in another FM record if it's going to end up sounding anything like SYW, which I expect it will unless they can get Christine back, which obviously isn't going to happen...

I actually think Say You Will would have been a really great Fleetwood Mac album had Stevie's material been produced differently. I actually think the songs she contributed were the most solid set she has ever turned in for any Mac album.

maybe this is wishful thinking but I kinda think she'll do another cd. I think she enjoyed this experience way too much to not do it again. As far as Fleetwood Mac goes, I think they're done. Christine's gone and for me, it's just not Fleetwood Mac without her. I honestly can't see a Fleetwood Mac album at this point surpassing anything Lindsey or Stevie could put out on their own.

Hmm....in terms of feeling inspired, Nicks and Buckingham are both definitely in the "let's record more albums" phase. In terms of whether it's economically feasible, that's an open question. I'm guessing that since she largely recorded her album at home that the 52,000 sales of In Your Dreams for the first week are enough that the record company didn't lose money on the album.
Where it might be an issue is whether Nicks can accept albums of hers not going Gold anymore. I mean she's had an incredible track record: 1 multi-platinum, 1 double platinum, 3 platinum, and 3 gold. The only albums she hasn't had go at least Gold are Crystal Visions (which probably will pass Gold this year), Soundstage Sessions (which, being a live album, she probably doesn't expect to go Gold), and now In Your Dreams (which may or may not go Gold, depending on how long her sales keep going). If she's not comfortable with her albums no longer going Gold, she may stop just for that reason. I do think a new Fleetwood Mac album, even without Christine, would have a good shot of going Gold. But I liked someone's idea of getting Christine back on board to do a final double Fleetwood Mac album. I'm hopeful that Nicks will join Buckingham in thinking that what's important is getting the music out there. Buckingham has been on an album-releasing tear lately and I'm hoping Nicks starts following suit. And I hope that Mac decides that its fine for Christine to just record with them. |
