Still heartbroken over the Webster Hall show... and I just received this email from Warner Bros:

Almost makes me cry!

We posted at the same time... and I said the same thing... makes me want to cry! Spent a fortune going to NYC (although it was a great trip) for a once-in-a-lifetime show... it kinda made me sad to get this email! :(

Heartboy 05-09-2011 07:47 PM

There's three threads of this subject, where's the merge police?

Almost makes me cry!

Exactly my feelings in the thread I just posted...I'm sorry, but I'm seriously bummed out still and this is NOT making anything any easier. What about the East Coast Stevie? I feel like this confirms that nothing will be rescheduled now :(

Buddy 05-09-2011 07:50 PM

I just got the same email. Is this legit?

mezzoforte 05-09-2011 07:51 PM

NOT OKAY!!!!!

WHYYYYY can't her show be on the east coast? FRAMMIT.
(Yeah, I'll try to be happy for the west coasters, but I'm still bitter about Webster)

Depending on when it is (not sure whether it's her actual birthday?) I might try to go, but the chances are slim...

yes--it's from WarnerBrothers.

Amlyn 05-09-2011 07:53 PM

I feel totally shafted! This is just so unfair to everyone who was going to Webster.

fumidesigns 05-09-2011 07:54 PM

i got the same damn email! *sucksteethextrahard* I CAN NOT GO TO LA RIGHT NOW!

Well one could argue that the entire Webster Hall show was unfair for West Coast fans.

Good for Stevie, and good for the fans on the West Coast who never would have been able to make the Webster Hall gig, even if it had gone on as scheduled.

I understand your point but we were locked, loaded and ready to go and had the rug pulled out from us at the last minute. Had Webster never come into play to begin with, yes, we'd all be jealous of the west coasters, but much less so.

Yeah I lost $300 on it but I know others lost a lot more. It makes it kind of hard to justify a trip to CA. Although the Stevie freak in me really wants to just go. I've never been to LA, what an excuse!

WildHearted 05-09-2011 08:01 PM

Wish I lived on the West Coast and/or had the means and time to fly out there. Stupid school.

I was literally just there, less than a week ago. I love it there and would move there if it was in the cards now. But, it's on a Thurs night. I can't swing ANOTHER 2 days off of work this month. Had it been next month maybe. Ugh...oh well.

If you can go, do it. I'll have to live vicarously for this one.

Don't get me wrong, I do feel awful for everyone who had tickets for Webster...I really, really do.

But the first reaction I'm seeing out of a lot of people (and I'm not singling you out, because I don't think you have) responding with anger that there is a show scheduled for the West Coast, and I don't think that's fair to the fans who are never able to make it to the East, which tends to get favored in the touring department. Or for people to say that it's not fair that she's doing a show in LA...that's silly.

Hell, I live in Ohio. Talk about being in the center of disappointmentville.

fumidesigns 05-09-2011 08:02 PM

Y THE HELL CAN'T SHE JUST HAVE A DAMN BDAY PARTY AT HER HOUSE W/ SOME DAMN BALLOONS LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE!? Y SHE GOTTA BE ALL EXTRA AND DO A SHOW?! Y CAN'T SHE JUST HAVE KAREN'S ASS GO TO CARVEL AND GET A DAMN ICE CREAM CAKE, EAT IT AND GO TO DAMN BED!? Y SHE GOTTA BE ALL EXTRA LOVING TO HER FANS ON THE WEST COAST!? DAMN THIS WOMAN SOMETIMES I SWEAR!

i am, however, thrilled that she's feeling better. praise God for that!

i've never been to LA either so it's an excellent double excuse but.........

WHY SHE GOTTA BE ALL FANCY AND DO A SHOW ON HER DAMN BDAY?! Y CAN'T SHE JUST TELL HER FRIENDS TO DROP BY THE HOUSE, DO A POTLUCK, GET SOME CUPCAKES, CHIT CHAT AND THEN GO TO BED!? Y IS IT NECESSARY FOR HER TO GRACE A STAGE, AT AN INTIMATE VENUE, WITHOUT ME THERE AND SING ALL THE DAMN SONGS THAT I WANTED TO HEAR AT WEBSTER HALL?!

I know your point wasn't personal. It's just that this just seems like salt in the wounds for those of us that were going to Webster and here, less than a week after it was canceled, she reschedules the outing but 3000 miles away. Just hard to swallow at first thought. That's all I'm trying to say. And for me personally, I was just in LA, so it bothers me even more cause there's really no way for me to swing going back there in 2 weeks.

I'm ecstatic for those on the west coast who can go and those who can travel to go. I'm just dissapointed for myself. Especially since we have heard NADA about any other tour dates this year except for the 3 already scheduled on the west coast next week.

Anyway, hopefully in few mos from now we will all have a few Stevie shows this year under our belts.

Perhaps that would be the perfect night for our next NYC area Ledgie outing. We are learning how to drown our sorrows well and can continue the practice.

daniellaaarisen 05-09-2011 08:13 PM

I'm $1000 in debt right now.

LA is a 2 hour plane ride for me at around $200. The ticket, if at all like Webster, will be around $100. My best friend lives there so I won't have to pay for anything else.

Only 300 ****ing dollars and I'm sure I can't go because I owe my dad.

I hate everything. Seriously, I hate EVERYTHING. I just flew across the country to see this performance and look what happens.

have fun! i wanna go back to the islands soooooooooooooo bad!

For me, it's not about being "jealous of west coasters" or feeling anger towards those who have the opportunity to go ... I live in Indiana, spent close to $2000 for the Webster Hall show... A once in a lifetime thing... I have been a Stevie fan for 30 years, and just knew this show would be everything we had waited for... it was crushing to have it canceled (I know she couldn't help being ill) BUT! If I am truthful, the birthday show is kind of like rubbing salt in an open wound... I know Stevie doesn't owe me (or anyone else for that matter) anything... her words and music are gift enough... but this is... I don't know... it has just kind of deflated me when I read the email. I want to be happy about it for all of those able to attend... but selfishly, even though I had a GREAT time in New York City, I feel a bit let down.

Very true, not everyone is able to travel from coast to coast so easily. I'm sure this event would be happening whether Webster was cancelled or not, and I really don't think it's to make up it at all. I'm not disagreeing that Webster being cancelled was like a kick in the stomach to those who were going, I would have been upset at the time too but I wouldn't go as far to say that it's unfair for this event to happen because of a previous show being cancelled.

StevieRox81 05-09-2011 08:16 PM

If the show at The Webster had never been scheduled, the fact that she is doing this new show would not have bothered me at all. Stevie is only human and I am not upset with her at all for BEING human and getting sick at an unfortunate time that caused The Webster and The Borgata shows to be cancelled.

What I am upset about is the timing of this new show with the recent cancellation of The Webster. I understand scheduling wise it probably works best for Stevie to do something on the West coast this month. But this is not what you do after you release a press statement that you, "hope to reschedule," and then reschedule The Webster show "in disguise" now as Stevie's birthday party across the country.

I feel completely burned as a fan by her management.
