If you gamble it, she will come.

louielouie2000 03-24-2011 02:14 PM

I wonder if her promoters/management have finally told her to give up on playing the "sheds" which she can no longer fill?

I think that would be the logical assumption. 4 new dates, all casinos, kinda adds up.

michelej1 03-24-2011 02:19 PM

The news is coming fast and furious. There's a new date every day.

casinos around here - Wouldn't be shocked to see her playing one of the local casinos (Bret Michaels is playing one tonight not far from here and Blue Oyster Cult is playing another on Saturday)

Casinos here in Oklahoma pay an artist a guarantee no matter how many fans attend, the artists always wins out here (Saw that Meat Loaf will be playing nearby in April)

LOL! Good one.

Hard to believe they will ALL be casinos though, right?

(Stevie filled the Santa Barbara Bowl to capacity last August.) I think these casinos are offering really good money for artists in order to try and bring in more gamblers, so this is something that is probably pretty hard to turn down for most musicians. I've noticed that a lot of big name stars are doing casino shows.

The white hot Lady Antebellum, who dominated the Grammys several weeks ago, are even playing mid-size casino gigs (they played the Hard Rock casino in Biloxi earlier this month). It's apparently the so-called 'new normal' for the live music industry.

To be fair nobody's filling them like they used to.

SapphireSister 03-24-2011 06:27 PM

Who wouldn't prefer the casino venues? Cheaper ticket prices and less people and you may just catch Stevie at the craps table after the show.

They certainly aren't cheaper at the Vegas casinos- they're more. (which never made sense to me, except maybe they have to make up for all the tickets they comp.)

Top tier TM price for Caesars this time around is $175. My Dad offered to pay as an unexpected gift for me, so I'm going. I couldn't find anything good during the presale today though, so I'm waiting until Saturday regular onsale.

Albuquerque

The Albuquerque show scheduled for tomorrow, May 11th has been postponed to Friday, May 20th.

jkmaletic 05-10-2011 08:29 PM

Yeah, I just noticed that...

She probably needs more rest before doing a full-blown show. The Friday Indio and Saturday Vegas shows are still up though. If I need to cancel my Vegas reservations, I think I need to do that by tomorrow to get a refund. This is making me a little nervous.

I concur. This is unnerving to say the least! I have tickets for Vegas, and having just endured the whole Webster Hall last minute cancellation after traveling from Denver, I'm biting my nails about right now. I'm thinking that this recent postponement does not bode well for Fri & Sat shows. It's one thing to do one song live on national TV being a bit under the weather, it's entirely a whole different animal performing a whole set.
It looks like it's a day by day situation, which is not sitting well with me or probably anybody traveling to these shows with hotel and airline reservations.

jkmaletic 05-10-2011 09:15 PM

Well, I just finished watching the Ellen performance, and this is how I viewed her- She seemed still sick, but like she was feeling better, like towards the end of a sickness. She didn't seem as bad as I thought she was going to be.

I'm HOPING that they chose to postpone the NM show so she could get 3 more days of rest in (plus maybe a little rehearsal) to be good for the friday and saturday shows. Vegas is always big so I'm sure she's not going to want to reschedule that one if at all possible. On the other hand, if she's sick, she's sick...

I called my hotel and you have to give them 48 hours notice for a refund. That would be tomorrow for me. I REALLY don't want to drive 5 hours to Vegas if Stevie cancels. It would be different if I was flying (45 minute flight). We just have to wait and see and keep praying!!!

OMG Becky!! Oh well, gotta do what you got to do!!

But, but, I have hotel rsvp and a rent a car for the Indio show...... and I'm soooo ready to for this show!!

Believe me, it's crossed my mind several thousand times:wavey: I hope it works out for you Dani, I'll say a little prayer, even though I'm agnostic:angel:

Are they going to still sell tickets for the show? Ticketmaster isn't selling them at this time. I can go to this one.

The Casino web site indicated that the show was sold out, maybe thats y no tix on TM

SapphireSister 05-11-2011 10:57 AM

Now I'm getting really scared about my show Friday night in Indio being postponed to the following week when I'm going out of town. That would suck! Oh well at least I'll have a front row ticket for some deserving fan and I'm still going to the bday show if I score a ticket today.

They would still have the search option on Ticketmaster. TM just says tickets are not on sale at the moment.

wayner 05-11-2011 11:02 AM

was just a thought

right now i am more worried about vegas, i've got myself , my wife and 2 others supposed to fly there from NY tomorrow

If I Were You 05-20-2011 07:13 AM

Stevie will be playing tonight at Sandia Casino:blob1:. I'm going, however, I won't be able to post a review until tomorrow as I am technically challanged and don't use all the latest technology. I'm sure the set list will be the same as Vegas (BTW I didn't post a review for that show as some other ledgies posted basically what I would have posted). It's been a bit chilly here with frost on the windows this morning so I hope the weather won't affect Stevie in any way.

Jondalar 05-20-2011 07:33 AM

there are no tour dates for this album, are these old or something? Is she just finishing out what she has left?

As of a month ago there were NO SOLO DATES planned, scheduled or discussed beyond May. I asked. They were waiting to see how the new record sold when it was released. I think they were hoping for strong sales and then MAYBE they would do a few more dates starting in July but a big solo tour seemed to be off the table entirely. I will know more after the Wiltern show. I think it's shame if she doesn't go out more but it has more to do with money/business than her desire for sure.

GavinBrown 05-20-2011 09:17 AM

I have a gut feeling that she WILL do a solo tour this summer in the states from July-September...they may be holding off on an announcement til the next single drops for promotional purposes.

This drives me crazy! Why on earth go through all the effort to put out an album like this and then never perform the songs live for an audience? What the hell are they thinking?

You know if the Mac tours next year, we're not going to hear these songs then, either.

jkmaletic 05-20-2011 12:49 PM

So any ledgies going to the show tonight? ??

Are people under 21 allowed at Casino shows?

Keep in mind that EVERYONE tours in the summer and you can't just pull that off last minute as most acts have had this planned for months. Scheduling becomes tricky when you are trying to fill holes instead of plotting routing. This is why IF she does go out, it will be in select markets on a small scale.

do you know anything about heart and soul being extended? rod seemed pretty sure about that happening again.

I don't have confirmation but I have heard the same rumblings that someone else posted last week. I see this as more plausible (although disappointing) than her going out solo. Rod is guaranteed money, less pressure and bigger venues. She can't say no to that--especially since she might be looking at sheds in the summer if she goes solo.

Macfanforever 05-20-2011 04:26 PM

Those of you that are going tonight.Have a awesome time and be safe.Take some photos and vid's for us.Ok on the note that if she does come back out later with Rod.At this point she probably have to turn her setlist upside down in order to play some new tunes from the new cd.Dump the covers and sing the digest versions or a medley of tunes in order to keep her time short. But if she alone .she can open right up.anyway have a blast tonight guys.

UnwindedDreams 05-20-2011 04:26 PM

i just cannot believe that nothing has been announced yet for the summer. hopefully after the wiltern show we'll know her direction in promoting this record. i guess heart & soul, if it happens will be july and some of august to give him time before he starts at the colosseum on august 24. rock out tonight in albuquerque!

i just hope that if h&s starts again, she gets more songs. at least 15. that's her max anyway. Stevie only did 12 (including leather & lace). she could do her usual (stand back, if anyone falls, outside the rain, dreams, sorcerer, gold dust woman, fall from grace, Rhiannon, landslide, edge, love is, rock n roll) and 3 new songs (secret love + 2 others)
