Least Favorite Lindsey song from Tusk

Moving on now to voting for your least favorite Lindsey song from Tusk.

Single choice, but may have a "sudden death" round if the results are close.

Poll closes in 4 days.

I really have grown to love each and every one of these songs over the years. Tusk is a master work. The only reason I had to chose What Makes You Think You're The One is it's jarring sequencing following Sara. I've always felt it's overly obnoxious to snap the listener sharply back awake after the dreamy Sara with that snarky drum intro. I fully realize that's the point, but it's never really been endearing to me.

That's Enough for Me
It's nearly impossible to make a decision. Just listened in Tusk in its entirety yesterday and was amazed.
For me it was a toss up between Save Me a Place and That's Enough for Me. Love them but slightly lesser than the others.

I like em all except WMYTYTO and Not That Funny. I can tolerate NTF but thw other one is too annoying.

elle 05-07-2011 04:40 PM

WMYTYTO - really?!?!?

wow, can't believe WMYTYTO is leading as the least favorite - one of the essential angry/hurt LB songs (this recent blog said it so much better than i ever could - http://www.fluxblog.org/page/2).

That's all for everyone is pretty bad, and much worse than other LB tusk songs, imo.

WATL, Tusk, and WMYTYTO are my favorites from Tusk. followed closely by the ledge, not that funny, and i know i'm not wrong.

darklinensuit 05-07-2011 05:07 PM

I had to go with NTF - just bitter and no fun, unlike "The Ledge", which is at least bitter & bouncy.
I really like WMYTYTO - both the lyrics & Lindsey's vocal especially.

There's not a track I don't like on the whole of Tusk, but I went with NTF cause I find it's much better live. Punchier.

Aw, I love that one. Very Beach Boys-inspired, I'd like to hear him try something like that again.

Artemis 05-07-2011 05:53 PM

That's Enough For Me, it just irritates the hell out of me.

caroline79 05-07-2011 05:58 PM

Looks like we got 4 tied so far!

I don't see how people can like I Know I'm Not Wrong but not like Not That Funny when they are basically the same song

bluefox4000 05-07-2011 06:25 PM

That's All for Everyone. goes nowhere, does nothing for me.

Thats All For Everyone is one of the very best on the album. I love all Lindsey's songs on Tusk. Still to this day his best group of songs on one album FM or solo (SYW and GOS are very close)

My vote is Walk a Thin Line. The only sub par song of his in the bunch.

wow!:lol: you and i seem to have completely opposite taste as far as lindsey's tusk songs go.:p for me, walk a thin line is the most beautiful ballad he ever wrote. (although i think it should be completely stripped acoustic, like different covers of it are).

CADreaming 05-07-2011 10:16 PM

Save Me a Place. Drag, drag, drag....

Sleepless-Child 05-09-2011 05:09 AM

But...but...but i love Save me a Place :(. I think the lyrics and music are brilliant together. I also love Not that Funny.

That's Enough for me is the most annoying song ever i think, though. Sounds like some agressive country music to me. "YEAH! YEAH! YEAH!", yeah, shut up, Lindsey.

Agreed!!! Its the only song on Tusk that I skip.

MacShadowsBall 05-09-2011 12:06 PM

Well this one is gonna be fun! I mean look at the results so far!

shackin'up 05-09-2011 02:27 PM

I'm gonna hold my vote. I will never ever manoeuvre myself in a streetfight about Save Me A Place with Johnny Stew again. It'll cost me my online existence over here.

By the way. I can pick out a least favorite Lindsey song from every friggin' album he did. But not on this one. I really think these tracks are all sheer brilliance in 9 totally different ways. An impossible effort, but he did it on Tusk.

ontheEdgeof17 05-10-2011 11:29 AM

That's All For Everyone.

Don't like this one.

KarmaContestant 05-10-2011 11:35 AM

My vote went to That's All For Everyone. Save Me A Place was my alternate choice... I had to decide which one was less worthy of skipping.

chiliD 05-10-2011 12:02 PM

"Not That Funny" hands down.

Like "Come", the studio version just bites, but live versions kick butt.

tabruns 05-10-2011 01:21 PM

Originally I would have checked most of these songs. I just didn't know what to make of Lindsey's songs when Tusk first came out. I did like "Tusk", "Walk A Thin Line" and "That's All For Everyone" right off the bat but the rest had to grow on me.

"I Know I'm Not Wrong" was the fourth song that I started liking. Then "The Ledge" started appealing to me. Eventually "That's Enough For Me" finally caught my ear.

"Not That Funny" still strikes me as odd but I can see why others would like it. I didn't know how to interpret "Save Me A Place"s gospel tinged sound and at first I thought it dragged a lot, but oddly enough I find myself singing this song once in awhile.

I ended up selecting "What Makes You Think You're The One" mainly because its the one Lindsey Tusk song that just hasn't registered with me. I hear it and I just think "bad production".

MacShadowsBall 05-10-2011 05:25 PM

I don't like Lindsey's Tusk songs. :distress:  :sorry:

I went with "That's Enough for Me".

xxxmx 05-10-2011 06:12 PM

Save me a Place is SACRED to me. So funny how songs hit us all differently...

My first couple votes will be easy, but there are a couple I will never click against.

louielouie2000 05-10-2011 08:34 PM

It's fascinating to me how all of these songs are running neck and neck. I don't think I've ever seen such an even poll here on the Ledge! :)

Geez don't remind me louie! :distress:

We'll more than likely have a 24 hr poll with the top songs. Anybody wanna volunteer to serve as a tiebreaker for that potential poll, let me know. :)

MacShadowsBall 05-11-2011 11:21 AM

Poll closes in about 1 hour!

MacShadowsBall 05-11-2011 04:31 PM

Poll Status!

We got a tie between "That's All for Everyone" and "Not That Funny". Check the Attention: 24 hour Lindsey/Tusk Poll on this forum.
