'Extra's Stevie Nicks Fix: A Secret Journal Past Loves and New Album Rock and roll's gypsy goddess Stevie Nicks invited "Extra's" Jerry Penacoli to her home and revealed the one true love of her life, and opened up her secret journal for the first time One of the entries included a recent taping of her appearance on "Oprah." The singer said, "Well, it's done, and I think the interview between me and Oprah went well, even though she's not easy to win over." When Jerry asked why, she explained, "Well, I think, God bless her, she has talked to a lot of people!" As Nicks and Jerry continued to flip through her treasured journal, Stevie said, "This is the original lyrics to 'For What It's Worth' (singing) 'You said that even if I left my girlfriend, packed up my stuff, loaded my car, drove down to your house...'" The former Fleetwood Mac singer has sold 140 million albums, and after a decade is releasing a new album, "In Your Dreams," recorded in her home studio. "It was like renting a beautiful old southern mansion and making it a magical album," and added," I am thrilled." While her music career continues to find success, Stevie's personal life remains a bit quieter. Nicks told Penacoli she does not have a boyfriend because "I choose not to. I chose to be an artist." Reminiscing about her past loves, she revealed she experienced "love at first sight twice." She confessed, "One person, you know. He's a famous rock star... it's not important to talk about him, but what is important is that I saw him from across a room and I fell in love with him that day." The second time was with Fleetwood Mac's lead guitarist, Lindsey Buckingham. "He was absolutely the romantic love of my life." Stevie speculated, "I think if we had not moved from San Francisco to L.A., both of us feel we would have gotten married and stayed there, and we also believe we would have still been famous." The songstress has no regrets "because that was our destiny." |

lol i swear she says that all the time about lindsey when she is happy with him -ha ha!!!
|
But has she ever been so blunt before?

Cased closed.
Until Stevie's next interview when she says something different, anyway :P Although, I have to say this article was kind of confusing - they made it seem like she met Joe before she met Lindsey. |

now this here: "Reminiscing about her past loves, she revealed she experienced "love at first sight twice." She confessed, "One person, you know. He's a famous rock star... it's not important to talk about him, but what is important is that I saw him from across a room and I fell in love with him that day." *singing* who r yoooooou? who is she talkin bout? don? joe? all of them? |

well how the hell did she feel when she got up close and got a good look at him? ionno bout our girl sometimes....... |
Who the heck is it that she met in her childhood or early teens that's a famous rock star?
There's no way she met Joe before Lindsey. Someone prove me wrong... |

I think the article just meant like 'the second person she is referring to', but it comes off as like the second as in chronologically, which obviously it isn't. |

Again with this "Former Fleetwood Mac singer".She did not quit.Yes we know Stevie has a different story every time she gets interviewed.Anyway I guess she wont make a good jurer .if she was called for jury duty.
|
Aw, it's so cute that they think she's "opening her secret journal for the first time!!!"
Honey, she's cracked those puppies open for at least half of her home interviews. Surprised she talked about "love at first sight" with Lindsey--I've only heard her say that about meeting Joe. Lindsey mentioned on one of the VH1 specials that there was immediate attraction, but I don't know that she ever has. |

It's funny she was mentioning Joe Walsh left and right a couple of years ago, and now it's "not important to talk about him." I guess her new "peace" with Lindsey is giving her enough publicity for now.
|
I wonder what she means that Oprah was not easy to win over?
|
Oh jeez. Shipper relapse. Thank you for these little gems Stevie. :)

He must've really impressed her when he came over to work on SA. They've turned a corner and they're closer than they've been in 30 years. Wonder what that means, exactly. ;) |
About this Oprah interview, i haven't understood, if it already aired or not.
|
you know i would just love to see the entire interview instead of snippets here and there. i think they did that when fm was touring for unleashed. it was annoying!!
|
You know I ultimately feel sad for Stevie when it comes to hearing about her past relationships because clearly alot of them were probably meaningless flings which is probably what she wanted at the time but the way she always makes excuses for not commiting to a relationship because of her job has always annoyed me. She either has severe commitment issues or is terrified to get hurt so she avoids them all together. Just hearing her talk about Lindsey since well... forever there is no doubt that he was ALWAYS the main love of her life and SHE let him get away.

Ah, found the quote that I was thinking of: "When I first met him, he was going with somebody and so was I, but I fell totally in love with him. I was captivated. "
Edit: However, in the video, Stevie says she has had love at first sight twice and the interviewer asks if it's anyone we know, and she says, "One you know.." almost as if the other one is someone we don't know.. |

For her to think that she and Lindsey would have gotten married and stayed that way is ludicrous. Even if they made it famous as BN, I think fame and the world it opened up to them would have torn them apart. Money and the rock stars they meant. In the parallel marriage universe, I think they would have given into temptation and been torn asunder, just like they were in the real universe.
The best scenario I see for them is if she'd gotten off of Klonopin sooner, maybe we could have gotten another FM album and they would have come together romantically then. So, let's say his brother dies, she reaches out to him and he comes to the BTM shows in December 1990, if she hadn't been wacked out, maybe that would have been the ideal time for both a band and a personal reconciliation. Maybe they would have been mature enough then to have made it work. I think she thinks this too and it's one of the things she laments most about the lost K years. Michele |
