stevie jewelry???

Ok so it's time for me to go JEWELRY SHOPPING!

i've always loved stevie's jewelry, however i'm not putting ANYTHING on me without knowing what it means! with that being said, can you guys help me in the meanings of like the crescent, the triangle.........anything else. the crescent i know about religiously, but is that what she wears it for?

thanks so much! oh and if you know any good links to where i can buy and it's great quality.......ledda sista know please!

xoxo

camchristo 05-06-2011 04:23 PM

I'm not sure what the meaning is for the pieces like the crescent and the pyramid. I suppose they mean different things to different people. I wear them just because I like them. I would highly, highly recommend Kelly, owner of Camia's jewelry. Here's the link to her stuff:

I have the crescent pendant, the pyramid pendant and the bracelet cuffs (B572). They are all really great pieces but I do notice that the price on the bracelets has increased.

You can get a sterling silver moon for pretty cheap.

fumidesigns 05-06-2011 04:26 PM

^^^ where's the link luv?

SapphireSister 05-06-2011 04:26 PM

This is the best and where I got my silver moon and where I will get my gold pyramid:
www.camiasdesigns.com

Not the most affordable but by far the highest quality IMO.

Hahaha! Oops, sorry, Sapphire posted it below. Kelly is really great and super easy to work with. The silver pendants are really affordable but the bracelets and some of the other stuff... not so much. But it is really great quality and the best replicas that you'll find.

Agreed her stuff is wonderful. I've purchased a few things from her:thumbsup:

glamorousnymph 05-06-2011 05:12 PM

I've bought a ton from Kelly and she is great. The pyramid and moon are still among the most affordable pieces she offers and they wear really well. Highly recommend the pyramid/moon combo for under $100. They have gone up a little in price with the metals getting so expensive, but not too much. They look especially good in the summer.

priestofnothing 05-06-2011 05:25 PM

I got a crescent moon from Kelly, it's fantastic. I had a pyramid made for my Mother at a local jeweler back in the mid 90's. She wore it everyday until the day she died. Now I wear it.

Here is a discussion about Stevie's famous "3" necklace too. I haven't seen it on her since the 80's though.

Perhaps I'll hold out on buying the gold pyramid in hopes of Stevie giving hers to me.

TinyDancer 05-06-2011 05:57 PM

I have been obsessed with the Gem Cuff Combo for a while now. It's expensive, but I am sure I could rationalize legitimate reasons why I need it:laugh:

So do you just send her your wrist measurement and she customizes it to your size?

Seriously. There are some silk robe/cardigan type things she wore around the Bella Donna Era that I would do very bad things to get.

Yes, just send her your wrist size. If you're not sure, she'll help you. Pick the stones you want and she'll make it. I have the Tiger's Eye in mine. They're really great.

GODDESS6 05-06-2011 06:46 PM

kelly makes the best stevie jewelry!!!~ hands down!!!~

DeeGeMe 05-06-2011 10:05 PM

Kelly is super! High-quality, great to work with--could not recommend more highly!
And I still want one of those cuff bracelets!!!!

And as for meaning--the crescent moon symbol has been used to symbolize many things over the course of history. I say it has whatever meaning the wearer wishes it to symbolize. I just like celestial things so...that's my story. LOL.

thanks for this link!

I happened upon this while browsing and I wanted to say a hearty and warm thanks to all of you for your kudos! :)

As a quick side, the price of sterling silver has gone up so I've had to increase my costs a bit, however, I didn't sacrifice quality. I know the cuffs and what not appear to be high but it's all a labor of love. If I can answer any questions, I'm happy to do so!

michelle2677 06-01-2011 09:18 PM

i completely agree that camias designs is the best place to get the crescent moon necklace. i don't have the pyramid but i got my first moon about 5 years ago. i ended up leaving it in an hotel room in august last year and i cried. no, really. anyway, my one my best friends got me another one for christmas and i feel complete again. it's my most simple piece of jewelry but the one i get the most compliments on. you won't be disappointed

Henri David was the designer who made 'Wild Heart' jewelery (rings, pendants, bracelets, etc.) for Stevie:

http://www.phillymag.com/articles/my...y_henri_david/

Some of the rings he made used to be sold at 'Silver Spring Emporium' (Stevie's mother's shop in Arizona).

I'm wearing mine right now. :)

GarboSpeaks! 06-02-2011 11:26 AM

Regarding the meaning behind the jewelry. I agree w/ the first mention that the pyramid and moon mean diff things to diff people. For Stevie, I think at the time she began wearing them, it was the 70's and tarot/metaphysical/astrology were very popular. I think that Stevie maybe got the idea for the moon and pyramid, related to those above aspects somehow. Maybe her moon was in some house, and she thought that was cool. lol. The moon in all it's stages is very powerful. Same goes w/ the pyramid. Its a popular image of high power. But maybe just search the terms crescent moon and pyramid, and see if any of the reasons are important to you.
Then, don't forget your necklace w/ a teddy bear on it. The teddy bear was a hugely popular statement between fellow rock stars (like a secret handshake) that......oh nevermind, it's a secret.

I have a necklace similar to the second to last one! It's a locket. My chain isn't as long, either. I guess it came in different lengths? Too bad, I like the longer one better.

Yeah, my bestfriend found one shopping at Brandy & Melville that's even better than those and I practically made her buy it. I'll snatch it when I can!

This peaked an interest... Does anyone have any insight into the teddy bear symbolism? I love the pic of Stevie with her hair very curly (I beleive a Sam Emerson shoot).

About the teddy bear, I wondered that too.
I love that shoot too but I don't know who took it, I only know it's a 1977 shoot.

I've never heard of it. But I'm guessing it went something like this;
Drug dealers used to smuggle cocaine and other substances inside teddy bears. Therefore it probably meant that you did coke. Or you had
'connections'.

Just a guess. I could be wrong.

I get what you mean...so, I would not wear and upside down crucifix or a swastika...or a bloody face....

but,

I think anyone can look at an elegant piece of jewelry and speculate that you must be well off or a total dollar store hussy or a proven member of the 9th order of the 2 blackbird division of the Illuminati or whatever...

I wear what I know is something that will reflect on the best part of me...so, that's what I think jewelery and stuff like that is about...I lived in LA in the 90s so guys wore a lot of necklaces with some jewel or symbol on the outside of a tshirt and vest/blazer thing.

For example I had this cool thing that was on one of those dark rope like necklace and it was just a tangled shape with a red sparkly thing in it...I was at a rock and roll bar...the Rainbow (best place to be in the 80s 90s hairbands end of Rock royalty era) and one of Rick James' people just looked at me and pointed to the cool necklace sparkly thing and just said, "You are into Kink." I just looked at him without a word until he just walked away.

wasn't his boss busted for putting hidden cameras into the toilets of his female guests?

So, if it reflects something that you are so taken with....

people will love it too.....

Jim
