Hello everyone my name is Maria and I'm a new member here...so excited:blob1:! I'm 17 and just discovered Fleetwood Mac on their white album about a month ago. I am totally obsessed with them and my parents think there is something wrong with me because they are all I listen to. I just can connect extremely deeply to their lyrics. I am now working my way through the Tusk album and it's really hard for me to believe that it was a let down after the admittedly more well known Rumours. Anyways incase your wondering why I posted this in the Stevie Nicks forum I am getting my hair cut tomorrow and I have extremely thick hair and I was wondering when Stevie had her perm in the late 70s early 80s just how she did it. I was wondering if anyone had any close up pictures of her with her hair cut. Thanks! Looking forward to becoming a ledgie.

Cant help ya with your perm but just wanted to Welcome you and also say, (as a 19 year old fanatic that started this all at 12), You are very much not alone in teen Mac fandom, as you will find here (or probably have).

Hi welcome!!! I am glad that you discovered some great music:) Stevie has mentioned that she had perms in the 70's & 80's.

Hmmm. Lindsey has a poodle that looks just like that.

You should get Stevie's Crystal Visions DVD. She mentions her hair in that one. She says that later on (not in the seventies or eighties era that you mentioned) her hair was very damaged, so they couldn't put any heat on it. So, they'd spend hours braiding it up to get that waved look she had in the Whole Lotta Trouble video.

Welcome! I too am a Stevie addict and was your age when Fleetwood Mac's white album came out. I imediately was hooked on Rhiannon. Back in the day fans of FM, especially us girls, would dress like Stevieand wanted to be Stevie Nicks, meantime most guys wanted to date her. Soooo...nope...you are not alone! Back in the day too if you didn't like FM you weren't cool!

You absolutely have to listen to Buckingham Nicks. It is a masterpiece. Just go on utube, everything you need is either here or there. You can just make this website your safe haven. But, I must warn you, Stevie has a way of becoming an obsession, so buckle up and enjoy the ride. She is a true artist in every way. I have been in love with her since the late 1980's. Once you fall for her you will quickly fall for Lindsey as well. After that the rest of Fleetwood Mac will follow suit. Christine McVie, yes you will love her too. John and Mick add the perfect rhythm to our joint musical obsession.

Thanks mylittledemon looking forward to becoming educated!! I want to know as much as I can about these people! And Morgana how lucky to be around when the original LPs came out...I would trade you anything! I too am a huge fan of Rhiannon but I have to say that I prefer the live version from the 70s to the studio version. She is phenomenal. I do wonder though how she didn't hurt her voice when she sang like that :shrug:

Unfortunately she id hurt her voice. She poured so much emotion into Rhiannon that she began to experience problems with her voice. Her late best friend Robin was her voice coach and taught her how to sing with out shredding her voice. Have you seen the earlier you tube videos for Rhiannon back in 1976? Thats where you can see first hand why she got voice problems. Coke also ruined her voice. But.....this cd is by far shows how Stevie came back with her voice...and 62...going to be 63 in a few weeks. Rock on and enjoy! :)

Miller- I have not heard her new CD yet but I did buy the deluxe version on itunes...I'm just waiting until I can sit down and give it a good listen...what are your thoughts? Morgana- oh that stinks that she had to hurt her voice through abuse and coke. I'm so happy she is clean now and I absolutely cannot wait to give her new album a listen...so excited!! I feel funny to say that because I am a newbie too. Still haven't heard Buckingham Nicks stuff but about to give it a listen now! I've been around here for almost a month and I can already tell ya I'm going to be here for a very long time!

I'm 19 and I've adored Stevie since I was a kid.

I'm glad people my age can squash the rumor that we all we listen to is what ever get's played on the radio (though I do listen to some of it).

May I suggest an early 80's inspired hairdo instead of the Tusk 70's perm? Less poodle-like:
