Singles and Movie?
Does anyone have any idea as to which singles will be released from this album? I mean officially, we only have Secret Love.
And, I threw in the topic of the movie just cuz ;) |
Yeah - I'm trying to find out about the movie too. What's the scoop? Anyone?
|
Weapons of mass entertainment said it would be ready in June
|
The album cover wrapper has a sticker which says "Featuring Secret Love & Cheaper Than Free" That's a pretty good indication of what the next single will be. :distress:

It just means that both of them were released before the album. And I've seen lots of songs do that with songs that weren't singles. I never understood it. |
I was telling my roommate that I could totally see New Orleans being played in a Chamber of Commerce visit New Orleans commercial!
|
I have a strong feeling that the title track will be the next single. It would require no radio edit.
If it's not IYD, then it needs to be another track that differs from Secret Love, in that, it should not be another ballad. |

I just can't see there being only two singles off the album. Trouble in Shangri-La got "Every Day", "Planets of the Universe" and "Sorcerer". I imagine there will at least be a 3rd single, so IF "Cheaper Than Free" is single #2, "In Your Dreams" is likely single #3 (that's my guess). |

Country still relies on video too - they could do a nice one with this. |
I think I may cry if In Your Dreams is a single... :p
I can really see For What It's Worth Wide Sargasso Sea (remixed for radio) Annabell Lee (remixed for radio) Ghosts are gone |

CTF is the worst song on the album and I know that diehard fans don't gravitate to the same pop confections that mass audiences love, but I don't even think CTF is commercially attractive. Maybe Hannah Montana and one of the Jonas Bros. could make it a hit, but other than that . . . Oh, ugh. Just the fact that Dave has it on his album too would be reason enough for me not to make it a single. The execs are stupid. Michele |

Also Nicks herself loves the song and thinks its one of the best things on the album. |

In Your Dreams is just so upbeat and chugging. I can totally hear it on the radio. Yeah, it's not the best song on the album... but it's the best song for radio. |

The next single should be In Your Dreams. It is the one song from this album I can see getting airplay in all different types of formats. Stevie sounds great on the song and it shows she has lots of energy.
However, In Your Dreams is not my favorite song from the album. I think it sounds like a hit though. |
If there was a God, "Moonlight" would be a #1 hit. :)

The stickers mean nothing. On both Under the Skin and Gift of Screws, the sticker listed songs that never were singles: Down on Rodeo, Love Runs Deeper, The Right Place to Fade.

I think For What It's Worth and In Your Dreams are her best shots at singles. They're both insanely catchy, melody wise, and In Your Dreams is very driven.
|
Now how does this work- if we all got together and sent a bunch of requests for In Your Dreams to a bunch of country stations, after the album is released, even if this isn't selected as a single, might they play it?
|
I wouldn't be suprised if Moonlight was a single. It might explain the title change. "Lady from the Mountain," to a casual listener might sound kind of lame. A song with "vampire" in the title may entice people into giving it more of a chance. I wish the fans could vote. Mine would be Moonlight, hands down.
|
I actually much prefer the title Lady From The Mountain. It definitely still fits with the song and is both more and less ambiguous than Moonlight (which seems to me just to be a derivative of Twilight and New Moon) all at the same time.. it catches my ear more, personally.

Am I the only one that can hear Italian Summer being a single, this summer?
