"In Your Dreams" info spoiler...

Okay well I'm assuming anyone who wants to hear the album by now has done so, therefore, here are some other details of possible interest:

Album credited as being produced by Dave Stewart & Glen Ballard except:
For What It's Worth: Mike Campbell; Dave & Glen
Cheaper Than Free: Dave & Mike Bradford

Album mixed by Chris Lord-Alge

The songwriting credits are as follows:

Secret Love (Stevie)
For What It's Worth (Words: Stevie; Music: Mike Campbell)
In Your Dreams (Words: Stevie; Music: Dave Stewart)
Wide Sargasso Sea (Words: Stevie; Music: Dave Stewart)
New Orleans (Words: Stevie; Music: Neale Heywood)
Moonlight (Stevie)
Annabel Lee (Music: Stevie; Words adapted from the Edgar Allan Poe poem "Annabel Lee"; Interlude Waddy Wachtel)
Soldier's Angel (Stevie)
Everybody Loves You (Words: Stevie & Dave; Music: Dave)
Ghosts Are Gone (Words: Stevie; Music: Dave Stewart)
You May Be The One (Words: Stevie; Music: Dave Stewart)
Italian Summer (Words: Stevie; Music: Dave Stewart)
Cheaper Than Free (Words: Stevie; Music: Dave Stewart)

Mick is credited as one of four drummers, but songs are not specified.
Dave is credited as the creative director and one of the photographers.
Lindsey and Steve Real (vocal coach) both score thank you's.

Album is dedicated to Sara ("my sweet girl, not a day goes by that I don't think about you... S.N.)

There are eight shots of Stevie on her own in the booklet, including the front cover, with four of them in the centre pages, plus two with the girls. There are also six small "action" shots of Stevie in the bottom right-hand corner of successive pages that are in motion when flicked through. There is a great photo of Stevie with Dave on the back cover. Stevie is featured on the actual disc holding the owl from the sizzle reel. Stevie looks great in most of the shots, but there are a couple of dodgy ones that I would have omitted. There are no photos of the studio or recording process which surprised me. I thought at least the "lucky" pic of Stevie and Dave placed on the console throughout the making of the album would have been included.

That's all I can think of for now...

Sweet and sad. I hope Stevie's made some peace with her actions, even as she's clearly very aware of the consequences.

Thanks for the info--dying to see the pics. Soon enough...

Yeah, thats what I was thinking as well :distress:

I'm a little surprised by the credit for "Italian Summer"....I had the impression that that was a Stevie-only song from her previous comments about when she wrote it. Not that it matters, clearly Nicks/Stewarts is a songwriting duo to be reckoned with.

Phil 04-27-2011 11:50 PM

I'm not sure which Sara the dedication is in respect of, but there is a small photo of a blonde, pale woman?
I just took a couple of crappy shots with my mobile, but I can't seem to upload them - if anyone can help me with this, I'll post them.

Phil 04-27-2011 11:59 PM

Yes I was surprised that "Italian Summer" was a co-composition, but I was more shocked that Stevie wrote the lyrics to "Cheaper Than Free" on her own as I thought she had done this in conjunction with Dave.
I was pleased that Edgar Allan Poe was given his due, but I don't know how she couldn't have credited him!

You'd need to first upload them to a hosting site like photobucket:)

Phil 04-28-2011 12:15 AM

Well I have the shots on my computer and was able to select them as jpeg files and then upload them here, but they didn't appear in my post so I don't really know what else to do. Sorry for my ignorance.

Two other things:
1) The exact running time of the cd is 64:45 so with the inclusion of the bonus track "My Heart", it should be pretty close to 70 minutes.
2) There is also a photo of Stevie with the white horse on the inlay for the cd.

Phil 04-28-2011 12:17 AM

Oh and I think FM77 must have been telling the truth because of that line in "You May Be The One" where she sings "I used to think you were an angel". FM77 was adamant about that fact and it has rung true.

Hmm, I have to say, I'd be a little surprised if it was. I wouldn't put it past Stevie to have a favorite aborted baby , but it would be pretty ****ty to only give a shout out to one. Seriously voting either the dog or Fleetwood.

Ha--fair enough. I think it's possible that one baby would be more significant than another, though, depending on the father, the time in her life, and how far along the pregnancy went. If Don Henley was right about the song and Stevie had assigned a name to the fetus, that termination might have been far more significant to her than, say, a mistake baby with a one-night stand that she terminated immediately. Nor would it shock me if she's sort of blended all four in her head into one daughter.

I think if she thought of Sara Fleetwood every day, she could probably pick up the phone, no? Totally forgot she ahd a dog named Sara, though--that seems like something Stevie actually would do:laugh:

I could definitely see this being the case.

I'm actually pretty solidly team "It's the dog." That Sara passed away not too long ago, as well. Like, what, three years ago?

Artemis 04-28-2011 01:02 AM

I'm really pleased that my guess that most of the words would be written by Stevie and the music by Dave was right! They're a fantastic musical partnership, but, it makes me really happy to know that Stevie wrote the lionshare of the lyrics; because the lyrics on this album kick ass. She's firmly kept her songwriting crown with this album

It could be this little girl named Sara that was a fan that Stevie let backstage each time Stevie came to her town on tour. I believe the little girl died fairly recently as well.

Probably a stupid question, but are the lyrics in the booklet?

Jamie

Phil 04-28-2011 08:22 AM

Jamie, I think you're correct regarding Sara - the photograph included directly underneath the dedication is of a young, pale girl with blonde hair. I didn't recognise her as anyone from Stevie's camp so I guess this must be the person you've mentioned.
Yes the lyrics are included and interspersed with the photos I mentioned earlier in this thread. I think you'll be very happy with the whole package, not to mention how superb the album sounds on a proper home stereo - you're bound to be knocked out!

As long as there are fewer dedications than in TOSOTM booklet. I'm still sore that I'm the only person that album was not dedicated to.:)

Thanks.

Yeah, someone on this site was saying that the CD will have better sound quality than the internet stream, so that's something to look forward to.

Phil 04-28-2011 09:06 AM

Well seriously Jake, I was surprised at how minimal and understated the liner notes are - there are few people thanked and only the one dedication (to Sara). It's almost as if Stevie has taken stock and decided to downplay the whole superstar/melodrama act.

Stevie's~Prince 04-28-2011 09:13 AM

Well I'm an Aussie still hanging out lol.. I ordered the deluxe though so I'm thinking they'll come later if yours was the standard edition

Any chance of an upload anywhere?

djdanii 04-28-2011 09:18 AM

I'm in the US and I'll probably get the CD on Sunday. The record store by my house actually kinda "cheats" and puts out new releases on the Sunday before the official release. Then my pre-ordered copy I will give to my Mother for Mother's Day as I did with Trouble In Shangri La and Crystal Visions. Thanks to her I'm a Stevie fan as I grew up with Stevie. Though when I was younger I never put 2 and 2 together that Stevie was also in Fleetwood Mac, as I wondered how come both women sounds so alike. hehe

Phil 04-28-2011 09:26 AM

Well I have no objection to uploading the audio, but I'm not sure that it would be appropriate to do so given that this is a commercial release. What's the protocol here?

Pretty sure that if it's commercially available, sharing an upload is a huge no no.

Stevie's~Prince 04-28-2011 10:29 AM

Perhaps not through the ledge? I'm sure I/we can hold out if it'll cause drama

It's just the need to play it in the car/on a good stereo

SapphireSister 04-28-2011 11:27 AM

I must admit one reason I do not think this will ever be my favorite Stevie album is the simple fact that only 4 of the songs are truly hers. I'm thrilled that she is able to co-write great songs with Dave but I still distinguish songs by whether or not Stevie wrote the lyrics and music. I'm not saying I like those songs less but the ones only she wrote will always be a little more special to me.

sorcerer999 04-28-2011 01:21 PM

Phil, I have a question. Did your CD have a sticker outside the shrinkwrap that announced what the singles were going to be?

Like when TISL came out, there was a little brown sticker on it that said, "Featuring Every Day, Planets Of The Universe, Sorcerer".

I was wondering if the new CD had one of those stickers. It would be nice to know what/if Warners is planning for future single releases.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WildHearted 04-28-2011 02:57 PM

Out of all those fabulous songs, why on EARTH Secret Love and Cheaper Than Free are the only singles, I have no idea... that makes absolutely no sense.

[QUOTE=louielouie2000;973193]Looks like Secret Love & Cheaper Than Free :distress:

Well, I ripped the plastic cover instantly and later I also wanted to look at the sticker, So I unfolded it and it says SL & CtF indeed.

TheWILDheart 04-28-2011 03:02 PM

"In Your Dreams" should be single #2

Phil 04-28-2011 05:00 PM

Yep, my sticker also stated "Secret Love" and "Cheaper Than Free" as the singles.

tabruns 04-28-2011 05:06 PM

Has it occurred to you people that it might list "Secret Love" and "Cheaper Than Free" because the first one is the current single and the second one recently had a video released of it? Those have been the most visible songs so far so they're what are listed on the cd sticker in the hopes that people might recognize the title.

I doubt that this means that there will be no further single releases. Stickers on albums change as further songs are released. WB is probably gauging radio reaction. I don't think it's anything to get all upset over unless a rep from WB says that "yes indeed just those two songs are the singles".

WildHearted 04-28-2011 05:50 PM

I can't wait to get my hands on the Liner notes.

For some reason I was expecting LB to be credited on Soldier's Angel, but then I thought about it... and I don't really know why I thought he would have been haha.

Yes exactly. The sticker in no way is implying that CTF is the next single.

Now, if it had said "Featuring the singles SL and CTF", then that would indicate that it would be the next single, but it does not say that.

When "Rock A Little" came out, "Sister Honey" was listed on the sticker and it never became a single. Same with TISL when "I Miss You" was on the sticker. Of course CTF does have a video already.

I'm thinking the video was released as cross-promotion for Dave's album. His is released on June 28th, and honestly, his best means of promotion at this point is Stevie herself.
