"Moonlight" SPOILER Question
Lady From the Mountain/Moonlight
I just really wish she would have tacked on the last verse....it would have totally fit in with the song.... So.........go with her You know that you want her I think you could use a dreamer Somewhere on your side Any maybe....if that woman could make you crazy Did she call out....did she say "Please save me!" |
I definitely agree... those were my fav lines in the demo :). But the finished product is very good still. Probably my fav on the album, even.
|
I listened for that myself but you know, this is how I feel about Annabel Lee, this new song is so amazing and there are still reasons to listen to the demo. So this way you don't replace that little demo that you love so much, you just have two wonderful songs that are great in their own ways.
|
Maybe there will be an extended mix ala POTU with the extra lyrics.

This is sooo cool to see that this song really is LFTM. It's currently playing now, and I love how when the chorus kicked in the first time, I was like, "OMG, I KNOW THIS PART FROM THE REEL!!" This is just too amazing!

I wonder if every woman identifies with Moonlight. It reminds me of my sisters.

I used to listen to Lady From the Mountain so much, maybe it's making it hard for me, idk. I love Moonlight, but am having trouble hearing it as one flowing song. I love the verses, and I love the chorus, but it keeps feeling like two different songs spliced together. It makes me wish we had LFTM *AND* Moonlight, if that makes sense? I do totally love it, and I'm replaying it over a few times in a row right now so I'll get used to it as a whole.
Anyone else feeling this? As if the chorus should be from another (yet equally as awesome) song? It's like there are two amazing songs pushed into one, yet we'd be twice blessed if they were indeed 2 separate songs? It's probably just me, and as i listen to it more and more it will probably be something I come to love, that chorus kicking in as it does. |

Also - and I think this is a good point - in a way, having the album trailer and listening to those tiny clips of the songs relentlessly since March almost hinders listening to the full songs now. Not in a terribly bad way, but for me, it's hard to really let the full songs have a flow when you're listening to all the glorious new bits and then - boom - there's that part that I memorized so long ago. It's not a bad thing. Just an odd thing to get used to! |

There's the "Some call her 'strange'" that comes at the very beginning of the song, and that "strange" theme plays throughout it until almost the very end. As well as the imagery of the candle burning in the middle, and having the two of them meeting in the middle. So for me, as a Lady From The Mountain novice, I really didn't think of it as a combination of two songs at all. |

Moonlight would OWN this song |

I guess it shows what a creature of habit I can be. 'But still, the song is one of my favorites on IYD, for sure, and I can't wait to crank it up in the car when I get the cd next week.
It's like when RAL came out, I was bummed that the very first song on the album was not RAL, and that there was no duet with Tom Petty, lol. BD and WH seemed to set the stage and create "tradition" in her solo works. I obviously had to get over that fast! ;p And yes, the lyrics blend beautifully to make it a solid song. just such a strange shift when the chorus hits. " it's so strange!!"yet alluring! |

Strange, she knew too much to walk away. Strange, she wouldn't do it anyway. That's in my head. Yes, you're right alluring and eerie. Michele |

I don't know if Stevie has read the books, rather than just seen the movies, but there is a point in the novel where Bella tells Edward that she knows a relationship has to be equal, that Edward can't keep saving her all of the time. She says she has to save him too. He responds, "You have saved me." Furthermore, both of them admitted that during their separation they veered close to insanity. The omitted lyrics would work nicely on their own or within the Twilight scenario and they could even be switched around so that the man is the one saying, "Please save me." And maybe if that woman could make you crazy, would you call out? Would you say 'please save me.' |
