It looks that way to me.

Jondalar 04-22-2011 05:44 PM

This is the single people say is most marketable.

silvasprings 04-22-2011 05:45 PM

Can't wait to hear it

WildHearted 04-22-2011 05:51 PM

This is the song I think I've actually been most anticipating... I generally love Stevie's title tracks.

daniellaaarisen 04-22-2011 06:12 PM

Yay!! So exciting to get new Stevie music... this doesn't even feel real yet.

Artemis 04-22-2011 06:21 PM

For a wild second there, I thought the song could be downloaded now.

Pretty exciting that this is going to be the next single, or maybe they'll focus on this one as the "lead" single, counting Secret Love as a promo single or something. Since apparently, this is the song that best recalls her 70s work. Super excited for it anyway.

This song has been mentioned as a favorite by many people, unlike Secret Love. I do really like Secret Love though.

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but each of the album's tracks are listed individually like that. And each listing has April 29th as the release date -- but if you look off to the right, it says that it will be available on May 3rd.

"For What It's Worth": http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004X0Y5LS

"Wide Sargasso Sea": http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004X0Y5RM

"New Orleans": http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004X0Y5SG

Etc.

I hope this is an official new single, and not a money grab by WB for us to buy the mp3 just 5 days before we get the whole CD (which is brilliant marketing too;)). In any case this is awesome! I was getting worried WB was getting complacent & feared they would not release a new single in a timely matter. I hope it's a killer track! Stevie needs something more exciting to sing on her TV circuit appearances in May. While I think Secret Love is a great little song, I don't think it's a strong enough single, especially if done "live" on TV appearances - to attract new listeners excitement & attention.

EDIT: Nevermind:(

Arrgh. What a letdown. I'm all downloading my latest mp3 app for my droid so I can get it..

Someone should maybe delete this thread.

Kind of confusing.

DefDumbandBlond 04-22-2011 09:09 PM

Yeah I don't know why Amazon also have separate pages for each individual song for mp3 downloads. It's easier just to go to the one page with the full album on it.

I went ahead and updated the thread title so hopefully there's less confusion :)

At least we know all the song lengths now. And I got to say I'm shocked at how long most of the songs are. There were none over 5 minutes on TISL. There are 6 on IYD and Ghosts are Gone is 6:06, which I belive is her longest solo song next to Wild Heart. The only 2 really short songs are the 2 we've alreaady heard, the rest are epic (at least in length)

Like someone on here already posted either her epic length songs are incredible (Tusk) or epic fails..I'm praying they are the former.

Yeah, I worry about that a bit. Stevie has a tendency to ramble into oblivion if not properly reigned in. Wild Heart rambling = bad. Tusk rambling = transcendence :D.

Hawkeye 04-23-2011 12:05 AM

Well I definitly disagree on the Wild Heart thing. It was #2 on my favorite Stevie song list.

In fact I think most all Stevie songs at 5+ are higher on my all time favorite lists then those under 5, so I think the song lengths are promising.

Wild Heart rambling = hallucinogenic

Or self indulgent :). But alas, I don't want to start the great Wild Heart battle again. People get so very offended .

Fiver 04-23-2011 12:32 AM

It's no sacred cow to me, but I do enjoy it. But I can definitely see what you mean.

I kinda appreciate just how much all of Stevie's albums really reflect who she was when she made them though.

Absolutely! That's why I'm glad we have all the Stevie albums we do have, even if I may not like them all. And also why I'm sooo psyched about In Your Dreams. I'm so very curious to see where Stevie's at personally in her music.

I've been gone for a few days and just saw the postings to this thread. I went back and looked. It states Original Release Date: April 29, 2011. To the right is states the ALBUM will be available May 3rd. It will be interesting to see if the individual tracks are avialable this Friday. It so, I plan on downloading the title track for 99 cents on Friday and purchasing the entire CD locally the following Tuesday.

Sorry guys, I don't get how you know for sure the tracks aren't going to be released individually on Friday based on what the Amazon page indicates. Does Amazon regulary post that tracks will be released the week before an album is available, and then don't release the seperate tracks before the album release? I really don't know, but apparantly some people do.

Hi Bandon... I wish I could cite a good example for you, but unfortunately I can't. However, there have definitely been times when I've noticed Amazon has different info for the "original release date" than the actual release date, when a title is still in the "pre-order" stage. I have no idea why that happens.

Macfanforever 04-24-2011 10:25 PM

They can keep them.I want to get a hardcopy.Incase I will accidently delete the files or the computer gets sick.

Johnny, thanks for explaining that you have seen something similiar before. It makes sense to me. :)
