In Your Dreams now available for pre-order on iTunes

This was mentioned in the other thread, but it might get lost, so I wanted everyone to know that "In Your Dreams" is now available for pre-order on iTunes, and there are two versions.

The deluxe version includes the Secret Love video as well as the video for Cheaper than Free.

APerfectLie 04-12-2011 12:02 AM

I can't believe My Heart isn't on the Deluxe version!

Well that seals the deal for me, I'll be ordering the deluxe CD from Warner.

Ditto. I'm not happy about this. :(

markolas 04-12-2011 10:28 AM

Why would you want to pre-order from iTunes? Isn't it an instant download anyway?

Unlike Stevie's case, with certain artists, they have songs on the pre-order only. So, if you pre-order the album, then you get the songs that are not on the deluxe/standard version.

Fan gouging has begun.

I canceled my original January pre-order from WB to order the Fan Edition.
But then that does not include the Secret Love video iTunes is including in the pre-order.

There is no word about the documentary DVD (better have a blu-ray edition) and if music videos will be contained in that as well.

Ugh.

Dodfather 04-12-2011 10:38 AM

No word if there is to be a pghsical deluxe edition anywhere other than the US? I'd like to be able to get the videos. I've preordered from amazon.com for the May 3rd release but no deluxe version on there....

Yah, there is still that mysterious, second listing on Amazon.com, with a higher priced version of IYD, but no details.

In all honesty, I would not prefer to dowloaded a Stevie album over buying an actual CD copy. Much of my music is from iTunes, but some things I am compelled to buy on disc.

That said, I think 24.99 plus shipping for the deluxe version is a bit excessive on the part of Warner Brothers. For 24.99 I'd like a little more than one extra track and a poster of the album cover.

skuncles 04-12-2011 11:12 AM

Welcome to the modern age of album sales. They need to use every trick in the book to move albums. So that does mean multiple versions to get the complete version. Many artist have store exclusives meaning depending on which store you get it at will determine which tracks you get. Right now the bonus on the warners version My Heart the bonus on the iTunes version is the video for Secret Love. The Cheaper Than Free is a giveaway right now so that's hardly a bonus. Who knows there may be more to come.

Jondalar 04-12-2011 11:25 AM

Well, won't another version being coming out, complete with the movie too? Maybe two CDs.

AnthonyMI 04-12-2011 11:26 AM

Just wait till the Starbucks special exclusive limited edition! It will have demo tracks, bonus tracks, and a whole second CD with striped down acoustic versions of the songs on CD 1.

:P

I am also hoping Starbucks has a single of the week of My HEart.

There's never been any indication that the movie would be released as a DVD at all with the CD.

As I was tossing and turning last night, I was thinking that Dave & Stevie might market the film to VH1 or MTV. Or even LOGO -

I don't know that it would do well with a theatrical release, but TV might be the perfect venue to gain some exposure and sales right before or after the album release.

belladonnadream 04-12-2011 12:10 PM

I've preordered both from Warner..the regular a month ago, now this, ugh..k, so they sold 2 copies to me...I'm not going for the itunes one....Better get a promo code for all this..

If is ends up on LOGO I will boycott. Stevie is not a gay icon. Cher and Lady Gaga are. Not Stevie Nicks.

Everything on LOGO doesn't have to be about gay icons. Their NewNowNext feature is very good when it comes to promoting music in general. I've discovered many artists by watching PopLab and NewNowNext, so I was thinking more in the vein of promoting the MUSIC rather than the SEXUALITY of the fans.

I think she is. Maybe not to the same extent as the folks you mentioned, but she is.

All the gays I know love her. And come on - only gay clubs played those Planets of the Universe dance mixes.

Seriously..."Night Of A Thousand Stevies" has been going on for how long now?

Not a gay icon, indeed!

Thank god somebody said this before me...

Also, to those bummed out about "My Heart", I believe it's a UK bonus track?
That gives you all something to be excited about for the June release of the UK version once the album is out in the states :D

Was it easy to cancel the original, how did you do it? Thanks

I'm soo confused about the Secret Love video. Why hasn't it been released yet? Now, we know its really out there and still can't see it. The song Secret Love needs a jolt. I don't understand unless releasing Secret Love release was just a tease of some sort. With a new single dropping right around the album's release.

Amen, Stevie is a HUGE gay icon, we pretty much support her these days. I know were not her entire fan base, but I would tend to think we have a pretty large majority :)

LOL....I think you said it best....Every Stevie themed club party I've ever been to has been at a gay club.

I think Stevie's music calls out to people in pain or people who want to escape and I think she loves that.

It's seeming more and more that Secret Love was released early as the promotional song to get the ball rolling and word out that Stevie has a new record on the near horizon. AND for Stevie to have something new to sing and promote from IYD during the H & S tour. I wouldn't be surprised to see a new promotional song released the week before or right after May 3rd:shrug: I see the CTF video as another promotional teaser, sorta the B-side to Secret Love ;) But not the main course.

I think Cheaper than Free is better than Secret Love because it captures the heartstrings and that is what she is going to have to do to get people to buy.

It's hard to buy Secret Love as the real lead single of this album when none of those involved has mentioned it as one of their favorites. For What's it Worth, In Your Dreams and Italian Summer seem to be the real contendors.
