North of Cincinnati, Fairfield

ryguy2010 04-11-2011 11:22 PM

Holy crapola am in West Chester. We are practically neighbors!

fringed n fab 04-11-2011 11:29 PM

<<< Knows Fairfield and West Chester rather well. I used to live in Liberty Twp (Lakota area) right before moving to Florida. I was tired of Ohio and wanted a change but I did like living in Liberty Twp for the year I was there.

ryguy2010 04-11-2011 11:34 PM

Def a good area and a good school district (Lakota) albeit Ohio as a whole is pretty lame. Good for you to escape it :)

I felt like I had to at the time. The world's too big to stay in one place your whole life. I can always move back again if I choose.

Josh2003 04-11-2011 11:48 PM

Ha...and I was just in Cincinnati Friday night...lots of Ohioans here!

fringed n fab 04-12-2011 12:03 AM

Living halfway between Cincy and Dayton did have it's cool benefits being in between the two cities. Choices of clubs either direction and things to do. Although I always went up to Dayton as far as going out. I've yet to find anything I like as far as being like 1470 was. The original club.

ryguy2010 04-12-2011 12:05 AM

Would love to but not tonight. Have school bright and early in morning. Rain check
?

ryguy2010 04-12-2011 12:08 AM

What is 1470? l suppose l don't get to Dayton as often as I should. Pretty much stay local out venture off to downtown Cincinnati

DarkUponLight 04-12-2011 12:17 AM

its Club Masque now. Clubmasque.com

ryguy2010 04-12-2011 12:44 AM

Oh the infamous Masque. I have had a couple very fun and very spotty nights there. Was there for St. Patty's back in 2007 when I still was somewhat of a looker. However the fool that I was back then got me taken advantage of in all the right ways

fringed n fab 04-12-2011 01:53 AM

In keeping on topic, Stevie is awesome and I was referring to the original 1470 West club that was in Kettering for almost 30 years before they had to move when the Hills and Dales shopping center they were in was being torn down and they opened the new club in downtown Dayton which to many, was never quite the same as the original club. Masque is what occupies the space now where 1470 moved then closed a few years ago. I never cared to go to Masque but heard it was "ok" but catered to the teeny bopper crowd.

ryguy2010 04-12-2011 02:08 AM

Well Masque is definitely more of a younger crowd. For me it wasn't the classiest of joints but I guess it serves its purpose. I never really go to Dayton much though as I said. Did your career take you to Fla or did you move on a whim? How is the economy? Did you like the CTF video ;)

Both. Though the decision to move South was a 4 year plan. The economy is give or take really depending on what fields you're in no matter what state you reside. Things have been bad all over so that didn't affect my move. When the time came it was gonna be now or never really so I did it, along with a few of my family that moved down also. I don't think I'll want to live here years and years, as nice as it is... but I didn't want to wait until I was old and retired and 70 on a beach either. I wanted to live the Florida life in my 30's while I was still good and able. You never know what life will bring so do something you love now, you might not even be here at 70. So you find ways to make that possible.

Columbus, Ohio here. Ohio loves Stevie and Fleetwood Mac.

Oh yeah... the OLD 1470. That place was awesome. Celebrity kinda took over as the biggest gay nightclub when the old 1470 moved to downtown. But, now that Celebrity is gone, Masque is the biggest hot spot. And they absolutely cater to teeny boppers, but my bf is 21, so he loves it there, although it does grate on my nerves from time to time when it's overcrowded, for the most part I can tolerate it. I mainly go there to dance & there's not really any other clubs with a whole second level just for dancing. My bf is into all the smoke machines & glitter that shoots out of those pipes on the ceiling. Rumor has it that Ke$ha wrote "Take it off" about Club Masque, the part about "glitter on the floor" is definitely true. But who knows for sure... probably just a rumor.

Oh God, I used to Design the Reynoldsburg Tomato Festival special tabloid paper for ThisWeek Newspapers. I'm soooo familiar with that festival. Not quite as big as the Circleville Pumpkin Festival though. However, they are tomato crazy. They sold lots of ads for that paper. Your not that far from me. I'm near Westerville.
