Stevie's Special Guest tonight in Chicago...

I'm surprised none of the people at the Oprah taping mentioned this. Tonight, 04/09/2011, Stevie will have a special guest at her concert in Chicago~

Sheryl Crow!

Maybe Sheryl will sing on "Secret Love", too!

jcalzaretta 04-09-2011 12:32 PM

Yuck.....................

I'm actually happy to hear these two are spending some time together again. I wondered if they'd ever be close again after the whole Sheryl/Fleetwood Mac mishap.

WizNicks 04-09-2011 01:12 PM

YEY! Can't wait for tonight!

ragrsrocalot 04-09-2011 01:19 PM

Glad to hear that. I think that Sheryl is an extremely talented musician, singer, and songwriter. I had the chance to see Stevie & Sheryl at Jones Beach in July 2001, on the TISL tour, and they were great together. Great show all around. Anyway, enjoy the concert.

Maybe they decided this at dinner after the show, after a couple glasses of wine :woohoo:

Was Sheryl pushing her new "cookbook" that her chef wrote and she stuck her name on, so that it might have a small chance of selling? She was on Racheal Ray the other day (with her chef doing all the cooking) and she says "I don't even cook"! Well then, I'm just going to rush right out and buy that book right now! NOT.

Dodfather 04-09-2011 01:25 PM

I love Sheryl and, like louie, am so pleased that they're hanging out a bit more again! Not too much thoh, it's not the Sheryl show after all, haha. Really looking forward to hearing about what they do tonight!

I hate that cookbook though! I cannot believe it's actually called If It Makes You Healthy!! I like a good pun as much as the next guy but come on, that just sucks!

ontheEdgeof17 04-09-2011 03:16 PM

Maybe it will be a duet Landslide like on Oprah?

Have fun everyone!

well, look at it this way - at least she's straightforward about it unlike most other celebrities with ghost writers who never admit to that but obviously have no clue what's in the book they supposedly wrote...

plus sheryl looks great and fit - so if she eats what's described in the book, and if i could afford a cook to cook for my family some of the presumably healthy meals in that book, i might be interested.;)

wheart 04-09-2011 03:39 PM

So I'm wondering with Sheryl there maybe Stevie will go out on a limb and do a song she doesn't done on this tour so far? Nah..Sheryl will prob sing on Sorcerer and Fall From Grace and that will be it.

APerfectLie 04-09-2011 05:48 PM

Maybe Sheryl will take Rod's place on Leather and Lace

That's funny! Or Sheryl could take Stevie's place....and Stevie could walk away from that hot mess of a duet. Just sayin....

mikebise 04-09-2011 05:54 PM

Let's hope Stevie & Sheryl share a couple bottles of wine beforehand~ and someone YouTube's the concert! ;)

Big Mouth!:p

vivfox 04-09-2011 06:40 PM

In addition to singing with Stevie, maybe Sheryl will sing The First Cut Is The Deepest with Rod. Maybe all 3 of them with Rod's backup singers will sing We Are Family.

mikebise 04-09-2011 06:46 PM

Oh Hell! I forgot that "The First Cut Is The Deepest" was Crow's new song on her BEST OF~!!! Yeah, she'll probably do that with Rod, since hers was a pretty big hit, too, for 2004. I hope Stevie joins them for that!

Honestly, I never even knew Rod's version was considered "famous" until I saw him on the H&S tour. Sheryl's version was huge!

WildHearted 04-09-2011 07:15 PM

Honestly I can't say I've even heard the original version of The First Cut is the Deepest... or any version at all, aside from Sheryl's.

Well it was written by Cat Stevens, but P.P. Arnold released it first and then Cat Stevens decided to record it himself. Rod didn't release his until ten years after Arnold's 1967 release.

I hope they do it together tho!

APerfectLie 04-09-2011 08:12 PM

If only they'd pull this one out...

Well you just weren't around in the 1970's so that's understandable Jimmy.

Partially right. They did Sorcerer and Landslide together and then she came back onstge when Stevie covered the Zepplin song during the encore.

TrueFaith77 04-09-2011 09:11 PM

I almost went to the Chicago show. Now I'm glad I missed it.

Wait - Landslide?? Has she ever done that song with anyone else before? Besides the Dixie Chicks, I mean.

djdanii 04-10-2011 12:05 AM

i dont wanna sound dumb or get off topic, or if anyone can redirect me to a different post: what is the whole Sheryl Crow/Fleetwood Mac incident? Could someone please explain or redirect me? Thank you!!!

Not that I'm aware of. You could tell that she really liked having Sheryl Crow out on stage with her. She was smiling more during some of those songs. I think she likes to have someone to sing back and forth with at times like she does with Lindsey.

Gypsy is correct, Sheryl did Sorcerer and Landslide and Led Zepp"s Rock N Roll for encore. Note that Sheryl did NOT do First Cut with Rod.

Gotta say, Rod brought his A game and his band and stage looked like Robert Palmer's Simply Irresistible!! 2 hours of Rod not as bad as I thought it would be!! I loved the part where Rod kicked out about 30 autographed soccer balls into the audience.!!

Since she taped Oprah on Friday, I am wondering when it will show???

Following the recording of Say You Will, Stevie felt outnumbered in the band as a woman, and was miserable. Stevie basically said she'd never record with Fleetwood Mac again. There was talk within the band about bringing in another female member as a muse and to comfort Stevie. Sheryl Crow was the one who was chosen. Sheryl blabbed about joining Fleetwood Mac in the media before it was really official, and that REALLY p!ssed Lindsey off (I don't think he was keen on the idea to begin with). On the eve of going out on the Unleashed tour, Sheryl backed out on joining the band, and that p!ssed Stevie off. Since then, Stevie and Sheryl haven't spoken about one another in the media, haven't done any shows together, haven't helped with each other's albums, and haven't been spotted together socially.

They did Oprah and the Chicago concert together, so there cant be that much bad blood I'd say!!! Stevie called her one of my best friends on the intro.

When her and Sheryl sang landslide, she dedicated it to oprah and staff for making everything so smooth and great for her! Stevie had a Lot of charisma tonite! :)

portiab44 04-10-2011 12:48 AM

Oops I meant to say yes, they did sing leather and lace lol. Also when I saw Stevie and Sheryl at RL they seemed very close they were sitting next to each other and deep in conversation :)

Yeah, these were their first public appearances together since 2008 when that whole thing with Fleetwood Mac when down. I'm glad to hear they're on good terms... they seem like genuine friends.
