i just d/l'd Thanks. and it was recorded at Blossom in Ohio, RAL tour. That was my very first Stevie concert! :]

mikebise 04-09-2011 08:27 AM

Huh? I thought the old Westwood One 1986 concert was recorded at Weedsport, NY.

skuncles 04-09-2011 09:02 AM

Yeah it always has been, but they do have another show (at least these songs have aired before) back in '07 portions of the Blossem show were aired. I haven't listened to the NY show in a while (I just remember that she does a horrendous version of "Stop Draggin" with Peter Frampton). Actually the whole RAL tour has some rough moments. Although she was "looser" then than she is now which does make the shows interesting.
I finally was able to get a hold of the first Stevie show I ever saw, May 2, 1986 in Hartford CT, and it's a rough show. At the time I thought it was the best thing I'd ever seen or heard, but twenty some odd years later it's tough to listen to.

mikebise 04-09-2011 09:15 AM

So, these are different versions than the Weedsport, NY recordings, correct? These are different than what Chris posted last week of the Westwood One 1986 concert?

I love the Rock A Little tour, so I would want different versions. Just making sure before wasting time recording the ENTIRE MAMMOTH FILE...

skuncles 04-09-2011 09:41 AM

I can't say for certain these are different, I thought I had instant access to my 86 radio show, but I can't find at the moment. I think I only have the NY show on LP. But they do appear to be different.

Ooh, another time on the tour when Stevie wailed out:

"And when I call will you walk gently through my shadow?!!"

Fantastic!!!!! I wish more songs existed, of course, but these four are amazing, and a wonderful slice of Stevie History!

The 2007 Westwood One show was broadcast on March 10, 2007 and the show had the same songs "Talk To Me", "Leather & Lace" and "Stand Back" from the Ohio show (recorded in June of '86 according to the voice over. The other songs broadcast in the 2007 show were "Outside The Rain/Dreams", "Gold Dust Woman" and "Edge Of Seventeen" from Houston from 1989 and "Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You" from the House Of Blues 1994.

Thank you! I was worrying.... ;)

Keith 04-09-2011 05:16 PM

thank you Macfanforever..

I don't think I' ve heard these versions of classic Stevie.. I love each one..

One thing I can say about Stevie Nicks and her music is that it's the one thing I can depend on.. and I always turn back to it, especially in those "dark" hours.

I had to put my beloved Gypsy of 19 years to sleep this morning. It was hard but it was special.. because we both knew it was time.. she started going downhill than lost feeling in both her back legs and the vet suggested the obvious.. so i put my arms around her and let her go... she was my beautiful child...and gave me a wonderful 19 years..

alas, I'm good, yep crying a bit.. but I focus on the love we shared and hanging out in my flat listening to Stevie - thank you Ms. Nicks.. your music means the world, especially during times like this.. and remembering my Gypsy.. and a memory is all that is left for you now.. ahh.. but what an enchanted memory...

thanks Macfanforever for sharing the music.. as I needed it tonight..

just feeling like the tin man.. "now I know I have a heart.. cause its breaking.."

Keith 04-09-2011 05:48 PM

and macfan..

Stevie ends Edge by saying..

"..tonight ah.. was a night for me that I really.. for whatever my own reasons are.. needed some love and some energy.. and i want you to know you were there for me.. and I'll always be there for you..." - Stevie Nicks.

and in my karma sapphire the stars must be my friends tonight.. this music came to me at the perfect time.. "and I thought there was a connection.."

thanks for sharing.. you never know.. :-)

mikebise 04-09-2011 05:52 PM

Oh, I was listening to that ending earlier, thinking similar thoughts about my own Rex, and how Stevie helped me then.

Sending you all the positive energy. I'm so glad Stevie's music is there for you.
