Jondalar 04-04-2011 05:06 AM

is this another person screwing with her fans, they should put it out there, I guess at least we know there will be a special edition album.

and the FIRE FLYS

I thought that AOL listed an extra track CD...or A Maxi Single...what ever. Stevie used AOL as a launching pad to the trailer for her movies.

Dodfather, what is not to miss? Bonus Track CD with the release date.

Jondalar...I hope you didn't assault me with line about screwing fans...

For anyone that cares...please don't poison my day...seeing this was a gtreat thing.

Dodfather 04-04-2011 07:54 AM

I saw that tyhe release date was here and I did not mean to offend. I meant more that I wondered if the actual tracks were listed there or not. This could well be possible and the page just didn't load right for me or something, that's all.

I don't understand anything being said on this thread...

I thiiink what the AOL page means is that there's a deluxe version of IYD being released with Bonus Tracks.

I might be waaay off base, though.

Jondalar 04-04-2011 08:27 AM

this thread is soo weird, but I guess the good jist is this:

There will be a bonus tracks album!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's kinda like that epidemic of gibberish striking newscasters.

And yet I feel everytime I add to it, I make matters worse.

wtf are FIRE FLYS

DeeGeMe 04-04-2011 02:11 PM

Barnes & Noble is showing a CD with bonus tracks but oddly, that edition is listed for less than the regular CD which makes no sense whatsoever--neither item comes with a track listing or any additional information. It's why I haven't preordered anything yet--seeing what shakes out in the next couple of weeks or so in case there is a bonus edition of some type.

mikebise 04-04-2011 02:41 PM

So, no bonus tracks have been NAMED? Is that what I'm sifting out of the sands of Time like shattering glass going past me like a tunnel to the Sea???

Okay, so. Wow. I have a question but I really don't even know where to begin. So there are or are not bonus tracks?

LMAO everybody breathe. We've speculated for a while that there'd be an album with bonus tracks. This link adds some validity to those claims, but gives no definitive info, so we will just have to see what happens!

mikebise 04-04-2011 03:29 PM

And I can't get to AOL from work, but here is that info from Google:

So..... There's an "S" on Bonus TrackS on AOL........ Hmm......

Josh2003 04-04-2011 03:31 PM

Can they really call it a "bonus track" if it's on a CD that one can easily purchase in the stores?

Are there only going to be a limited number of the "bonus track" CDs? Are they going to be exclusive to certain retailers? If "yes" to either, then I say it's safe to call it a bonus track. But if I can walk into any B&N, or go to any online retailer, and choose between either the 13-track CD and the "bonus track" CD, it seems a bit...stupid...to call the track a "bonus."

To me, it makes more sense to offer the bonus track to only those people who pre-order, or who purchase from iTunes, or from one exclusive retailer. Then it truly is a "bonus," and not just a "I bought the version with 14 tracks" gimmick.

mikebise 04-04-2011 03:34 PM

Does it matter? We're getting an EXTRA STEVIE SONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BTW, I've already pre~bought In Your Dreams 4 times from different retailers. Now, just waiting on iTunes..... :)

wheart 04-04-2011 03:48 PM

I'm thrilled if we're getting bonus tracks but I already shelled out $17 for my pre order copy which I'm assuming will not have the bonus tracks on it. kinda annoying

Hawkeye 04-04-2011 03:49 PM

someone should ask David on Twitter about this Bonus Track stuff.

And the mystery continues...

Why has everything been so freaking cryptic with this album?! :]

That was quick:

@StevieNixRox I don't know pretty confusing !

Gotta love it.

Musicman408 04-04-2011 04:47 PM

Just out of curiosity, does Dave have to follow you on twitter to respond to you? I really don't use Twitter, so I don't know these things!

No, he doesn't have to follow you. You can tweet something to him and it will come up on his end for him to read only (your tweet won't come up on his timeline, but it he responds to you, his response will).

I'm pretty new to twitter too! It's kind of confusing!

Musicman408 04-04-2011 04:55 PM

So, I would just start the message off with @DaveStewart, and we're good to go?

That is their point. Why try to increase sales by expanding the fan base when you can entice the existing fan base to buy multiple copies? I won't be surprised when the iTunes version has an Album Only bonus track and the amazon version has one too, but of a different track. Meaning you have to buy the whole album from each retailer to get the one new track. And they wonder why people pirate albums...

Barnes and Noble does put out exclusive versions of albums. I have a couple of Carly Simon CDs that have B&N-exclusive bonus tracks on them. So, yes, if this is the real deal, this will be a bonus version. My fear (and hope!) is that every major retailer will have their own "bonus" configuration with a different exclusive bonus track. :blob1: Won't happen, but one can dream.

tabruns 04-04-2011 10:35 PM

The bonus tracks are different versions of "Cheaper Than Free"

Just kidding. :)
