u always here about s&l fighting but........
i've never heard about stevie and christine fighting. was there so much "girlpower" btwn them that they stuck together against all the testosterone around them?
|
I genuinely think and *hope* there was enough girl power between them. They have an inspirational friendship ♥

Christine & Stevie have alot of class!
Stevie has said a number of times that she felt Chris was like a sister! In my opinion, those two have always been what I loved most about the Mac!:) |
Christine had said around The Dance that Stevie hadn't been herself for a long time and that it was nice to have her back. So I suspect there was some distance/strained relations from about 1982 to 1996

Probably an unlikely friendship, but strong and beautiful one by all accounts. I'm sure there have been times of tension, but at the end of the day they love and support each other.
They have always had such a big sister/little sister vibe! In some interviews the relationship really reminds me of mine with my sister. |
We know too that Stevie was very reluctant about doing the Say You Will tour without Christine. I suppose by the time of the Unleashed tour, Stevie accepted that Christine is gone, and the fact that she's now the only female in the band.
|
I wonder if Stevie and Chris even speak anymore? It seems like Chris has basically severed all ties of her rock and roll past.
|
I thought they exchanged emails?

I would think Christine keeps in closer touch with Mick than Stevie, but I don't think she's severed her ties as much as the ties are loose, considering her location. Michele |
I think they had their moments, just like any friendship. Billy Burnette posted this on Twitter a couple of months ago...

^^ I have a mental image of that and it's HILARIOUS!

Has anybody here kept in contact with former friends/co-workers from 13 years ago? |
people fight.. but that doesn't mean they aren't close... these two were war buddies... but you eventually go your separate ways... they both have very strong personalities..
|
Yeah, I tend to doubt they're in contact much these days. But like many old friends, I bet when they do see each other it's like no time has passed.
Didn't Stevie say something about knowing she could show up at Christine's door in the middle of the night with a suitcase in hand? Something about how Christine and Sheryl are the only two women she she could ever do that to. I think I read that somewhere... |

Like on the Dance tour, I would watch them and get amused because Christine used a tamborine for a song and Stevie had zillions of them and Christine would go up to the stand to get a tambo and Stevie would like hand her two or three and to try on for size and Christine would kind of brush her away as if to say, "I can grab a tamborine for myself, you don't need to be a salesgirl about it." Michele |
Well that's why Christine doesn't throw chairs. She gets dismissive, sarcastic. Whereas Stevie has a petulance about her--she'll jump across a room and choke you.

Christine's definitely much more practical than Stevie in just about every sense haha. |
Christine has always had a general respect for Stevie, but they are very different personalities. Though, over the years, she has made little digs about her, which in fact, are not off base.
She would comment about how Stevie writes so many songs, and she wasn't so enamored with Stevie's airy fairy ideals. One of her infamous quotes was when she asked by an interviewer "How does it feel to be a sex symbol in rock and roll?" She responded "I don't know, ask Stevie Nicks." |

i think of them as the big sister w/ lil jabs and the lil sister that rolls her eyes. |
