Atlanta concert: 3/24/11
Hello everyone: I'm headed to see Stevie tomorrow night in the ATL. Philips Arena is an excellent concert arena, so I'm looking forward to Stevie's performance there. My first time seeing her was last August in Santa Barbara and I thought she sounded great. (I'm curious on how many songs she'll be able to fit into her set on this current tour.)
Hopefully, Rod is better (if he did indeed have the flu) and the show will be a good one for his sake and for his fans' sake. |
I think Philips Arena is great, too. That's where I saw FM on the SYW tour (June 2003). Have a fun time at the concert!!!

Too bad you didn't get to go to the 2003 FM concert there. I really wanted to see them again at Philips Arena in April 2009, but couldn't go. Still, lucky you getting to see Lindsey solo! I am so hoping to catch a Lindsey solo concert if he tours with his next album!!

Have a great time and be sure to report back! :woohoo:

I just bought tickets. I held out hoping to get better tickets at a better price. I considered nosebleed, but in the end I decided I had to at least be near the stage...so it's not uber close row wise, but at least the section is next to the stage. I like to people watch, so I think it'll be fine for that.
|
Got my tickets today too! Can't wait!:D
|
After seeing Rod's setlist from the Tampa show last night, I doubt I'll stay for his entire set. I'll probably bolt after Downtown Train. I'm looking forward to hearing Stevie and don't care what she has on her setlist as long as she sounds good. But, to be honest, I'm not a big fan of his.
|
The only reason I'm going to stay is to see if a duet does make it into the show...
|
We are getting our tickets when we get there around 4 or 5. We did this last year for FM there and got 2nd row aisle. So I see no problem with doing the same thing this year.

Can you guys film the Secret Love video and post it? Please
|
There are like a gazillion excellent seats on the broker sites right now for well below face value. Y'all Atlantians are so spoiled!
|
Oh Yes!!! We would all love to see the video. Bits and pieces from last night are not enough. I want to see this darn thing already!
|
We are here and I checked 3 times at the box office and he said absolutely no more floor seats left!!!! I'm a little upset but we still have decent seats. Sec 115 row e seats 3 and 4. I'm accepting the fact that I won't get a handshake so I'm going to make the best of it and enjoy a cold one.
|
Please try to get a video of the video, even if Stevie is out of focus on stage. We don't need to see her, just the video.
|
I tried it was imposible. Awesome shots of Stevie in various outfit and Dave in a white room playing elec guitar, woods, top hat, spinning...it moved fast. Once they walked upstairs in her foyer...no mick.
just heard love is first time live...amazing!! She ended by saying "pray for the world." |
forgot to say rod introd her...so maybe a duet...no rock n roll

Passion and Young Turks duets! I am in heaven right now. :blob2::blob2::blob2::blob1::blob1::blob1:
I really hope someone got audio or video of this! Now I really feel bad for the fans that went to the Tampa show, they were robbed. |

Have to admit, if it's true, it sounds super cool. Not cool enough for me to do the Hollywood Bowl though. I just live it through you guys. :D Jamie |

Wow, Stevie doing Passion! Nice!
|
Hmm but no duets on her songs? Weird... I thought for sure they would do Stop Draggin My Heart Around!
|
They=rod and stevie. Passion was awesome and rod is good for her, bringing her out of her shell...i saw a little of the old stevie!!

Glad to hear they did some duets tonight. I went to the Tampa show last night. I thought Stevie was very good. She seemed to be having a good time and much more energy then on the "Unleashed" Tour. Basically I only went to see Stevie but decided to go buy a couple of those 22 ounce beers they were selling and listen to Rod's performance. Besides that I had made friends with some people in FL2 Row 16, 17 and 18. Great girls! and couple of guys too. Anyways to my utter surprise Rod's performance was fantastic. I really enjoyed it. The stage was nice and all the musicians were really into it. We were dancing the entire set, nothing like I expected. I hope I can catch another show on this tour, it was so much fun.

I got all of Passion and Young Turks on video! So glad she came out for some duets! Let me tell you guys something...if you are there to see a Stevie show (yes, she way great) but it's a Rod show. His stage blew Stevie's away, I think he changed more than she did and his background players were great! I loved everything Stevie did and Love Is was a HUGE highlight. Just her, the piano and Sharon and Lori. GDW was great as usual, Stand Back and Edge were spot on. What's funny after all these years Waddy still has to count her in on Edge. But anyways its worth it and Stevie did great as usual but she could pick up a think or 2 from Rod.
But when she danced with his background singers it was AMAZING!!!! She had all their moves down. I'm going to post but it will probably be tomorrow since I've had a few libations. Rock On!!!!!!!! |

The way you described her moving in synch with Rod's dancers gets me thinking the same thing. Michele |
YAY! Thanks for letting us know you got BOTH on video!! I'll be looking for it tomorrow. :wavey:
It's nice to have something to look forward to after these long Stevie dry spells. :) Jamie |
