Stevie in uk concert appearance announced!!!

It's just been announced on absolute radio Stevie will be at hard rock calling with Rod this summer in London!!!!!

APerfectLie 03-09-2011 03:39 AM

I don't want to burst any bubbles, but I think the radio announcer may have gotten mixed up with his upcoming North American tour with Stevie and the current announcement of Hard Rock Calling with Rod headlining... Rod's headlining date there on Sunday June 26th has been announced, but no mention of Stevie.

http://www.hardrockcalling.co.uk/201...t_in_hyde_park

Granted there is always the possibility that she may pop up, I wouldn't hold my breath.

golddustboy71 03-09-2011 04:12 AM

Don’t worry its page three of the London Metro newspaper this morning Rod Stewart with special guest Stevie Nicks.......Hard Rock Calling concerts are an all weekend festival with usually up to three or four acts doing proper sets ( Bonjovi are the day before)….so Stevie will almost certainly be doing a set of at least 8-9 songs I would have thought…. Stevie performing in Hyde Park London… what can I say but WOW!!!...Finally we have her solo in the UK after 22 long years !:blob2:

Gypsy-Rhiannon 03-09-2011 05:08 AM

Stevie has been announced here:

http://hardrockcalling.co.uk/2011/ne...d_rock_calling

Tickets go on sale with Live Nation at 9am tomorrow and then general release the following day

Never been to anything like this before but will def be going. How do these things work? Do you have to get there early to make sure you get a good spot?

golddustboy71 03-09-2011 05:29 AM

Ive been before...just think of it as a festival..all standing no reserved seating...doors about 12.30 and concerts usually start around 3-4 until 10 ish. ...

Ok cool. Thanks for that. I'd rather Stevie were the headline and Rod the guest... ;-p

APerfectLie 03-09-2011 05:31 AM

Awesome! I'm happy for you UK peeps, but now this worries me as to what the hell is going to happen to her "summer tour" here in the US without Rod

Come on...first solo appearance here since The Other Side of the Mirror tour (and it's not even a tour...she isn't even the headline) ...forgive me if I'm not worried about her US summer tour right now ;) ...

Haha I know you aren't! But seeing as Rod has several dates in the UK, I'm sure Stevie will accompany him for several UK dates and be gone with Rod until God knows when and then never come back and tour the US properly. Oh, this hurts my everything :distress:

But at least you have talks of a tour without Rod. It looks like the best we can hope for is dates with him

He has other dates lined up here around that time?

From what I can see Rod's other dates are early June...way before Hyde Park. So Stevie would probably not even be here. It looks like the Hyde Park one is the last one

Mind you if she's coming all this way it would be nice if she could do some solo gigs. Wishful thinking...lol

Gypsy-Rhiannon 03-09-2011 05:53 AM

BTW...I realised she hasn't been here solo in 22 YEARS!!!

Stu 03-09-2011 06:22 AM

hope she also fits in Glastonbury that weekend !
:)

Stevie Nicks for Hard Rock Calling
Sunday tickets will go on sale this Friday
Wednesday 9th March 2011

buy tickets online
Stevie Nicks has been announced as the latest addition to Hard Rock Calling.

Stevie Nicks will grace Hyde Park as support to Rod Steward when she plays London's Hyde Park on Sunday 265th June. The former Fleetwood Mac superstar is the second artist to be confirmed for that day with many more yet to be announced.

Day tickets for the Sunday will be priced at £55, and will go on sale at 9am on Friday 11th March, and eFestivals will have links to buy them then.

Hard Rock Calling is an established London open air music event which showcases well known international acts, and a few legends over three days, and has a genuine festival feel to it.

The dates for the three days of Hard Rock Calling 2011 are from Friday 24th until Sunday 26th June with gates expected to open at 1pm, the music starting at 3pm, and ending at approximately 10:30pm on all three days.

Bon Jovi have previously been announced as Saturday night headliners. Day tickets are already available for Saturday, priced at £59. To buy tickets, click here.

I can't see her bringing all her stuff just for one gig... There'll be more.

I have a feeling Stevie and Dave are going to do something over there this Summer... He keeps talking about some big surprise or something for June... Dave will likely be over there around the same time. The play Ghost The Musical begins previews in London on June 22nd... Opens in July... I bet he's there for the previews. So it's the perfect opportunity for them to do something over there... Both their albums will be out.

Sanne2 03-09-2011 07:28 AM

Yay a Europe date, I'm happy for the UK fans, but what about the effing mainland?!

Liza 03-09-2011 07:58 AM

I did twitter dave on Monday as follows:
@davestewart - the way things are going now do you think there is any chance you and Stevie will do some concerts in UK this year?

his response
@StandbackLiza I'm not sure maybe !

So heres hoping - I just can not imagine Stevie bring all her crew etc and only doing one date - that just doesn't sound right!!

So excited Stevie in London :blob1: omg solo !!!

Dodfather 03-09-2011 09:23 AM

YEEEESSSSSS!! That day is the day after my friend's wedding though so if I can get there from Yorkshire on time, depending on Sunday train times- I WILL BE THERE!!

Update: AAAGHHHH! I can get presale ticket on tomorrow but I don't know if I'll be able to get from Yourkshire to London by train in good time that Sunday. It's a bit of a journey and too far in advance for the fares/times to show up. I don;t want to buy the ticket to find out I can't go. Much rather wait for an actual solo date or 2 but I might just have to take what I can get...

Me too! I can't believe the bad timing of this for me, lol. My friends live in the middle of nowhere in Yorkshire and timing trains could be very difficult. It can't be helped but it's annoying. Any other day of the year and I could manage easier. No way... I'll keep you all posted though!

Stevie tours here just for the Hell of it almost every year, even without an album, and you're "hurting" because of an unfounded fear that she will chuck her US Tour, which SHE and Dave Stewart have already confirmed. Priceless. :)

Stevie, it's not too late to just scrap the album, too, along with the US Tour, and just concentrate on being an opening act! :)

You have got to be kidding?! Do I have to remind you that it's been 22 YEARS since her last UK dates? She tours the US consistently and you should count yourselves lucky. You're freaking out about her abndoning you because of one date elsewhere in 22 years? Come on.

Sahara 03-09-2011 10:55 AM

Wish it was Stevie on her own, but still VERY exciting stuff :blob1:

blackdove 03-09-2011 11:29 AM

I am so excited about this gig! 22 years has been a very long time and I don't care if she's only going to perform as a support and only do 8 or 9 songs, it's better than the nothing we've had for so very long! I think if she does anymore dates than this we'll be very lucky...I dare not hope for it, for fear that it'll never happen!

Agreed! I will def be going. Trying (and failing) to not get my hopes up that she might announce some additional dates....

LittleCharmer 03-09-2011 12:41 PM

Oh god. I must go. Early birthday present or an extension of my overdraft, methinks..

But what if she adds more UK dates and I can't afford them because I've paid a small country's national debt to go to London for the day?!

Good lord. I'm hyperventilationg slightly.

Is this likely to sell out quickly? I'm in the same boat.

Gypsy-Rhiannon 03-09-2011 01:07 PM

Not sure. There are still tickets available for Bon jovi on the Saturday. It's not really the same as a normal concert..so maybe not...

That's true, Bon Jovi are really popular in the UK when they tour and they charge extortionate amounts for their gigs, you would have thought that at £66 for their day at Hyde Park they'd have all gone by now. Maybe it's because it's an outdoor, festival type gig that's putting some people off?

It is a gamble to take attending this gig, the cost of the ticket and travel to London etc, but you really can't be sure she'll tour here, with or without Dave or Rod. I'm not taking that chance, I'll be there on 26th June!

It's gonna be a fun atmosphere for those of us getting together too. Quite different to that of a regular gig. Can't wait!

Cannot believe that's the day I go on holiday and will not make it. My only hope is that another date is announced before this one!

gfd1963 03-09-2011 03:18 PM

Yaaay! Couldn't have come at a better time. I live 250 miles from London but as luck would have it, I will be there that weekend for my brothers 50th birthday/silver wedding anniversary on the Saturday. I had 4th row tickets for the Mac on the Unleashed tour which I missed because of illness so this has made my day!

TheWILDheart 03-09-2011 03:32 PM

I can't say much, but I have a friend who works for some kind of promotion company. Rumour has it that Stevie will be playing Shepherds Bush Empire in the summer. I wasn't sure how much I believed it, but why would she come all that way just for 1 supporting show???

OMG, that's a wonderfully intimate venue. But after playing so many nights at Wembley with FM, I would imagine Stevie herself could play a single night there by herself. London is such a massive city; I think way more than 2,000 people would want to see her. But then again, maybe she will be making several little stops. Too bad there are no casinos in London!

Exciting, right? Don't get me wrong, this could just be a rumour or something that might not come to fruition in the end. But I know it's a possibility. I think Dave has a lot to do with this and the reaction to the unleashed tour here was massive!
