Julia Wild Heart Version

This version was already posted in the Sisters of the Moon with the layers of Stevie thread,

This a higher quality version of that Julia which I was told is from the Wild Heart recording sessions.

This has become my favorite version of Julia since I discovered it,

I hope that many others enjoy it!

..... when you have time... ;)

SO loving you for that "Julia"!!!!!!!!!! :]

markolas 03-07-2011 06:20 PM

Oh, I've never heard the WH version of Julia. Thanks! :)

markolas 03-07-2011 06:30 PM

Ooh, me likey this one! Like the BD outtake, it appears to be a more or less finished version.

mikebise 03-07-2011 06:38 PM

This version was on the 1988 3-LP vinyl bootleg set, Uncirculated Rumours, but in terrible sound quality. I was told by a good source that it is from the sessions for The Wild Heart, so I assume it is.

I've loved THIS verison for almost 23 years, but today, Matt made my DREAM come true by posting this ~ THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm glad that you love it so much, I think it must be from The Wild Heart sessions because her voice sounds different to the way she sings it on the Bella Donna Reels.

mikebise 03-07-2011 07:10 PM

Okay, Matt, this is a F-ing GOLDMINE!!!!!!!!!! Do you know how MANY crappy sounding versions of the Rock A Little "Rose Garden" I've downloaded??!!!?!!!!!??? This is amazing!!!!!

You don't have "I Call You Missing" and the fast Rock A Little version of "Thousand Days" in great quality like these, do you??????? ;)

mikebise 03-07-2011 07:23 PM

9. The Dealer (faster outtake)

This one doesn't work for me?

Wow I suppose it's one of those things I downloaded and then kinda glossed over, but now I see how amazing it is!
I do have "I Call You Missing" and "Thousand Days" but they're not in great condition, particularly "ICYM" it sounds pretty muffled. I absolutely LOVE the sax outtake of Thousand Days! I would give anything for a Master Reel quality version of this.

But anyway here they are:

I wonder if I mention the SA version of I Call You Missing enough, that eventually someone who has it will have mercy on us and post it.

I've never heard it, and would love to! Anyone who has it, no matter what quality, please, please post it!

mikebise 03-07-2011 07:31 PM

Also, "Are You Mine?" is really "Julia".

Thanks, Matt! This is incredible stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nathan 03-07-2011 07:39 PM

what a treat! effin golmine is right, mike.

Julia is amazing! I haven't listened to all
of it, only the last two thirds, but wow. its
just like...glitter in my ears. .

speaking of glitter, don't you agree that
what stevie should do in concert, is, at the
end of gold dust woman, where she does
that weird interpretive dance thing, have
some chutes open up and like release gold
dust/glitter everywhere???!!!

God, that would be cool. then everyone
comes out all sparkly. quite an effect
(affect?) that would have.

I've only listened to Julia so far, but only
the last two thirds of it. So I've not heard
the unencumbered Roy Bittan Roll Me
Away yet. but I love all those things on
the back I missed the first 600 times I played
wild heart julia. I love 'I would tryyyyyyyyyyy'
harmonies.

now -- how do we take that track....and add a
bass line to it.

You're very welcome!
I'm just happy to share! I'm glad I went looking through all these files just to find that Wild Heart Julia, cause this Reel compilation probably would've stayed buried.

I've been trying to organize all the Reels and such I downloaded from the demos and live performances thread.

This version of "Julia" from The Wild Heart...

It is SO much better than ALL of the others...

Since August 1988, the first time I heard the lyric:

"When I run through your door
I am... freed from my slavery..."

NONE of the Bella Donna perfect quality versions sound like that ~ have THAT much emotion in them!!!!!!!

I am STILL freaking out, guys!!!!!!!!!! 23 years of LOVING this version, even in poor sound quality, and NOW my DREAM is realized,,,

silvasprings 03-07-2011 08:01 PM

Today has obviously been a great day!

Mike I'm so happy that this version is better than anything you've heard for 23 years!!!

And now we have the In Your Dreams cover as well!!!

It's such an awesome time to be a Stevie Nicks fan!

I don't think anyone's heard it. The quality should be A++++ since it was actually mixed and ready for the album.

But someone has it right? Is it in circulation?

mikebise 03-07-2011 08:28 PM

I know a woman in San Antonio who has the Street Angel "I Call You Missing". She used to dangle it and the Street Angel "If You Were My Love" in front of me, quoting lyrics, promising to make me copies, and she never did.

This was 3 years before the Street Angel "If You Were My Love" began to be mass circulated among Stevie Fans.

Thats just MEAN! Has anyone heard it? Is it similar to the RAL version or is it more Street Angel-ish i.e. Stripped down and Guitary.

Excuse my lack of musical terminology - I just describe it like it sounds
