Stevie Q&A for The Ledge?

Hey guys-
John (APerfectLie) had an awesome idea about Stevie possibly doing a Q&A session here on The Ledge. I'm not sure what the logistics would be especially since she doesn't own a computer, ha, but maybe something could be worked out where we send her questions and she can respond to the ones she wants. I would be more than willing to contact her management tomorrow with the potential idea but will only do it if this is something you guys want so please let me know your thoughts and thanks John!

Personally, I would die if she were to answer a question asked by myself. It's an amazing idea. Maybe so amazing that it couldn't possibly happen :s

Gypsybecca 03-06-2011 01:23 PM

I like your idea. It wouldn't hurt to ask, right? Stevie should know at this point that only her longtime, faithful fans will actually BUY this album.

Wasn't she doing that on her own endorsed Nicks Fix website? But hasn't answered any in a long time. I can't imagine she would agree to do it for additional websites too, even if it was full of her big fans.

And I think more than just her biggest fans buy her cd's. There are a handful of die-hards out there, but certainly not enough to make producing a cd worth it to her music business people.

You Should Be So Lucky (Lucky, Lucky, Lucky!) She never updates the Ask Stevie section of her official site so sorry guys, but no chance she'd do that here. Sorry guys!

I wouldn't be so sure, lately, a lot of artists are charting quite high on their name alone, look at Heart's latest release. I think it was their first top ten album for many a year? I think Stevie will sell a decent amount, if only because of who she is. She's become a sort of Rock Legend, and lately, she's getting mentioned a lot more.

Anyhoo, I'd die if Stevie did a Q&A session. It's worth a try!

Gypsybecca 03-06-2011 02:06 PM

Good point about Heart, Artemis. I hope that all the radio shows, Glee and Twilight mentions, etc. help her sell more. And I'm happy to see that she is getting the respect that she deserves.

Oh, and I didn't even realize that the Nicks Fix was still around...

And weren't her "answers" over there sort of ... well ... short?
We all bitched about that at the time.

I think this would be different than her Ask Stevie section on the Nicks Fix. It wouldn't have to be an ongoing thing, but rather more of a one time interview. I figure we could compile some questions and Lindsay could send them to her at once, or better yet meet her for a one on one interview! I think Stevie would be open to it. They are trying to get her out there and she is doing all kinds of interviews, why would she be so against doing an interview for the most visited website about her? If you organized this Linds, you'd be my hero! :xoxo:

Thanks for the encouragement! I have a plan and will be executing it tomorrow. I'll keep you all posted.

On that note, give me some wording to describe The Ledge, i.e. "Stevie's biggest fan site", "Most visited website about her", "Number one resource for info on Stevie", "Where her die-hard fans discuss her". Help me out!

Ask her how in the hell Snookie got on the cover of rolling stone.

Gypsybecca 03-06-2011 06:48 PM

Ask her if she's on Team Edward or Team Jacob! Jk.

Ask her how many old "forgotten" demos she has and if she's planning on recording any more of them. ;)

its a nice idea. but i have concerns. sent you a pm.

the first thing someone would have to do is get past Karen, and I don't see that happening.:o

I think it's more likely for Stevie to do a live Q&A on twitter with Dave. I mentioned it to him before and he thought it was a great idea. Maybe I'll send a tweet to him about it again since the album release date is closer now and see what he says.

Not to sound discouraging, but if Stevie were okay with doing a Q & A at The Ledge, wouldn't it have already happened? I can't imagine that she has never been asked. Can anyone give some insight on this? Moderators? Michele??

That's what I was thinking, but at the same time, there's an album to promote now and I think she may have a newfound grasp on how important her diehard fans are to the sale figures of that album. I do think that it's more likely that she'll do a Q&A with Dave on Twitter, though. He seems to be a source of comfort to her while stepping out into the big bad world of technology. ;)

I don't think it's possible. But if we're lucky, we'll get Bekka someday.

Too bad we can't get Lindsey.

Q&As are only as informative as the subject, obviously. Sometimes they don't work. There's a big bunch of Q&As on the Penguin already, & some of them are great while others are boring & pointless. Sometimes it's not who you think is going to be great, too. For example, Billy Burnette was always funny & charming in radio interviews & seemed a lot less serious than Rick Vito, but when we did the Q&A with Billy, he said nearly nothing in few words. He was boring & bored. Rick, on the other hand, talked a lot, & seemed appreciative of the whole opportunity to take questions from us (whereas he had always struck me as stuck up & formulaic on the radio).

Stevie has already demonstrated her boredom with the whole format in the Q&A on her official site. She wouldn't be any more talkative here or elsewhere. She's infinitely better when she's being interviewed. That's the format to catch her in.
