Age milestones
So I'll be 40 on March 22, less than month away. Yet I dont feel any anxeity over this "massive" event. What's wrong with me? Don't I get it? ANyone else have issues with turning a certain age?
|
I'm 26 right now and it kills me to think I'll be even closer to 30 in June on my birthday. Aging sucks. End of.

30 wasn't so bad, although I thought it would be before I got there. I'm 37 now, and my 30's (while not as exciting and filled with carelessness as my 20's) have been great!
|
40 was totally uneventful. But sometimes I think oh, I wish I would have done ____ when I was younger or oh, it's probably too late for me to start ______. It's very subtle. I think the fire fades a little in your forties because you kind of begin to accept your lot in life, whatever it is. And it's kind of freeing in a way.

30 is next year, and its going to freak me out. I'm fine with admitting that.
|
30 won't be so bad. I think as you age it's all just numbers really. Be happy whatever age you are. There's always someone a lot older.
|
I'll be 16 in April
*sigh* All alone on the edge of seventeen. |
I'm 20, 21 in October.. Yesterday someone was talking about being 19 and it suddenly hit me that I am no longer a teenager, and 20 is zooming past me.. It freaked me out somewhat..
|
I turned 30 last year, and I was absolutely freaked out about it. In fact, I didn't enjoy my last year of being in my 20s because I was so paranoid about turning 30. In the end, you wake up feeling the same on your 30th birthday as you did the day before. I'm finding the 30s are bringing more stability to my life, especially financially. So really, it's not that bad. :)

I'll be...
41 in May, turning 40 was no different to me than when I turned 30 or even 20 for that matter. I'm in the minority but I don't put a value on age - I feel young at heart & mind.
|
This August I'll be turning 21, so I'll finally be legal! :D (even though I don't like drinking cause I hate the taste :distress:)

When I was 18 I moved to Denver, on my own. I knew one person here, who I no longer see or speak to. I essentially walked away from my life and family and built a life separate from them. That was 19 years ago. I talk to my family a lot more now, so it's really shocking and somewhat of a reality check when I realize that cousins of mine who were todlers are getting married, having children or joining the Air Force. It really drives home how much time has passed. I've been in this city for more years than I was been alive when I moved here. Yikes! |

What a city to move to - I've been to Denver a couple of times, and driven over/thru The Rockies, stayed in Vail, visited Colorado Springs, and I know it's different when you're only visiting a place but I loved it - so fresh, such clean air to breathe up there, I loved it! Talking of age milestones, my next milestone will be 50 and I couldn't be happier about it - 20's were OK, 30's were pretty great, 40's have been brilliant, so I'm looking forward to doing even more exciting things thru the 50's! :blob1: |
I turn 18 in August and I can't frikken wait :blob1: Not sure why because if I want I can get alcohol now and I'm legally old enough to have sex already but it's an exciting prospect.
|
I was terrified of turning 30. I was mortified of turning 40. I am now 49 and can't wait to turn 50. I can't wait to tell people I am 50 because I look so much younger. I am on a weight loss schedule that I've been doing since July 4th of last year and by the time I actually am 50, I expect to look a whole lot better than I do right now.

just to clarify, im 17, i just turned it in january! so im on the edge of 17!

However, nasty is a sip of Manchewitz wine (the kind you drink for a Passover sedar). I think it's fortified with extra stuff or something and it's like drinking syrup |
Age, aint nothin but a number, (unless its a Roman Numeral, XL),

no need to feel any anxiety, the trick is to get there in one piece, &, keep going, (don't look back), a couple of years ago, (2009), back in the UK, I spoke with some older relative, (all in in their 70"s, &, 80's), they all stated the same thing, that despite the physical aging process, (the usual aches, &, pains), they all still felt relativly young, ie, their brains were still young, btw, this guy is LVI, but feels more like XVI, (wierd eh), Happy Birthday when it comes, enjoy, G. |

I've got you by 12 days! I don't think I feel anxiety about turning 40, but what does freak me out is how fast time has gone. Also the fact that even though I feel like I'm the same person I was when I was younger, my body is starting to remind me I'm not. Things hurt that never used to! |
I still don't feel 21, and I turn 23 this year. Oh well. Maybe in a few years it may catch up to me. But I hope it doesn't, because I enjoy my childlike and silly mannerisms. Why would I want stop hopping around the studio in handmade bunny ears or finding new hiding places around Uni? I love my adventurous streak. Last week I fell asleep in one of the classroom drawers. How many 22 year olds can say that?

i will be 34 in june and suprisingly my 30's have been pretty good so far. i thought i would have freaked out when i turned 30 but it wasnt a big deal at all. i think its because i havent really started to age yet so i am ok with it now. i am sure in 20 years i will be singing a different tune though, ha!!
the only time i feel older is when people ask me how long i have been married and i tell them a little over 10 years, ha ha!! its funny i feel younger now than when i was 23. |
18 in October  Around that time should be exciting for a few reasons, though I have exams and stuff between now and then so I'm not counting down the days. I can do most stuff legally already though, except drinking I guess.

I'll be 32 in July, and it honestly doesn't register with me. A few months ago, I found this article about Mark-Paul Gosselaar (or however you spell it; I don't feel like Googling it) getting divorced. The article said he was 36, and I thought "Damn, is he that old?" It took me a minute to realize that he's only 5 years older than I am...suddenly he didn't seem so old anymore.
