I'm hoping this is not the 1st of many delays for this CD!?

I doubt the album gets delayed because there have already been so many blurbs about it in magazines and online and on the Ellen show.

Dave said there would be new music in the trailer so maybe that's why they delayed it.

It's so weird to hear of record labels delaying things these days. Artists don't even need them.

While I'm majorly disappointed, It did seem a little soon:(. Look how most of the excitement has already worn off from hearing Secret Love so early - a record 3 1/2 months before the IYD release date! While I really was excited to hear snippets of new songs in the trailer, I really think Stevie needs to get a video out 1st to promote SL right now. Because if SL fails to leave an impression beyond her core fanbase, Stevie & Warners need to release something a little more adventurous and catchy right before IYD drops, provided she has something adventurous and catchy on the new record:cool:.

I find it hard to believe the vocals could be better than some on Rock A Little. I think Stevie's voice sounded epic on that album.

Another reason it wont be delayed is they no doubt want to release it before Lady Gaga drops her new record or any other major new release to try and capitalize with her charting as high as she can on the album charts. I'm sure they have got to be sweating a little bit that once Gaga's new record is released it will be dominating the music and entertainment press, and also the fact that SL has not really left that much of an impression.

SL hasn't left that much of an impression because it hasn't been actively pushed to radio (until recently), there's no video and there has been very little publicity. And quite honestly it's not an "amazing lead single" type of song. My hunch is that this single was just kind of tossed out there as a bit of an appetizer- very pleasant, but not as satisfying as the main course. It is just the preliminary reminder that Stevie is back and that this is how she is sounding. As such, I think SL has done its job.

As for the delay for the trailer, it could mean something either really good or really bad. On the plus side, this album must be so incredibly phenomenal that they are trying to keep a tight lid on it and just unleash it all at once shock-'n'-awe style; they must have very high hopes for its success. On the downside, perhaps the new songs are so bland that they don't want to create a negative spin in the Twitterverse months before its release. Personally, I don't know what WB is waiting for. I tend to think that when it comes to publicity in this hyper attention-deficit world, there is just no such thing as too much. And if they are really freaked out about the new songs getting leaked in snippets, just cut them out of the trailer. I can appreciate WB wanting to maintain an air of anticipation and mystery, but I also wonder if this strategy is going to backfire.

To be honest, I doubt they care that SL hasn't done anything, chart-wise, because they don't expect it to do anything chartwise. If this was 1981, they'd care, but, in 2011? Let's be realistic, the only charts Stevie will leave an impression on is the album charts. Even then, I think even the most optimistic would just expect a high peak followed be a slow fall.

As long as they don't release IYD on May 23rd when GAGA'S is released and stick to an earlier date of release, Stevie will show up first on the charts and do just fine.

Wouldn't it be interesting/funny to find on May 3rd that Secret Love isn't on the album... but was released as an early bonus track.

I'm very ambivalent about hearing any of the other tracks on the album or parts thereof.I know I will not be able to help myself if the chance presents itself to hear anything but it would be great to be able to hear it all at once and brand new.I'm going to have the go with the theory that the album is so spectacular that Warners really wants to keep it under wraps for a grand unveiling.I just have a good feeling about this one and I'm not generally the optimistic pollyanna type by a long shot.

If we see it at the weekend great! And if not, I'm sure it won't be long...

My bet is the SL vid won't be released until next week or later. The trailer won't come until mid to late March or April.
