New Stevie Interview 02/15/2011

New interview, starts with:

Stevie Nicks is back.

A decade after her last solo album, Nicks, the smoky-voiced Fleetwood Mac star, has a new single, "Secret Love" -- the first from her much anticipated album, "In Your Dreams" -- and is preparing to tour with Rod Stewart.

"Secret Love" already has fans guessing about who's the subject of the song. The truth is, even Nicks isn't sure.

"I think it's the only song I've written where I don't remember what the circumstances were," she told ABCNews.com. "It's definitely about something that was not to be and not to be talked about."

This.

Eventually, there will be another Fleetwood Mac album and tour. But for now, Nicks is focused on her new solo album.

"I'll let it go as long as it goes, wherever the train takes us," she said. "And when it's done I will regroup."

Three pages and not a shred of new info about IYD:shrug:..It is kind of funny that she doesn't even remember who "Secret Love" was written about though.

mezzoforte 02-15-2011 10:59 AM

Thanks for posting!

A couple of significant errors in the updates of the other members on the last page, though. Apparently Lindsey has three daughters, and 4 out of the 5 in the Rumours line-up reunited for the Dance. And of course, the glaring omission of John McVie.

B***h please. She knows exactly who the song is about and even describes the situation in detail. It's so convenient how her memory is selective only to protect the identity of the guilty party involved.

Which is why there will never be an autobiography until she manages to outlive all such guilty parties.

Ha, I was thinking that Dee would say this. I didn't predict you would too.

She may as well have just titled the song "Mick."

But why would she be modest about him? Mick would be the first one to tell us the song is about him. He probably will eventually.

Stevie didn't mean Sharon until '79... so that possibility can be excluded ;)

Not sure if you meant me or another Dee but - I actually buy Stevie on this one! I fully believe she has indeed forgotten is just being honest. LOL!! Like when she told Lindsey in the Australian interview that he left the band in '82 and he corrected her and then she finally said, "Oh hell, I can't remember!"

Anywho... when did Kristen have another daughter???

I guess she's sticking to her guns and, NOT talking about it! It is a secret love after all!

Yes, I thought of you, because you've discussed your view of Stevie's penchant for privacy and how careful she is about what she discloses and holds back.

yea, that does really suck that we had 3 pages and nothing new about IYD. Just the fact that Stevie might be entering the early stages of alzheimer and is slowly forgetting the subject matter of all her songs little by little.

It's not Alzheimer's... it's called cocaine :p. Stevie couldn't even remember 15 years ago what Gold Dust Woman was about when asked by Courtney Love. "Long nets of white cloud my memory..." ;)

This made me LMFAO for real. I don't think it has anything to do with Alzheimers but the way you said it sounded so serious. I just think she honestly cannot remember, I mean c'mon, she's written a gazillion songs. Sometimes I write in my own 'diary' and can't even remember what I was writing about when my thoughts are right in front of me. Steve's is human. Either that or Louie baby is right.

My favorite part of this? The casual way she mentions that he was probably married, but she still can't pinpoint who it's about.

Because there were just so many with wives? :xoxo:

Love you, Nicksie.

My thoughts exactly.

And give the Lennon and McCartney comparison a rest, please.

More like punishment, in the long run. I'd wager late-70s Mick Fleetwood made a far better F-buddy than a live-in partner.

"He must have been in a relationship," she said. "And I must have cared about that and didn't want to destroy his life or I wasn't fighting hard enough for it. I think I walked away from the relationship for that reason. It was just over and not to be."

errr, LINDSEY. :D

this statement reminds me of BC
when was secret love written?

I think she had an affair with the garbage man, and the affair was forbidden by his union. She used to make it with him at the garbage dump and on top of garbage cans. Thus inspired Secret Love.
