What’s your 9 to 5?

Just curious - what's everyone’s 9 to 5?

Astronaut? Supermodel? Celebrity chef? Professional Stevie impersonator? Etc., etc.

Me –nothing glamorous. I work as a medical illustrator at a university in Canada. Well, it’s a living. :)

cristochango 02-09-2011 03:22 PM

I'm a lifeguard and teach swim lessons :P

MissLadyLoki 02-09-2011 03:32 PM

I'm a business and history student in my junior year at a SUNY college. It doesn't pay well (I have to pay them ) and sometimes, especially on Thursdays this semester, I'm basically there from 12:50 to after 9 PM (it's Sci Fi Forum meeting and diner run that night)

HomerMcvie 02-09-2011 04:32 PM

I sleep as late as my body will let me(usually noon), then I either:
1) Do sound or lights for a band, that evening.
2) Play in a band, on weekends.
3) Deal with rental properties, being a landlord.

I've really got it made. Not so much money wise, but time wise. I usually have about 3-4 days off a week. There are weeks (few) that I'll work 6-7 days, and there are weeks when I only work 2 days. I like it like that. It allows for my travels.

ButterCookie 02-09-2011 04:47 PM

I'm a stripper at my local joint.

 JK I'm a sweatty student.

RickRobert 02-09-2011 04:52 PM

KarmaContestant 02-09-2011 04:57 PM

TerraRhiannon 02-09-2011 04:58 PM

I strip with Georgie. We're call ourselves the Pussycats.

By day I go to college studying Vet Assistant, & I have a part time job as a sales clerk at a shoestore, Naturalizer.

AliceLover 02-09-2011 06:05 PM

Student teaching...7th and 8th grade English.

When I'm not at school, I work in a hospital: radiology department.

chiliD 02-09-2011 07:32 PM

I'm a pilot of extraterrestrial vehicles. I think you earthlings call them UFOs. I'm not really human, I'm a human/alien hybrid ...by day.

I morph into human form and am a musician when darkness befalls the west coast of the North American sector of your planet.

I reside in Area 63; slangly referred to as "UN-Groomed Lake". (an inside joke amongst us pilots)

Now that you know that, I'll have to erase your memory and make you lose 9 minutes.

I've already taken two separate weeks in Nashvegas, in 2011. Where the beer runs are walks down on Broadway, drinking PBR, with a flask of Jim Beam Red Stag in my coat pocket.

At home, I rarely drink beer. Solo, I drink red wine. With company, usually whiskey and a mixer.

Hawkeye 02-09-2011 08:17 PM

Walgreens Manager

APerfectLie 02-09-2011 09:01 PM

I'm a full time student at the University of Texas and I'm a senior Mathematics major with a focus in Actuarial Science. I also have an occasional job in Midland which is 300 miles away where I'm a front-end manager at a grocery store called Albertsons. I did work full-time there, but when I transfered to UT, they offered to let me stay employed and only work during holidays! Therefore, I am basically fulltime during Christmas break and summer, but then I barely work any Sept-May.

brysondt 02-09-2011 11:22 PM

I work as a legal assistant for a law office and spend most of my days in a effing court room. During my free time, I enjoy being terrorized by people associated with Fleetwood Mac.

Caitlin....it's really not, haha. Actually, it's interesting for the most part. I want to pull my hair out...a lot. But it's good because I am sort of my own boss for the most part. I need a vacation already.

Full time mother, part time nurse, psychiatrist, maid, taxi, teacher, cook, best friend, worst enemy, Mrs. Fix-it, and bank of mom. For pay, I work in distribution for a pharma company. I've wanted to quit for several years now, but I don't have the balls to.

In my dreams, I'm a NICU nurse.

I'm a History student. Can't complain really, it's a pretty fun course.

Apart from when I'm doing assignments on the Holocaust at half three in the morning, then it's incredibly depressing.

Wow, we have so many impressive people on here. Fleetwood Mac should eat this **** up. I'm a junior in college. English major. Education minor. I do a ton of private tutoring, and I also run an SAT prep program out of a high school in my area.

Finished the phD last September and while looking for uni lecturing positions (I'll most likely end up in the US - hurrah) I'm working full time at a high school with 900 kids running the office there. I used to work at a non-mainstream school for children with social, educational and behavioural needs.

Yes, only an adult unit; 18 and over. I read your earlier post that you work with children and adolescents. I don't think I could handle that. Its hard enough to handle the misfortunes of adults, but children, that would be too much for me to handle.
