Yes, I saw someone who referenced the Simpsons episode where Homer found his likeness on a laundry detergent box in one of their online profiles. That reference made me like them even more than I already had -- which was quite a bit!

When I saw this epi, I thought Homer was on a cereal box, not detergent, but I must admit that he does look good as an anime character

My favourite episode was always "Krusty Gets Kancelled", just because of the Old Jewish Guy's dance to Old Grey Mare. I can't for the life of me find the video for the dance online :(

I can't find the scene where Homer tries to construct a BBQ pit and ends up with a pile of cement he finishes off with a beach umbrella he charges into with. Can you please post it?

Also, can you post when they go to this theme park, Bart tries to find a license plate with his name on it, and finds Bort? It's not just funny, but I can relate cause they'll have these dumb, obscure names, but no Cassie or Cassandra (my real name)

THAT Homer frolick with the Bunnies is EXACTLY how I am when walking and listening to Holiday Road or THWDIILA :p What really kills me in that scene is the half price Chocolate shop.

holidayroad 01-25-2011 08:46 AM

 I guess we got pretty off track about The Simpsons in the 'Kristen's Holiday Tips' thread! This all started with these two pics....

Does anything have the video of when they are driving through the 'Mac' Street? Only because I was watching this episode, and whilst going away into the kitchen they showed Fleetwood Mac's house, and when I came back it was gone.

Sorry this isn't better quality!

ButterCookie 01-25-2011 02:32 PM

I like the bit on the pretzel ep where the Fleet-a-Pita van pulls up next to Marge blasting Don't Stop.

AND "That Lisa Simpson has got more wicked witchery than Stevie Nicks!"

Or when Bart's driving the tank down the street while singing Don't Stop :p I don't get why the Mac have never been asked to make special guest appearances. I'm sure the boys at least would get a kick out of it :)

CreepingDeath 01-25-2011 03:19 PM

I grew up loving The Simpsons, but the new episodes aren't good or funny AT ALL. Seasons 1-9, FTW! :p

Holidayroad, can we see that scene? I don't think I saw it before

Oh yeah, and can I see that bit where bart is going through a neighborhood full of McMansions and passes by a house with Mick and Stevie doing the Rumours pose on the front lawn

The MacMansion vid above is the neighborhood of mansions vid. (It's on page 1 of this thread)

Here's Bart in the tank!

My husband doesn't like the newer ones as well either. The show has had its ups and downs. I think this season is going well!

I love it! Too bad I never saw that scene yet

Meowi 01-27-2011 05:42 AM

Best musical Simpsons scene ever.

I thought that was hilarious! 'In the Garden of Eden' indeed!! Well, 'that's Rock and/or Roll'!

MissLadyLoki 01-27-2011 09:52 AM

I love it! One of Bart's best pranks IMO

Of course, while we're on the Simpsons, how can we forget this great scene?

And, being quite the comic nerd, I found this hilarious

That Evil Homer bit left me rolling!

And now for another Simpsons musical scene

Artemis 01-27-2011 11:43 AM

Another classic Simpsons song

More love for Mr Burns!

MissLadyLoki 01-27-2011 11:51 AM

The Mr. Burns scene I was gonna post was the same as yours, but this one is dumb, but Homer's laugh made it

Being a vegetarian, I can certainly sympathize with Lisa!! After this episode aired, I was told by numerous people that 'You Don't Win Friends With Salad!!'

A fave pic from that episode!

This is from one of my fave episodes 'Hurricane Neddy'. Keep in mind that Springfield has had a hurricane and everyone's house is fine...except for the Flanders' house. The townspeople got together and tried to 'rebuild' the house. It was a disaster with a 'Load-bearing' Krusty the Clown poster, a 'floor' that was painted dirt, and a 'master bedroom' whose door you couldn't even crawl through. Then the house collaspses. Even Ned couldn't be nice through all of that.

e

Here's a longer clip. The sound quality isn't as good, though.

Thanks to this episode and my bookish nature, since my Dad saw it he's been calling me "The answer to the question I never asked" ever since. Thanks Dad...

Sorry if I brought up a bad situation.:sorry: It's a shame that plenty of people here at The Ledge think better of you than your dad does.

Don't worry about. It's a good episode despite that. I suppose that's the thing with life. Some people like you, some just don't *shrug*. Who's your favourite character of The Simpsons? I tend to fall for the Underdogs, and as such I love Moe, Cletus and Professor Frink. But my favourite has to be Ralph. He's such a doofy sweetheart. He really didn't stand a chance with Chief Piggum as a Father.

My fave is Lisa! My next two faves are Marge and Professor Frink. It's a sad fact of my life that I've met way too many people like Cletus and his wife Brandine!

"I can see my Maw from up here!"
"Hey Ma! Get off the dang roof!"

I love me some Cletus! My favorites are Groundskeeper Willie and Mr. Burns.

MissLadyLoki 01-27-2011 07:43 PM

I know I'm odd man out, but my faves are Homer and Bart. Even though they are the 2 most popular characters, they're the ones that make me laugh the most. Then again, I'm the same way with Family Guy, my 2 faves being Stewie and Brian
