?

Is this a repeat of her previous appearance or is this something new? I sure hope its new!! Woo hoo!! :blob2:
And I did verify that it says 1/13/2011 on that website. HMMMMM.....

Gypsy0033 01-06-2011 05:06 PM

I don't think that Stevie and Rod Stewart have ever been on the show together. I hope its not a repeat either.

Phoenix 01-06-2011 05:07 PM

It says "Brand New Episode"!:blob2: i just hope that ellen talks to her about HER SOLO CAREER, and HER NEW ALBUM. Not bloody fleetwoodmac this and that. I was sooo irritated when she was promoting Crystal Visions and ellen was like well everyone wants to know when will fleetwood mac be together! Good Lord.:o:distress::laugh: NOT NOW FLEETWOOD MAC! STEVIES ON A ROLL!:blob2:

It says "Brand New Show" in capital letters underneath. And it also features Ricky Gervais and Rod Stewart . I mean, WTF? Is she going to do a duet with him? I guess it's safe to assume that Rod is performing and Stevie's just sitting on the couch. But, hey, maybe she'll surprise us. :blob1:

It's not inconceivable that THIS will be the conduit through which she announces to the world the title of the new album and the release date. Can. not. wait.

GODDESS6 01-06-2011 05:19 PM

yaaaaay, thanx for the heads up~ i wrk from home & will be watching & dvring it:D~

RockALittle250 01-06-2011 05:38 PM

My Tivo says "Rod Stewart and Stevie Nicks perform"

But since the only other guest is Gervais, I would assume that Stevie will get couch time.

Another thing is to remember is, Ellen's show and Stevie hold one important thing in common: Warner Bros.

RockALittle250 01-06-2011 05:53 PM

I have to say that I am baffled by this pairing. If it were Stevie and Dave Stewart performing together, it would be very obvious that it was in relation to both of their albums being released in the coming months. But Rod Stewart has an album that he just released in October, and unless he and Stevie are dueting on a song that will be on her upcoming album, I don't see how they really fit together here.

Maybe Dave could shed some light on this...did he ever mention special guest appearances on her album?

UndoingTheLaces 01-06-2011 05:57 PM

I totally want to see Rod and Stevie sitting on the couch together, Stevie with arms folded shaking her head at Rod saying, 'Stand Back... really?"

cristochango 01-06-2011 05:59 PM

I'M SO PUMPED!!
Ellen's hilarious :)

and I'm willing to bet a few of us like Stevie, too ;)

Well the old boy did cover "Stand Back" so mayhaps they'll croak that one out together..I'd be totally floored though if she did something completely out of character like debut her new single.I think if he was going to be on her new album we'd have heard by now though,

TerraRhiannon 01-06-2011 06:22 PM

OMG :blob2::blob2::blob2: This is awesome! Ellen is like, no lie, my favorite talk show host, & pretty much my idol. I love her to no end. Okay. New Stevie on Ellen episode is gonna make me crap my pants :) SOOO excited o_O :D

LukeA 01-06-2011 06:28 PM

To announce their co-headlining summer shed nostalgia tour, apparently, it seems.

As long as her new album is released by the time they hit the road, I could give a crap...

What's Shed Nostalgia? A band? Sounds like they wouldn't be too good.

didn't stevie state in a televised interview some time ago that she didnt release something or the other due to the fact that there was a tour happening and she didnt feel like she could promote properly? doesn't seem she can handle much at once.

Sheds = Amphitheaters

Nostalgia Tour = Playing your hit songs from 30 years ago at the expense of neglecting your new material

I suppose it'd be a pipedream to expect Stevie to perform her first single from the new album on Ellen's show given the fact Rod will be on the show with her and they'll most likely focus on their upcoming oldies tour. Gross. :distress:

seems likely they will do standback or a standard, don't you think?

At least in this case there will be new material that actually exists.

Oh, they're old drinkin' buddies...yeah, and they can do "Stand Back" together!

I hope it's not Stand Back...she's preformed it a lot on talk Shows.! I like that she sang 'Everyday' on Rosie. I want her to sing a song from Trouble In Shangri-La on the Ellen Show, or a new song from her new album, but that probably won't happen. (The new song.)

Thanks for the reply!! It actually looks like I was joking around, but I was serious, I actually didn't know what it was. I don't think it would be bad if Rod & Stevie did a duet of one of her old songs, or his old songs. That would be cool. I just hope they don't perform their solo songs...solo. :(

Christopher 01-06-2011 07:18 PM

I hope she debuts a new song. Adele debuted her new song on Ellen from her upcoming album back in November, and her record wont be out til Feb. So its totally possible. It would seem that if Ellen has both Stevie & Rod on her show that they will get 2 songs between the 2 of them. I just pray it's not Stand Back. Stevie has performed this song way too many times on talk shows over the last 20 years going all the way to the Arsenio Hall show:eek:

Oh yeah, I'd be willing to bet money Stand Back is what's in the cards for us. I just hope the "game changing" collaboration Dave Stewart was talking about recently has nothing to do with Rod Stewart being anywhere near Stevie's new album. That's a thoroughly disgusting thought...

I would love to hear TISL :)

holy sh*tballs! on one hand, this is awesome that Stevie is gonna be on Ellen! :]
but with Rod Stewart???:distress: maybe its a typo and its actually Dave Stewart.
i'd rather it be that way.:sorry:
and if they do a duet of Stand Back...:mad::mad:

A typo would be EFFING FABULOUS. Seriously words cannot describe my hate for everything having to do with Rod Stewart. I will blow a lid if he gets anywhere near Stevie in regards to touring and the album.

I could almost stomach Stevie touring with Rod, because I most likely won't go see her anyway. But if he were to be part of her album... I'd have to suggest an uprising.

Never made that connection or the similarities. This is totally possible and I would love it to be true....I just couldn't see past the whole Rod/Stevie combo. Boy if it's true, they are in for a lot of jokes about their singing styles on the road together. The crone and the croak. I KID.;)

nailatixela 01-06-2011 09:11 PM

So exciting! I just hope Stevie gets couch time so we can actually get some information and funny banter out of her. :) A preformance would be nice, but I really am more interested in hearing what she has to say, rather than hear her do Stand Back. I feel like Ellen's people would discourage her doing Stand Back or Landslide, since she just did them the last time she was on her show.

Amlyn 01-06-2011 09:14 PM

Perhaps Stevie and Rod are going to compare notes about Carol Ann Harris.

I am NOT a Rod Stewart fan. I really hope they are just both coincidentally booked for the same day.

Nonetheless, I can't wait till next Thursday. I'm already thinking of how I can get off work so I don't have to wait till the evening to watch it.

I hope this is the first of many things we hear about Stevie this month.

i agree ...any new Stevie news is good news
not a RS fan either...it makes me sick thinking about it.
but a new cd and summer tour (with or without Rod) i guess i can learn to live with

DallasDude 01-06-2011 09:26 PM

Warners Bros at Work

This TV appearance is most definitely a move by the record company. And while it seems most people on The Ledge are indifferent to it, or don't like it, it actually means the label is very serious about promoting Stevie Nicks, regardless if she sings a standard or not at all.

However, it wouldn't surprise me if she does reveal the name of the CD, and quite possibly might even sing the first single. Yes, it would be very much of of rhythm for her, but again this looks like a marketing move, and it would be odd that she'd be on the Ellen show now and then again when the CD is released. So my money is on her performing something new to get people excited about the upcoming release.

If this is the case, WB must think she has a big song that should be a hit if they can get people to hear it (and not rely initially on radio.)

I just looked and Rod has an album dropping on Feb 1st, so maybe it's just an episode showcasing upcoming releases. Please...

I'm totally with you...this is without a doubt a way to begin turning the gears and promoting Stevie's album. Whether it's Dave Stewart or Rod Stewart that's with her, Dave said on twitter regarding Stevie's album, once 2011 is here, "BOOM", and it looks like he was right!

To me, the only thing that could make this even better if it is indeed Dave Stewart that is appearing with her on the show.

DallasDude 01-06-2011 09:36 PM

Mistake??

I wonder if the Ellen listing is a mistake, and it's not Rod Stewart performing with Stevie, but Dave Stewart? Believe me, a young intern might know the name of Rod Stewart but not Dave, so there could have been a major miscommunication. It happens all the time.

lets hope thats the case

tilthefirefades 01-06-2011 09:55 PM

I doubt it's a typo if it's true they are touring together. Why, of all the oldies acts out there, does it have to be Rod Stewart?? Where is Don Henley when you need him?
