Although I've had no problems, I agree. I'm here too much already, so I'm kind of worried about adding too many people. No offense. I mean, if I come here to talk FM and chitchat, I don't need that following my on FB, too.
I try to keep FB for my real life social friends. I have no family on there, even though they've asked. They don't need to read of my wild adventures!!!:laugh::wavey:

Okay, can someone explain Twitter to me? I mean, I'm on there, BUT,......
I live in a medium sized(100K) town, and NO ONE there Twitters(tweets, whatever). My friends in Indy Twitter, though. That's kind of strange. Is it more of a big city thing? My friend moved down from Indy, and he told me that everyone there Tweets, but no one in my town does.

Sooo, it's like FB, in that you post your status, BUT ALSO, you constantly post your location, too?
^^^Is that pretty much it? WHY would I want ppl to know where I'm at??? So that I can get stuck in the grocery store, talking for an hour. No thanks.:laugh:

Honestly, I don't really know anybody with a Twitter in my school, Stony Brook, and yet, it's in an area of LI that, over the years, has gotten very built up and gone upscale. Not even the people I know that dorm there that live in NYC have one. I guess, like you said, it must be a "big city thing" (and a thing my uncle had to do cause it was another "toy" for him, even though he hated it, same going for PSP, Kindle, and Blackberry, all things he has absolutely no use for, but had to buy cause it was a new "toy" for him :lol:)

As for what it is, I think it's like FB statuses, except it's limited to 140 characters and, quite honestly, I don't think the whole world needs to know when i go to the bathroom :lol:

Yeah, it's strange, that we both hear that Twitter is such a big thing, yet don't really know anybody that does it. I think John(aperfectlie) is my only follower. But I've not even checked it, for a month or so. I sent the notifications to my phone, but then just ignored the whole thing.
Facebook is all I need. FB and the Ledge.

Yes on the bathroom. A friend of mine, always posts his FB status as "just farted".

I just think it's funny the kinds of random things people will write on their walls on FB. I have people who quote things, tell us their whole life story, etc. Of course, if you want a really good laugh, read some of the stuff submitted to Failbook or Lamebook

My favorites, are my young friends, who get on there, and RANT away!

I hate the F*CKING world. Why does my life always turn to sh*t? I wish everyone would just leave me the f*ck alone.

I mean, how can you not laugh at those. And yeah, it's always the same 2 or 3 friends, that consistently do that.

I would like to respond - your life is sh*t, because you're too lazy to work. You're irresponsible, in every aspect of your life. THAT, is why your life sucks. Grow yourself a backbone, and make something out of your life. Sorry to have to tell you the truth. Have a good day.:lol:

:lol: When the cartoon display picture trend was going on I changed it to my favourite cartoon character - Salad Fingers! My DP has never actually been me though cause I don't want my family to ever find and add me :distress:

I've felt like saying that many times, including one of my friends who happens to be one of my aunt's wacko friends. She's nuts, writes these crazy things on her wall, and yaks about how much she hates her job. I've wanted to say something or drop her, but it could very easily get back to the family.

Other FB peeves... I have friends that are newlyweds. They post to each other, several times a day, "oh honey, I love you SO MUCH. Can't wait to get home to my baby. I miss you so much". It's nauseating, and no one wants to read that sh*t! And everyone talks about how they can't stand it, behind their backs.

Unfortunately, I like them both.

I don't think I've ever had that, but I had this one wacky guy I unfriended that filled his wall with mushy love junk to no one in particular and it always came up in my feed

As for that, I have the same issue myself with other games. Like I really care someone sent me something for Farmville, which I stopped ages ago. Same goes for Mafia Wars, except I play that far too much and have joined a clan too (they're a group of people who play the game together and whatnot), but I still make fun of the crazies who think the game is a power trip (I kid you not, they practically took out mortgages to play the game too :lol:)

I've unfriended 4 ppl(almost literally, a GANG of four). If you remember my end of summer terrible pool party(things got out of hand, sexually, between all parties). Strangeness. Last night, the two I care about, started texting me, and told me that they miss me, and want me back in their lives. The two remaining unfriended, are actually THEIR friends, who I can't really stand now, so it's going to be awkward, if I'm forced to hang with them, too.....JTIS

I am a creature of habit, and I just can't seem to make myself stop playing Farmville. I just can't!:( But the notifications, are driving me batsh*t crazy.

STOP NOTIFYING ME THAT SOMEONE SENT ME A GIFT IN FARMVILLE!!!:mad::mad::mad:

I know whatcha mean about those notifications. I woke up one morning and logged onto FB, to find that the majority of my notifications were from games I didn't even play anymore (I keep on forgetting to block some of them), but shouldn't there be a way to prevent notifications from coming up in your news feed?

I tweet about my life and when I'm touring I tweet about my pretend life. Can you tell which one is real?

I have a Twitter, but I never use it. Here, it seems that people who Tweet either do so for business purposes or are local celebrities. I also know people who use it to promote their side businesses, like photography or freelance writing. And them some just have it to enter contests and giveaways. :laugh:

no, he's not on twitter, according to his niece.

you can do searches for what you are interested in on twitter - so you can use it kinda like a news feed in real time, sometimes.

Me too! I hope no one has taken offense....but I haven't added all the Ledgies who've requested an add. I guess, if I don't really feel like I know you, that we have enough interaction on the Ledge. It's not like I'm never here!:lol:

FWIW, I have no family on my FB. I don't come from the most computer literate people, but the few family members that have requested me,.....I usually just change the subject, or agree with them, that it's VERY hard to find me, since I have such a common name(who would have ever thought, that having a name like John Smith, would grant you almost complete internet anonymity?). They get 5 billion hits on your name, and give up!!!!! I love it!!!! My aunt told me on Tuesday, that her daughter had been trying to find me, but there were just so many David B's, that she gave up. Good!:lol:

My family doesn't need to see my personal life. I'm very close to them, but they don't need to see my party schedule, or be trying to figure out who I'm currently fukcing....

As you've already seen, most of my family members are fairly psychotic. :laugh:

Most of them aren't real computer literate either, but a few of them are on FB, and I try to make sure they have as few points of contact with me as possible. My religious fanatic sister-in-law found me on another website and posted a really nasty message directed toward me in full public view about 6 months ago, so I'm still kind of edgy about that.

I've added a few people I went to high school with, but I deleted a bunch of them - not to get political, but if your fan pages include Sarah Palin, Jesus, and Sean Hannity, chances are we're not going to get along. Plus, I was appalled by how many of them apparently thought nothing of posing with deer carcasses in their profile photos. :rolleyes: :eek:

So, yeah. :laugh:

Well, I'm just not that political, but to be honest, religious people scare me, for the most part.

My family is very sane, and tame(lame!). I'm BY FAR, the wildest one in the whole clan. They're so conservative, that I try to not let them see that side of me.
I see them all, nearly every single holiday of the year. We're that close. But that's enough!:laugh:
