Feel free to mention why you choose the video as your LEAST favorite. This will be fun! So join in! REMEMBER TO WRITE DOWN YOUR LEAST FAVORITE VIDEO! Voting will end Monday at 12:00pm. Votes after that time period will not be counted. Whole Lotta Trouble
Live/concert music videos are just particularly unimaginative to me. Not to mention Stevie is obviously sedated within an inch of her life in this particular one. And lastly, this is one of my least favorite Stevie singles to boot. |

Sometimes It's A Bitch
Crappy Bon Jovi song + poorly edited clips of past projects (some footage with objectionable picture quality) = boo, boo and TRIPLE BOO! |
I always wondered why they used footage with crappy quality. Wasn't there anyway to enhance the visual?

Well Everyday was a beautiful video, but dull vocal and song, so it was hard really to choose.

My vote is for Blue Denim. Don't care for it much at all.

So are you definitely going with WLT as your least favorite this round?

I think the song itself is really, really great. And I like how Stevie looked uber witchy in the vid. I can't help it, I just adore all her little Stevie dancing/tambourine moves too... I think they're just precious. I even like the insane giant muppet hair she was sporting! And you can see the fire back in Stevie's eyes in this video... you can tell she'd crawled out from under the Klonopin spell. And like Anthony pointed out to me the other day, Rick Vito is certainly quite cute and nice to look at in this vid :D. |
During SA Tour at first, I hated whatever it was she was doing with her hair with that crimped look but years later I see the big diva-ness of it all and I like it now. Love the witchy look too she went for in the video but if I ever had an over 40 crush, it would not be Rick Vito.

Gotta go with Sometimes It's A Bitch. That music vid was such a dumb-looking mess.
Going OT, my fave would have to be If Anyone Falls |
This video was a Whole Lotta Trouble. She looks like a Stevie Nicks impostor in this video  Not to mention that the whole shoot lacks any creativity and poor editing. And more importantly there is NO energy whatsoever to make up for either (at least in BD Stevie emitted energy and that vid had decent editing). To me this is a sad sad video, I never watch it, or for that matter any OSOTM boots. Stevie is just not there! I think this is the tour she famously said that she doesn't even remember huge chunks of it. And to cap it off WLT is probably my least favorite single of Stevie's ever... even over SIAB & TKOL.
WLT was a lame and cheap attempt for a video esp. of Stevie's stature at the time & it was only the 2nd vid off OSOTM. It's as if they blew their wad on ROF and had nothing in the budget left for a decent 2nd video. I don't even remember this getting any play on MTV or VH1 at the time. And it's probably a good thing cause it would have destroyed Stevie's career even more and left an indelible impression. |
The video for "Whole Lotta Trouble" is horrible. One of her most unflattering looks, terrible performance overall... what is up with the lyrics? Did she sing it like this every night?! This is Stevie Nicks. She can afford to do reshoots.
She botches both verses in the video performance (measuring in over-enunciated seconds instead of minutes...), and CRIMINALLY omits the "when I want something... I get it" at the end of the second verse which is the best bit in the entire studio take of song. Anyway, the video isn't representative of what was on the radio, single or LP and if my only exposure to the song were the video I would have been considerably less than impressed. |

I'm gonna vote for Sometimes it's a Bitch. Crappy song, and the only good thing about the video is the occasional Christine shot.
Also, Blue Denim is my favorite video, and one of my favorite songs :D |
Voting: Sometimes its a Bitch to save WLT.
Personally, I think Sorcerer and Every day are crappy videos. Not because of the production or storylines, but because of Stevie. She is so boring in both of them. |
Going with Whole Lotta Trouble. I do like the song, but the video itself is nothing special.

My vote is for Whole Lotta Trouble.
Although I hate the video for Blue Denim & Stop Draggin My Heart Around almost as much, but I love the songs so that helped me vote for Whole Lotta Trouble instead. I always thought she could do more with her videos, make them so much more interesting. My favorites are Rooms On Fire, Every Day & If Anyone Falls by a landslide. |
I've gotta go with "Whole Lotta Trouble."
I actually like all of Stevie's vids--or at least parts of them (the same could not be said of FM). But as much as I enjoy the goofy dancing and the top hat, I think it's mostly kind of a boring vid. And I really like "Sometimes it's a Bitch"! With the pics of her growing up and clips of her career, I see it as really paying tribute to her as an icon. |
I like the Sometimes It's A Bitch video too! She looks beautiful, if a tad "Glamour Shots", and the retrospective clips are nice. It was the lead single for a retrospective and using them fit the general theme of the lyrics and of Timespace itself.
Still not crazy about the song, though I do appreciate the opening riff's attempt at recalling the sonics of "Edge Of Seventeen" and "Stand Back". |
Whole Lotta Trouble....can't stand it.

My bitch about "Sometimes it's a Bitch.": It's a such a lazy hack job of old footage, as if to say "This is just an after thought-- we really didn't want to invest any effort or money in this video, because, quite frankly, we don't care much about the song."
My trouble with 'Whole Lotta Trouble": It had the potential to be a good song, but Stevie's weak lyrics don't even come close to fufilling the concept. The live performance drives that point home. What the hell was her issue in not singing the "second, minute, moment" properly? She was stuck on "second" mode. Mine is the majority vote: Whole Lotta F:Dcking Trouble." |

Every single clip they show matches every single word she sings. I love all the clip footage shown. Up to that point in time, all that rare footage was completely new to us. That is a very well written song. It should have been a hit. But how could it have been when Stevie herself bashed it in the press at that time? She influenced her fans to dis-regard it. Not this fan though. |

I despise the Civil War video for "Stand Back" and it gets my vote happily. Nonsensical rubbish. Just because it's 1983 doesn't mean it's good. Like Doug said, the video was conceived with "If Anyone Falls" in mind as the original first single. Forcing it to "Stand Back" is horrible.
Stevie's limp hair, Sharon & Lori chasing the chickens, Stevie clutching the bed post... >shudder< Although it is cool to see Stevie ordering a shot at the bar. BTW, someone talked about film quality and no upgrades? That Civil War video on Crystal Visions looks no better than my VHS bootleg I got in 1994. Where's the upgrade? I love the "Sometimes It's A Bitch" video! Especially the Japanese edit, which has extra new footage not shown in the US version. Fantastic! |
Everyday
Well, I'm gonna go with something different and say : Everyday video. I don't hate it but to me its a boring song. One that Stevie didn't write. A boring video really. I think Sorcerer is better than Everyday. I don't mind SIAB video. Like MikeB said I love the Japan version with the extra clip of Stevie with the fan (now why wasn't this also on Crystal Visions as well? This version. I also agree with Mike about the Scarlett version on CV not great quality.) You would think they'd give us the best copy around. Doesn't make sense really does it?? I do like what Stevie wears in the WLT video esp the Top coat with tails and the Top Hat and her boots. Hate the belt very very large belt in the video. I like the skirt too. I don't like it that she changed the words either but I do recall her stating in interviews around that time that she had written many different versions to WLT with different words but Mike Campbell said she had to go back to the 'original' version when they recorded the demo for it. So she must of used the words to the other versions or something?? I don't know. That would probably be my 2nd not liked video but I'm still sticking with Everyday for mine even if I'm the only person--thats OK. :D:shrug:
