All Over You!!!!!
I have been listening to this song all day! I don't know why I haven't realized the awesomeness of Stevie's vocal on this before!
This whole song is sexy, and fun. I have never heard Stevie do the "Lindsey" moans before! It is really cool, imo! Anybody else want to discuss? |

Wow Lindsey moans like a pussy. Kidding. I liked Lindsey's depiction of her moaning better, quite humorous. I like this song in total, though.

Did she write this track w/ Prince for Enchanted? Maybe I'm making this up.. It sounds an awful lot like the Purple One had something to do with it. Perhaps this would have been there follow-up collaboration to Stand Back?

this song was "supposedly" recorded the same time as Stand Back...and was "supposedly" submitted for inclusion on the Enchanted box set. I still don't hear Stevie on this. |

I've posted SEVERAL times that Stevie Nicks is the one who turned in "All Over You" to Atlantic Records in February 1998, outtake from the Rock A Little era. |
In 1998, it was spelled "All Over U".
Let's spar, John. |

In my head I pictured a RAL era Stevie pre Betty Ford :D "Uh, Uh, Uh.. All Over You" |
and i thought Stevie and Prince stopped talking when Purple Rain premiered??? July of 1984. so how could Stevie be singing on a Prince song during the RAL era???
couldn't it be Shelia E? or Sheena Easton? maybe Wendy and Lisa? Camille? |
July of 84' is the RAL era technically. Stevie was well into recording her 3rd record by that July. RAL was originally scheduled for release the fall of 84'. But as most of us know, Stevie shelved an album's worth of recordings and went back to the drawing board after not being satisfied with the sessions.
I think it safe to say that this song could have been recorded anytime between 82'-84'. I also recall Stevie recounting a story when Fleetwood Mac was on the road for Mirage in the Minneapolis area. Prince showed up and afterward he and Stevie sped in his purple car all the way back to his house and she alluded that they tinkered in his studio on a couple of things. I think this could also be the time that Stevie smoked her weed and passed out on his kitchen floor, and he had to drag her up the stairs to sleep, inspired almost verbatim in "Thousand Days". |

"One More Big Time Rock And Roll Star" was RECORDED in July, 1983. It's still Rock A Little.

Can I just ask why some people don't think SN is on this track? Is it just because they don't think it sounds like her?
To my ears, it sounds like it could definitely be her. But is there other evidence to say it definitely is her? Thanks, if anyone has time to answer. |

I don't think we have any other confirmation that it's her, nobody has ever mentioned it to my knowledge. From The NicksFix Q104.3 Radio in New York - Interview Stevie: You wanna hear a story about Prince? One time we played New York and he came and picked me up . . . he wanted to take me out to his house. Of course none of my people wanted to just let me go. Nine-thirty in the morning. We get in Prince's purple car. He was in his purple clothes too. Swear to God. I had halfway gotten out of my stage clothes, but I still had the skirt on, and tennis shoes . . . I get in his car, and we're, I kid you not, in Minnesota. We went down the freeway at 150 miles an hour. And I am, like, "We're gonna get pulled over. This is gonna look so bad. We're gonna get pulled over, Prince. We're going 150 miles an hour." So I went out and spent the day at his purple house. We kind of played around with a song for a little while, in his recording studio a little bit, and then he took me back to be at the Fleetwood Mac plane at, like, three o'clock in the afternoon. I made it back on time to take off and go to the next gig. But I swore we were gonna be pulled over. And how are we gonna . . . looking like we look . . . how are we going to get out of this one? What are we gonna say? We were, you know, we were just casually cruising out to your house, you know . . . at 150 miles an hour. Prince, we're gonna go to jail, both of us. He didn't care. He kept going. I'm pretty sure that's as good as it gets. It could have been any song - they might have even worked on others... -I just realised that Christopher already posted something to this extent, Sorry- |

My ears* tell me it could be her, but then I also imagine I hear her in tracks I know she's been nowhere near, for example S Club 7's 'Don't Stop Movin'. *34 years' training (God, I'm old) |

I posted SEVERAL times how Stevie turned in "All Over You" as a batch of songs for consideration for Enchanted in February 1998. She did this in NYC at Atlantic's offices there. A friend of mine, a FELLOW LEDGIE, had a fiance who worked at Atlantic there, and he made copies for his then-girlfriend/now-wife (let's call her LOona). Real people that MANY people here know, so it's not fake.
LOona made copies for me and others. We had the "Twisted" demo before Enchanted came out. History is FACT; look it up. Why the Hell would Stevie Nicks put "All Over You" in a bunch of songs she wanted to maybe be on Enchanted? List of those songs: The Nightmare - Piano demo #1 The Nightmare - Piano demo #2 How Still My Love - Jazz outtake #1 How Still My Love - Jazz outtake #2 Gypsy Beggars Edge Of Seventeen - Unreleased Extended Dance Version Twisted - Demo without overdubs Twisted - Demo with overdubs It's Late #1 It's Late #2 Why this is disputed is beyond me. It's Stevie. She herself gave the song to Atlantic. |

I have always believed that Stevie was on this track but I listened today after not listening to it for a long time and I'm starting to have doubts . It doesn't sound like her at all in the verse "All Over Youuu". Maybe I can hear her in the background of another female lead voice but the lead vocal is not Stevie!
Not to mention it's SO un-Stevie-like. Catchy little ditty none the less. |
To me, I clearly hear her on the words 'Only one place on my mind, only one thing will do'. Of course, every time I listen to this, all I can think of is "Kick It" from Street Angel!! 'I can see you're waited for, all over you'!!
